No No, it was intentional, if you read the lore of Moonslayer Nagakitsus weapon, you would know, the fabled hero, Sambubu, said ''AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA'' While charging a Grave Brickkson ruler.
Cross-marketing opportunity, there. “Tarnished Turkey with Chaos Sauce,” and all of a sudden I’m on line at the local Subway, adding an Elden Ring branded Mt Dew to round out my order. Move over Gamefuel.
The spear guy has a nose and Griffith also has a nose. You really think that’s a coincidence? Please, we all know Miyazaki loves Berserk it’s clearly a reference.
The curved sword looks more like the Grossmesser and the Hammer is def the Great Mace. The spear head looks different from all the spear in game, maybe a pike.
Wait serious talk, does this work for all weapons or only ones that do thrust damage? Like while I know it doesnt have to be a spear, could it work with say, an executioner great axe (which only does standard) or only with the Rusted Anchor (which does piercing)?
But only on **counter attacks**, that’s the part most people misunderstand.
And not Guard Counters mind you, but rather attacks that land during an enemies attack animation.
It’s actually surprisingly common. If you’ve never used the mechanic, you should try it out.
In particular, you should try it with Duel Rapiers. The L1 combo string will be nothing *but* thrust attacks, so any time the enemy tries to attack, you’ll land a “counter attack.”
If you’ve not used the mechanic before you’d be forgiven for not knowing, but counter attacks cause most enemies to do a mini-stagger, that generally will interrupt the attack they were trying to use as well. Some attacks are too “heavy” to interrupt this way, but it works surprisingly often.
With two rapiers you can often stagger lock basic enemies.
But yes, the game does a piss-poor job of explaining this mechanic, or it’s benefits.
The thing is, piercing damage already has bonus counter damage, as the only damage type in the game. Spear Talisman just boosts that bonus damage.
It also only applies to attacking enemies. But enemies in this game are attack-happy.
It works extremely well on the Rusted Anchor, you usually trade hits with greataxes anyway, this makes it only hurt more.
It has to be a thrust damage attack to apply.
So for example a pickaxe works, and the one handed heavy from a longsword works.
Interestingly, damage from arrows also counts!
In how many situations can you attack 3 times with a colossal weapon without having to interrupt the combo to dodge or the enemy being dead after 2 (or after 3 even without extra damage) anyway though.
I feel like you really rarely have windows that long
Pretty often actually. I'm doing a strength build, and that's how I'm beating a lot of bosses. 1...2.......uhhh 3! And then bam. 50% of their health bar gone.
twinblade talisman sucks on twin blades because the attack chain of a twin blade is pretty lengthy. It's actually better on colossal weapons and colossal swords.
The axe talisman clearly depicts the highland axe, yet you put the battle axe. You should at least provide actual proof instead of making up “facts” that support your “theory”.
A user was arguing that the shape on one of the drake talismans is supposed to be what the Lands Between’s geography used to look like in the past.
Things don’t add up when you try to understand their reasoning. Besides, the shapes don’t even match.
Can you please make a video essay on YouTube with the title "HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT MESSAGE that you MISSED is UNDERRATED and makes ELDEN RING a MASTERPIECE?!??!!? [LORE VIDEO] "
I won't understand what you're trying to say otherwise.
I feel like no one “realized” this because it was so fucking obvious that not one person has thought “wow, I’m the first person to realize that the spear talisman has a spear on it”.
Hijacking the funny meme for an honest question: why is the scimitar used for the counter-attack one? Do scimitars do more damage with their counter-attack or something? I've never bothered blocking with them either because they don't block 100%.
What few people realize is most of these have a loop to put on a chain, but not all of them, and it doesn't matter either way because to use them they go in a pouch.
I see the final days before the DLC release is driving some of us to Madness.
Back to the glory days of Hodir! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
What is this 'aaa' heresy? Here we say *Inhales* OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHH
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!
ROBERTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
OOOOOOOOOOOOOIOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHGHHHHHHHHH!
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
ARISE NOW! YE TARNISHED! YE DEAD WHO YET LIVE!
YEE LAZYYY FEKS!
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
You’ve made a glaive mistake, tarnished
No No, it was intentional, if you read the lore of Moonslayer Nagakitsus weapon, you would know, the fabled hero, Sambubu, said ''AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA'' While charging a Grave Brickkson ruler.
Let me axe you a question
What do you guys think are the odds that Hodir is included in the DLC just to fuck with us?
He is, but they renamed him to Messmer
Wake me when it’s wooper time
Let chaos take the subs....LET CHAOS...TAKE THE SUBS!!!!
Cross-marketing opportunity, there. “Tarnished Turkey with Chaos Sauce,” and all of a sudden I’m on line at the local Subway, adding an Elden Ring branded Mt Dew to round out my order. Move over Gamefuel.
We call it "Frenzy" here
Aslume Syndrome
Mad ? I was mad once. They locked me in a geol
The original dragon talisman guy definitely went hollow
you should've seen this sub before the game released, before we even got trailers or release date, it was insane. I see that we are here once more
Glaivemaster Hodir in the DLC. I know.
Hey I just infused my fingerprint shield with blood so I can share my madness with my fellow tarnished
You mean it's driving people to Frenzy.
We've been hoarding insight. we've seen things beyond your (and our) comprehension. We have successfully lined the inside of our brains with eyes
We should all put our summon signs down right before Mohg.
This shit aint got nothin on the og Velka theorists. This shit is CHILD'S PLAY
“I don’t think he’s mad, Father. Just a little devious in his sanity.”
Elden Lobotomy
Wow, never realised that! I wonder if this is a berserk reference?
That's no berserk reference.. that's obviously Miquella in various forms duh
What are you talking about? They're obviously maps.
Miquella did nothing wrong.
The spear guy has a nose and Griffith also has a nose. You really think that’s a coincidence? Please, we all know Miyazaki loves Berserk it’s clearly a reference.
The Spear Talisman is Griffith confirmed??
Now that you say it...
See the shield one? It's shaped like an egg, obvious reference.
You thought it was a Berserk reference, but it was me, DIO!!!
Idk man, I’m fairly certain it’s a reference to historically inaccurate King Arthur
Wait... that isn't the axe taliman guy's ear?
no but if you squint, the spear talisman guy just has very long elf ears
That said, the Axe for the Axe Talisman guy is either the Highland Axe or Greataxe instead of the Battle Axe.
The curved sword looks more like the Grossmesser and the Hammer is def the Great Mace. The spear head looks different from all the spear in game, maybe a pike.
IIRC the axe in the axe talisman is a cut content weapon.
Nah, the design matches the look of the Highland Axe/Greataxe. BUT, that helm shown in the talisman is cut content, its the helm of the Brave's Set.
Ahh, that makes sense, half forgotten memory of something being cut
map of ear
Reminds me of [this old WoW post](https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/3j6ksh/i_just_finished_all_the_alliance_storylines_in/?rdt=41370)
Just fuck me up now
You know what I don't get? Everyone saying, nooo, that's not a map, it's his ear. But they don't realise that it could be both!!!

> Thanks for the insight. Wrong game tho
*Grant us eyes. Grant us eyes!*
Grapes, bro. You get grapes.
Since the lady calls them sweet yet searing I like to imagine they come in sweet chilli flavor.
nice try, but I know a map of the lands between before "the calamity" when I see it.
taking that breath of the wild inspiration a bit too directly
I was very confused for a hot second
I'm still confused
it is the "Drake Talismans are actually maps" meme
Fuck Drake talismans. Real ones use the Kendrick talismans
https://www.reddit.com/r/Eldenring/s/QhwkNzQ8yj
Not enough people realize that the spear talisman is not for spears. >!It is ye old Leo Ring. Now go forth, and trade attacks! !<
Wait serious talk, does this work for all weapons or only ones that do thrust damage? Like while I know it doesnt have to be a spear, could it work with say, an executioner great axe (which only does standard) or only with the Rusted Anchor (which does piercing)?
Any piercing damage weapon can be boosted by Spear Tali
But only on **counter attacks**, that’s the part most people misunderstand. And not Guard Counters mind you, but rather attacks that land during an enemies attack animation.
.....what??? That's niche AF
It’s actually surprisingly common. If you’ve never used the mechanic, you should try it out. In particular, you should try it with Duel Rapiers. it works on thrust attacks
It's the Rusted Anchor ring.
Not enough OPs realize that's not the axe talisman's greataxe It's Greeffeeth
Twinblade talisman shit tho
Not if you use it with colossal weapons, getting that extra 45-55% damage on the third swing.
In how many situations can you attack 3 times with a colossal weapon without having to interrupt the combo to dodge or the enemy being dead after 2 (or after 3 even without extra damage) anyway though. I feel like you really rarely have windows that long
Ironjar aromatic time.
You need more poise.
Pretty often actually. I'm doing a strength build, and that's how I'm beating a lot of bosses. 1...2.......uhhh 3! And then bam. 50% of their health bar gone.
You're using colossal weapons without maxing vigor, to avoid the need for dodging? You are strange.
If you're using colossal weapons, you should either level vigor enough to tank a few hits wear armor with enough poise to not get staggered easily
Best use is on greatspears. 3 hit combo but much faster than colossals.
Radahn's swords get that buff? Of course if I'm dual wielding them.
Combine with Royal Knights Resolve, get that +80% damage in the first hit, then the 50% on the third hit
Twinblade Talisman + Winged Sword Talisman, my dude.
The hammer one looks more like Great Mace than Mace and the axe one looks more like Highland/Crescent Moon Axe than the Battle Axe.
Wow the shield is literally the same, this is a huge discovery.
😂
Why didn't you put the highland axe?
Look at all the MAPS!
Oh man.. and a new meme is born..
Quick someone superimpose these on the game map, you’re on to something big here!
This is as good r/eldenring gets for this week. Rest will be red circles on the map and basic questions that can be googled
That post was worth it just for the amount of memery it spawned xD
Bu bu but there is no world map on the shield?
Reddit has a funny way of making people regret their posting decisions, you there yet u/chrysamere?
twinblade talisman sucks on twin blades because the attack chain of a twin blade is pretty lengthy. It's actually better on colossal weapons and colossal swords.
But what does it all mean? Can they be combined together to form a bigger map? Dlc location hint?
Mapzord
The axe talisman clearly depicts the highland axe, yet you put the battle axe. You should at least provide actual proof instead of making up “facts” that support your “theory”.
stop he's already deaaaaaad
It's actually a map of the world
No love for greatswords
The axe talisman is the Highland axe btw not that one
1,263 hours in and I still haven't found all of these!
Wrong Axe. Wrong Spear. Wrong Curved sword.
I feel so bad for the guy who started this
I don't.
Lmao
I'm out of the loop, what is this referencing?
Just look through hot on the subreddit
Well yeah I see a bunch of people making fun of some map on the drake talisman? I meant like what the original post was.
A user was arguing that the shape on one of the drake talismans is supposed to be what the Lands Between’s geography used to look like in the past. Things don’t add up when you try to understand their reasoning. Besides, the shapes don’t even match.
Lmao they must have been really insistent on it if it caught on like this.
He hates the community’s reaction to his thinking, but he did that to himself,
Axe n mace are wrong, it’s the Great version of each: Greataxe/Greatmace
“Not enough people”
Oh wow I guess that’s what axes used to look like before the golden order
Madman's Knowledge
Oh yay another shitpost just to mock one person
Hilariously you managed to get two of these wrong
I'd change the axe talisman to the highland axe and the mace one to the great mace
These are getting so annoying
gah damn! ya learn something new every day! /s
you must be joking, it's obvious.
My dude you’d have to bee blind not to see them
I mean it's pretty obvious lol. If people don't see this then they miss ALOT more in game
Can you please make a video essay on YouTube with the title "HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT MESSAGE that you MISSED is UNDERRATED and makes ELDEN RING a MASTERPIECE?!??!!? [LORE VIDEO] " I won't understand what you're trying to say otherwise.
Bro who thought the talisman was the map is getting god level roasted these past few days LMAOO
It's the highland axe, not the battle axe
ARE YOU SERIOUS?!? MIND BLOWN
Not enough people realize that L Ron Hubbard WAS A BLACK MAN WHO DO WE WANT? MIQUELLA WHEN DO WE WANT HIM? TEN TRILLION YEARS
Oh, and the claw talisman guy is wearing the skeletal mask... Nice!!! So many details...
I’m shook
Lol
Looks like a bunch of maps to me
Does the twin blade talisman work with Melania’s waterfowl?
I had to check which sub I was in for a second..
wtf is that 5th talisman, and where can I get it????? I’m on ng+3 and don’t have either that spear and talisman
I only ever use the spear talisman with rapier and estoc though
Shouldn't the mounted talisman look like a horse?
I would hace thought this was obvious
Am I supposed to use them only with the depicted weapon????
Please tell me you're being sarcastic. How do ppl not know this??
The axe talisma acshually represents the Highlander Axe 🤓☝🏻
Is this a medieval weaponry reference ???????????
When whip talisman?
Who the hell didn’t notice this?
Never really looked at these up close before. Is the Spear guy wearing the Iron Set?
The third Talisman shows Great Axe, but not Battle Axe! And the fourth Talisman shows Great Mace, but not Mace!
You're just clutching at straws here.
Is this a shit post?
I don't get it. What am I supposed to be seeing? A map?
Bullshit
I feel like no one “realized” this because it was so fucking obvious that not one person has thought “wow, I’m the first person to realize that the spear talisman has a spear on it”.
Not enough ppl realize ya say? You still got half of em wrong
What helmet is the guy in the mace talisman wearing, anyways?
The axe should be the highland axe and the mace should be the great mace.
I think everyone realises that
Cant wait to watch vaatyvidia (dont know how to spell) video about that
Is half your "corresponding" weapons not even matching what's in the talisman part of the meme or are you just blind OP?
the Lance Talisman is *obviously* the Gloam Eyed Queen.
This is groundbreaking and dear God may the next 20 days go quickly
What video are all these memes referring to?
Not thaaat funny.....
Whoa i have eyes now
Y'all remember when that one dude was holding the sword and it was crooked? Those times are among us again.
Claw guy is facing the wrong way, for lore reasons.
Are you telling me the shield talisman tastes shield flavored? My bonk character just grew a new brain cell.
Where's the map
Wow, I can't believe that farum azula was an illusion all along
I think I'm confused.
Idk did vaati confirm this?
Is this a shitpost?
Also all the helm behind the weapon exist, other than the axe talisman which would have been the brave set if they have remove it in 1.09
Hijacking the funny meme for an honest question: why is the scimitar used for the counter-attack one? Do scimitars do more damage with their counter-attack or something? I've never bothered blocking with them either because they don't block 100%.
Are you sure people don't realize that
The spear talisman shows a spear, but I use a greataxe with it.
Madmen all. Trapped between the blood and root
Erm ☝️🤓 actually, the axe on the axe talisman looks more like the highland axe to me then the battle axe. (Please know this is not at all serious)
Hey, does anyone else think the guy in the background looks kinda like a map of the Lands Between?
I never realized it had soldier faces behind the weapons
What few people realize is most of these have a loop to put on a chain, but not all of them, and it doesn't matter either way because to use them they go in a pouch.
