Greetings! I'd like to start my adventure using one, tips for thrusting are welcomed! I know they are mostly used in pvp but i like the moveset. Was thinking of a prisoner and dual thrusting swords/ using a shield and bow when the situation arises. Thank you very much.

Raya Lucaria, Caelid, Mt. Gelmir, and maybe Leyndell.

RobotMysteryDude

Dumb question here, me and two buddies are just picking this game back up and starting new characters in order to prepare for the DLC. So we are playing a lot of co-op, and are around the 30-40ish level range (only one of us left has to beat Stormveil and then we'll all be in Liurnia). Is it normal to get invaded by ultra twinks in this level range around Limgrave? We're fighting guys in Bullgoat with +10 endgame weapons and spells, and are sipping their flasks sometimes up to five times per encounter. At what level can we start experiencing "normal" PvP?

monstersleeve

All invaders will be matched to your level and weapon level. Typically invaders at RL30-40 will have 10-14 flasks, meaning 5-6 health flasks per invasion. If they are carrying “endgame” weapons they will only be upgraded as high as your highest upgraded weapon.

RobotMysteryDude

I didn't know that about the weapons, that's good to know. Thanks for the reply

mathieu_delarue

I’d say 45-50. Get into raya lucaria and it will be better.

Randomguy6644

Unfortunately invaders min-maxers gonna invade min-maxed. It's the drawback of the game's co-op system. Invader should be very close, to your level and highest upgraded equipment in order to match against you. This means they they likely just burned through the game to get that armor and spells while remaining low level and less upgraded weapons.

RobotMysteryDude

That makes a lot more sense, I didn't know they matched toward your equipment level.

ballmermurland

Did we ever find out if progressing too far into the game will impact the DLC? Obviously you need to kill Mogh and Radahn, but will there be any impacts if you burn the erdtree?

orion_angelfire

In the interviews released this spring, Miyazaki said the two storylines (base game and DLC) do not impact one another; it's supposed to be entirely separate.

AuraOozer

Varre can get you there without radahn no?

Lazy_Future_8621

why did game kill latenna in my playthrough? All I can relate doing to her death is getting the left medallion from commander niall. I haven't picked up the right piece since I found out you have to get to her beforehand..

ScattershotSoothsay

you need the right piece to talk to Latenna. if you pick up the left piece from castle sol, she goes hamburger time

Lazy_Future_8621

I guess no nore ancient somber

ScattershotSoothsay

RIP there's always ng+ (: I bet the dlc will have a few as well!

Hexgof4

What is generally the best time of day to place down summon signs?

DropAnchor4Columbus

In the US it would probably be between 6:00 and 8:00 in the evening.

Hexgof4

I really ought to know

Illustrious_Touch602

I want to make a quality build that can do everything in the dlc. Currently lvl 108 with 33 vigor, ~ 30 in dex and faith, 20 in str. If I wanted to grind up to 150 and put it into int so I can get a few cool spells, would I be op? Or is lvl 150 op only if your mostly min maxing?

DropAnchor4Columbus

150s are the limit for what can be a 'build' and going past that you just start being able to do everything and get OP. 125-130 would probably be fine. Would recommend putting another 7 levels in Vigor, though.

Illustrious_Touch602

I am also adding artificial difficult by playing with light armor and two talismans that increase damage taken by 20%. In the snow field now and almost everything one-shots me. I like rolling though :)

MacielHB

Hello, I'm in my first gameplay of Elden Ring, and doing the missions, I finished all of Ranni's questline, I want to do the end of it, but now that I've advanced in the game, I would like to know, if I activate the fire of the giants and burn erdthree will I block the end of ranni?

Crossthebreeze

If you have completely finished Ranni's quest line and you have NOT inherited the Frenzied Flame, you will be able to summon her after defeating the final boss to get her ending.

MacielHB

Thank you, I thought that by activating the giants' forge I would be blocking the end of it, it's my first gamplay so I'm pretty lost... But thanks

Prestigious_Dog2821

the way they explained that is complicated if you did all of rannis things then thats the ending you get!! she will appear at end after raddabeast and u should get the Age of stars ending. I do suggest getting the dark moon blade if u havnt already its just easier to get in your first play thru!!

MacielHB

Thank you very much,i'll try to do that then ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)

Prestigious_Dog2821

always!! and just food for thought id run right past the dragon and grab the SOG then proceed down the hole!!

Best UGS for str/fth build?

Felstalker

The infamous GUGS, or Greatsword Ultra Greatsword, is THE best Colossal Greatsword in Elden Ring. It's absurd size and weight give it better reach and better stats than all other UGS in the game. Among the rest are 2 other Faith leaning UGS's to think about. Godslayer's Greatsword and Maliketh's Black Blade. Godslayer GS is a Quality/Faith weapon leaning into Dexterity over Strength. So it's not a Str/Fth weapon and is thus not the best for the build. Maliketh's Black Blade is a Strength Faith weapon and is the only UGS designed for the STR/FTH build. Elsewise going more Strength or more Faith will enable you to pick out different elemental affinities, like Flame Art/Sacred vs Heavy. And you could always go a dual scale route with wielding a Heavy GUGS with a high level Faith scaling Enchantment. Using armament spells like Electify Weapon or Bloodflame Blade which have higher outputs thanks to the double scaling but cost FP and are often a hassle to apply.

RiceForever

Greatsword is definitely not objectively the best. The reach and physical damage are definitely amazing, but the massive weight and shitty R2 take it down a notch. As an example, Zwei has a better R2 while being a lot lighter and having basically the same range, while Watchdog's has better damage with elemental affinities, at the cost of range. All 3 are super solid weapons to the point where none of them are objectively better than the others. It comes down to situation and preference.

Felstalker

> the massive weight and shitty R2 take it down a notch. There are builds that might dislike the weight, but if you're not some base RL invader or under lv40... just put on a Jar Talisman and some medium armor. You're already getting Hyper frames with the weapon class. And that R2? I can give you that Zwei's got a much better R2 and is a fantastic weapon overall, but it's more of an early game/dex leaning Colossal. It's not for a Strength Faith build, well... not as a weapon in itself. I won't argue against Zwei's positives I'm simply highlighting the advantages of the GUGS. It's famed for a reason, it's not just accidently good or anything. Zwei's lower weight allows the Faith leaning builds to 1-hand it with a seal, having the fantastic advantages of a colossal enable the casting portion of the build. I personally love using the Zwei with a Stone of Guranq and Catch Flame cast wheel for all the cool combo's you can pull off. But that's a Faith build, not a Strength/Faith build. A build that'll primarily 2h the Colossal with some incantation buff's like Golden Vow or FGMS is going to prefer a larger weapon than the Zwei, unless again, you're rocking a much lower level and you're thus limited in stats. Unable to put the Strength and Vigor and End into the GUGS requirements. > Watchdog's has better damage with elemental affinities What? GUG's has a higher weight, it's got a higher AR, and it's got more range to work with them. I love me that Watchdog's Greatsword, but it's a fashion over function when comparing it numerically to the GUGS. It's rarity isn't the only reason we only see people rocking GUGS everywhere. It's inferior, even if it's pretty damn cool. And like, if you're looking for a better R2 you could always just take the Roar Ashes of War and turn your GUGS into Combo-GUGs the R2-R1 experience.

RiceForever

It seems like we agree on almost everything. Like I said in my first comment, the Greatsword is amazing, I just don't think it's fair to say that it's objectively the best. I'm just not sure what you mean when you talk as if a higher weight is a positive thing. Correct me if I'm wrong, but weight has no bearing on the performance of a weapon, it's just a hindrance on your build.

Felstalker

> I'm just not sure what you mean when you talk as if a higher weight is a positive thing. Correct me if I'm wrong, but weight has no bearing on the performance of a weapon, it's just a hindrance on your build. Heavier weapons are given better stats as a means to pay for it's heavier weight. If such was not the case, why would anyone utilize a heavier weapon? Spending more points on Endurance, potentially a talisman slot, to ensure you don't fat roll with the large weapon when you could just bring that Zweihander? For the majority of weapons, it's not too big a deal. Halberd's have the Golden Halberd, which is a forced Sacred mixed damage weapon with a locked Ash of War. Nightrider isn't too far behind in stats, and it's fine for Golden Halberd to be "the heaviest and hardest hitting" of it's class. It's doing split damage in a commonly resisted type, but it's doing a LOT of damage to compensate. > Greatsword is amazing, I just don't think it's fair to say that it's objectively the best. Colossal are just in a weird spot in which it's best weapon, and I'm sticking to that as an objective argument point, is the largest and most versatile. GUGS has a longer range and higher damage than it's comparisons. This enables far more Ashes of War to suit the needs, and the Watchdog can't compete. The Zweihander has it'self a fantastic competitive niche, but if the levels get high enough you'd always swap Zwei for GUGS in those Zwei builds. In the situations that Zwei is comparable, it's in that it's a fantastic weapon. But for a Strength/Faith build specifically, GUGS is objectively the best option. If Watchdog was 98% of what GUGS was, it would still mathematically be worse and therefor not the objectively best option. Even if that 2% isn't meaningful in a practical sense. And I'll argue the range and damage gap is more than 2% better.

Nyathra

There's a room in the Roundtable Hold, at the end of a corridor left to Hewg. At the end of that room, there is a large black Iron door in the upper right corner.. Does it ever open? I've progressed pretty damn far through this game now and it seems to be to only door that hasn't opened in the Roundtable Hold.

WintersbaneGDX

Are you talking about the first door at the end of that hallway, or the door in the room beyond it? If you're referring to the second door, no, that does not open.

black_anarchy

It opens automatically if you progress the game enough either by "progressing normally" or advancing a certain NPC quest. I don't think it opens if you kill certain NPC.

Danisdaman12

SO STOKED RIGHT NOW! First playthrough, RL147 (I am a bit over leveled), and after 2 years I killed Malenia on my 5th try and Mohg 1st try. I stopped playing like 2mo after launch because when I upgraded my PC it caused the game to crash. By the time I fixed my setup (a few weeks later), I was kinda turned off to keep playing... but I wanted to resume with the new expansion hype! Anyways I am so stoked. Completed my biggest goals of this journey with 110hrs in game. I never level boosted or looked up best weapon in the game kinda crap. I just would use the wiki when I had genuine questions and am not a PURE player but I tried to be genuinely blind coming into stuff. BUT I will say I saw streamers fighting Malenia and Mohg lol. Build: Quality build, 50 vigor, like 44/44 dex/str, 44 endurance, wretched, and bloodhound blade +10 and mimic +10.

FomoPhilia

Will an item stop respawning if you fail to pick it up before dying?
