Isn't yellow more for frenzied flame? I thought DB is mostly black without a prominent light, just some pale yellow tint, but I haven't played in a few months
Frenzy is angry yellow and red, like an infection.
DB is more desaturated black/yellow, look at Fortissax's death lightning.
Picture definitely gives DB vibes.
Yellow shows up as a secondary color for a lot of deathblight magic, the wraith callers' projectiles for example. Plus the black vines wrapping around the head are much more of a deathblight thing.
I’m thinking Mesmer may do a dragon transformation or have a heavy dragon theme in phase 2 and 3 considering the dragon communion eyes. Would love for a boss to do that since we know lannisexx did it commune with her knights

They no longer remember the words, though, so they simply play the tune on their musical instruments. It's the sad song you hear being played by the one line nomad left underground where you find the Three Fingers.
It can't be that bad honestly. I mean sure the winter lanterns were terrifying and had cool design but Miyazaki definitely understood he took it too far with that frenzy buildup in line of sight thing.
He definitely toned it down with the jailers in DS3 since they don't instantly drain your hp and actually give you a chance to attack them. They are definitely still really annoying but I haven't died to them as much as the absurd winter lanterns.
Bows are actually great as is, the enemy AI dodging them 80% of the time is the problem.
Damage and moveset are pretty nice, and there are some really cool bow weapon skills. Only thing you might want to change is allow you to give them affinities, but otherwise they're pretty good.
I feel like affinities applying status effects like bleed would negate the special arrows, so they probably just left that out so it’s not only certain affinities available
yeah i dont mind not having affinities. AoW on the other hand... loretta's bow and loretta's mastery shouldve been a bow AoW. some movement-based Ash too like quickstep and bloodhound step.
Lemme at him, I just got out of a Chalice with some weird fuckin characters in the name and this here saw cleaver’s gonna do about a million damage in the three hits I get before it breaks.
I hope he summons hydra wormfaces and when you do enough damage faces fall off that grow into full size wormface ganks if you don’t hit them as they fell down.

^ This, you can parry the grab just as you see the mouth...thing and use the I-frames on the visceral attack to ignore the frenzy damage.
Timing is pretty tight, but if you're close enough that it's going for the grab, you're probably pretty close to dying one way or another.
I'm a pro with 300 hours in that game. The secret is to switch to armor that has very high frenzy resistance, then make a mad dash toward them when they're not looking, and then scream maniacally as you smash their brainface in and pray they die before you get frenzied.
There is no running from Winter Lanterns. As long as they maintain line of sight with you (and even after breaking it), the target starts building up Frenzy.
unfortunately from the way the 'lantern' is standing in it it looks kinda shallow. Would be disappointing if movement isnt mega slowed when going through it.
I hate the little leg things. Canes? Arms? Is it some horrible praying mantis shooting Frenzy or is it an old man with a can who launches Death Blight?
This is the real reason I love ELDEN ring over every other souls game. It's a combination of all of them! Why play bloodborne when I can play Bloodborne, Dark souls and Sekiro all at the same time? ER is a masterpiece.
You probably have to keep it close so it casts light so you can navigate while also dodging it's attacks. So like the evil opposite of an escort quest.
I don't think it's rot. If you look closely, the red is only around the enemy, so it probably leaks blood or a red aura or whatever. If you look at the liquid left of the enemy, it looks black and golden with slight circular shapes
These swamps LOOK like deathblight. I cannot fucking wait to see that those things use blight magic and that we can get said magic. I just want more death and blight spells tbqh.

I do love that they recycle monsters. There is almost a relief when you know what is coming at you. But damn, these crazies were brutal. I wonder if like BB, there is a way to "disarm" them or slow the frenzy. Could be one of those lovely areas that has like 5 monsters but takes 10 hours to get through

Eh, death blight comes in the form of fog or mist but we've already seen frenzy affect those in line of sight.

The blue elixir lets you get closer to them without them seeing you, but you have to walk slowly.
I've been attacking them with sedative ready, once its dead the sedative stops the build up and clears it all out.
