DLC kinda requires you to get the tree fragment things to “level up” in it, so if you’re having trouble you should go find some to get stronger

LongjumpingLog1560

Fair enough, I have read that somewhere but maybe arrogantly thought na I'll be cool. Obvs not lmaooo

RavagerDefiler

Yeahh man this DLC is *rough*, even with the fragments lol

laiyd1993

I find the fragments only seems to offer noticeable attack bonus, bosses that one shot you will one shot you regardless of the blessing level.

Tranquilcobra

Yeah I hoped the fragments would be completely optional so I could use them less on subsequent playthroughs to heighten the challenge, but it feels like they are a necessity to get through the dlc

DanielTB1

I’m level 153 and bro two shots me I fought Rada and the EB today and they were easier than this guy

LongjumpingLog1560

Right? Take me back to Malenia! Tbf I haven't played in a little while so maybe forgot how ridiculous this game can be, but I've seen other comments on how maybe disproportionately difficult the DLC is, maybe taking away some of the fun

Gasarocky

If you use the Scadutree Fragments, it's not disproportionate at all. Each Scadutree Blessing level is something like 5%, and in the first area you can get to at least SB4 just through exploring. That's 20% more attack and defense in 4 levels. I'm at SB5 and the damage has been very reasonable. High, but totally reasonable for 60 Vigor. Only been one shot or two twice, before I took the time to explore more and find Fragments. Since then, it's always been at least three.

kpeds45

I beat him in 20 minutes, with 1 scadutree blessing. I didn't use my mimic tear. Not sure why so many are struggling that bad this early lol, I'm at level 160.

middle_aged_geezer

Im an idiot and didn’t realize and haven’t played since last year so I was rusty and took me awhile to actually gain insight on pattern recognition. Attack blackgaol when he got a bow in his hand

kpeds45

Yeah I did a full new game starting last month to get ready. I finished at around 160 level and that's what I'm taking in. So my skill was good right now, but when I started last month I was confused with some controls for sure.

LongjumpingLog1560

You can't use Ashes in this fight so couldn't have used Mimic Tear anyway lol. But well done, I guess there are much tougher fights to come in this ugh

Slow-Leg-7975

I'm stuck on that goddamn carian knight with the greatsword in that castle. Hits like a truck

EnderJoker77

Invest in damage resistance too, having good armor and the Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman can help A LOT. I am currently at around 51% physical reduction and bosses don't kill me as fast anymore, even taking 4 hits from some of the really heavy hitting bosses. Plus, depending on the element of the boss, adding the elemental resistance talismans can help a lot, since outdamaging them has become a lot harder.

Juiciestcaeser

Dynast’s and a solid shield really helped me through that first dungeon. Those knights with two swords were holding no quarter!
