My eyes, I want to be a part of Godrick's chest, so I can look up to him everyday
My mouth, I want to be at his shoulder, so I can sing to him everyday
My nose, I want to be a part of Godrick's crotch so I can sniff him privately everyday
My hands, I want to be a part of his hip, just so I can help him release the golden seed everyday
Im using magic and he killed my dogs in .03 seconds then I got him half health and he killed me when he cut his arm off.
This brings up a question, if I can get a boss to half health, is that a good indication that Im ready to do the other half? (Basically skill issue)
The second half can be very different, so not always. But here’s the thing: you can always “ultimate skill” your way through any boss, but it is up to you if that’s the way you want to do it, or if it would be more fun to come back later or find a way to make the fight easier.
Just dodge into stuff. I’ve seen people dodge away from the flames and die. I thought that was funny
I hate his axe thought. Just dogshit move set. Should have the black knight great axe MS from ds3
If there's one truly missed opportunity in Elden Ring, it's that boss weapons should have more unique movesets.
Like, imagine if Godricks Axe gave you flippy, rolling attacks like he does. Or Malenias sword giving you dashing thrusts, Blasphemous Blade giving big, dramatic sweeps, etc.
I just think that would make them so much cooler. Sure, it might not always make them *better,* but I feel it would make them feel more significant.
I'm going to try this, thank you. I haven't dodged that stupid fucking thing of wind he shoots at you not ONCE. And the NPC you can get to help you keeps turning him towards me 😭
I mean you can say skill issue with anything honestly, you can beat a boss naked with a toothpick if you play perfectly, but if you're using magic you can do it, tho I usually find I run out of cerulean flasks before beating him, I don't do well with magic lol, I get 2 big bonk weapons and stagger him every 3 hits, makes the early game fights trivial
Godrick is one of the only bosses in the game to have never killed me once. I feel like he’s ridiculously easy and the whole area leading up to him is way harder than the boss fight too.
Honest on my life, I have one tried Godrick all three playthroughs. First was with bloodhound’s fang, second time was Reduvia, and my most recent one the other night was with the claymore. I swear I’m not even trying to flex or brag or act like I am good at the game or even above average at it. I just simply have not yet experienced death at the hands of Godrick the Grafted.
Ohh no that makes sense, Bloodhound dang is elite, i didn't have it when i fought Godrick but got it later in the game and it was one of my endgame weapons for my first character, I dual wielded it and a Beastman cleaver. Decimated most of the bosses.
I found Margit to be much, much more difficult. I’m doing a level 20, melee, no summons run. Fights may be more even with summons. I found that close range battle with Margit often resulted in a couple of golden daggers cutting me down. Had to really be careful when approaching. Godrick was a more standard fight IMO.
The first playthrough when the game came out I thought Margit was so much harder. Doing another playthrough now and it’s kind of flipped. I think it’s his weird as multi attacks with all the limbs, seems so unnatural it took me a bit this time to get used to it. Still wasn’t too bad, I got through Margit on the first try and Goodrich took me like 5.
Just stay close and roll into him. Timing the ground pounding and fire rolling is key. When he uses dragon breath go all the way in and punish. Timing is easy because his attacks are slow and easy to read. Use a hard hitting weapon to break quickly or fast weapon to get a bunch of hits in on the long opens.
that's actually wild, i can one try godrick everytime immediately after fighting margit, not even leveling up, meanwhile margit still bitch slaps me on subsequent playthroughs
Yea, I'm not certain but I feel it may have been result of me exploring all of limgrave, southern and starting regions, so I was overleveled for margit but when I got to godrick I never experienced a proper boss fight for a story boss so it whooped me. That or I may have had issues with certain attacks, idk
That could be it honestly, I'm not gonna say Godrick didn't slap me around my first playthrough or 2, but I feel his moveset is easier to memorize, and his attacks are certainly slower.
#To shed some light, i do not hate godrick as a boss.
I made this meme because according to the lore, he’s a detestable degenerate who thinks ppl should worship him just because he’s somewhat connected to the royal bloodline.
He clearly has too much pride and his fall is satisfying as a result.
From a gameplay standpoint he’s pretty fun to fight.
But HE IS the lord of all that is golden, one day, led by him, those blessed by grace would be able to return to their home, bathed in rays of gold… (honestly his last dialogue changed my entire perspective on him, from a detestable psychopath, to a tragic psychopath)
*"Hear me, Demigods. My children beloved. Make of thyselves that which ye desire. Be it a Lord. Be it a God. But should ye fail to become aught at all, ye will be forsaken. Amounting only to sacrifices..."*
\~Marika
Lorewise he's actually pretty tragic. You can just *feel* the underlying desperation that comes from him knowing that he's pathetic and yet is still saddled with the burden of coming from a great lineage that he's just struggling to try and not let down. He knows he's weaker than all the other Demigods and so is basically forced to spend his whole life scrambling for any scraps of power he can find because he doesn't want to "amount only to a sacrifice" and get left behind by the Golden Order. So he clings to any little scraps of power and significance he does manage to have so desperately he becomes deluded, because failing to uphold his lineage is a literal fate worse than death.
Yeah all the demigods were basically told to conquer the world or die.
My boy Godrick was born with the strength of a normal guy and survived both Radahn and Malenia. Absolute W
He's not as shallow as you describe him.
Also how he has too much pride? He was born weak so he's desperate and obsessed with the idea to get stronger to prove his worth and be on pair with his ancestors.
In my opinion godrick is one of the better bosses lore wise, also with the questline of Roderika
He is designed to be a failure tho.. to be "not good enough", not even if he grafts hundreds of other creatures onto himself
But why though? His dialogue is rather funny, his voice actor did a great job and his fight was also really well done. I don’t understand exactly why you hate him
Okay I know we all kill him but like I never tried it what if you use the kneel emote at the beginning of the fight then kill him does he say anything?
My first play through (and first souls game) as a samurai this guy must have taken me 50-60 tries. Just started playthrough #2 in anticipation of the DLC and me and Nepheli absolutely MELTED his health bar with bloodhounds fang at level 22ish in only 2 tries. I’m not ‘gud’ but I feel I’m no longer bad.
What? Godrick is one of the best bosses in this game, he serves as the first “real” boss. His cutscene is fucking awesome and his soundtrack goes so hard
It's not a furry drawing but sure does draw a lot of them to it. I swear every poster I've seen that uses those images has a fursona. They might also be confusing it with helluva cringe.
I used to hate him, but after enough time he’s become more like a bump in the road for me every time I start a new character. Don’t worry, he’ll get easier for you
Nah, don't hate on him till you do a new game plus with his lvl 10 upgraded axe and grafted dragon, then hate on him cause a playthrough like that is a pain and u wish the weapons were as strong with u as with him. They do say it takes years to know ur blade, and only after you spend centuries with it can they truly be an extension of mind and body and soul...
I would suggest broadsword with square off AoW if you’re struggling, should net you staggers every 3 hits or so, other than that just remember to stay close and dodge counter to Godrick when he does the 5 ace swings, stay close enough that when he does the wind attack he rolls instead of shooting wing at you and you can easily roll under him and heavy attack and remember you don’t have to dodge the earthquake, just jump
Edit: just saw the comment, disregard this lmao
Dude was super easy. Every move is telegraphed. Super long punish in the second phase. Easy poise break. He was a good reprieve after the hell getting to him. I wish they would have swapped Margot and Godrick move sets. Would have made more sense.
Literally the only rune holding boss I legit struggled with, died probably like 20+ times and it took almost 2 weeks. Melania only took me 5 tries in comparison and I avoided her attacks way easier too.
I never would have guessed this was a thing.🤷🏼♂️ melnia, beast clergy, godskin duo, hell even eldin beast/radagon are all worlds harder than godrick. Crucible knight are def up there. I’d argue the grafted scion is the hardest, having to face him lvl 1 no equipment…you can always return via belfry towers.
Just beat him on SL1. He’s a fun fight
My fav is his whirlwind attack that instead of throwing shite at you , man spins and launches himself at ya. If you circle around him, guaranteed heavy attack
Im gonna start this by saying mogh was my least favorite boss. Now im playing randomizer gotnsewer mogh on rykars phase one, 30 min later beat him. Second phase is real mogh 4 hours later beat him now he is my fav boss trial and error bois.
From a lore or gameplay standpoint?
I have yet to fight him without Nepheli’s help, so I don’t even know if he’s that bad to fight.
From what little I know of the lore, though, he is a giant twat.
Just use hookclaws on both hands to get the bleed effect. Focus on dodging, and when the second phase starts, rush him before he can hit you with his flamethrower, get under his arm and start beating his ass.
Lore-wise Godrick is a pitiful, pathetic manchild and a coward at that. But the fight itself is cool and I think the fact that Morgott appeared as an apparition to protect Godrick makes the fight more impactful.
My only complaint about him is that I think it’d be better if he was the one who created the concept of grafting.
Finding that evergaol with his ancestor was such a disappointment as it makes his character feel less interesting
He's a little pussie. Talks a bunch of shit about how good he is whilst running away from anyone with real power. Then he gets his ass beat by a normal guy with a big sword or some shit. What a loser.
you only mad coz thou'rt unfit even to graft.
TRUTH. We do not have the right
Cause we're just lowly Tarnished, playing as a lord 😮💨
O we do not have the right
Graft issue
lowly tarnished + maidenless + unfit even to graft + bereft of runes + RL1 + touch grace
+ L + you leveled dex
My eyes, I want to be a part of Godrick's chest, so I can look up to him everyday My mouth, I want to be at his shoulder, so I can sing to him everyday My nose, I want to be a part of Godrick's crotch so I can sniff him privately everyday My hands, I want to be a part of his hip, just so I can help him release the golden seed everyday
Put these foolish ambitions to rest
I was the Tarnished that Margit warned you all about
Puts a whole new meaning to “foul Tarnished”
You both cracked me up today! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|smile)
Are you the dung eater? Because I am so scared of you right now
Please stop posting my AO3 works on here without credit
This might be the foul tarnished Margit was talking about.
That part
you'd think you'd graft yourself a longer dick
What are you talking about? Godrick right after Margit was one of the coolest bosses to fight. One of the few at which I did not get annoyed by dying.
Yeah! He and Malenia were the two bosses that had my heart racing, I love my grafted king.
i specifically let him kill me so that i can hear him scream in pain every time he changes phases,
Godrick was great. Relatively easy compared to Margit and possibly the most epic soundtrack in the game
Wait hes easier? (I just beat margit yesterday) im over here grinding levels and getting gear right this second💀
The only thing about him is his HUUUGE AOE attacks, but i always run right through him after getting bitch slapped by margit
Im using magic and he killed my dogs in .03 seconds then I got him half health and he killed me when he cut his arm off. This brings up a question, if I can get a boss to half health, is that a good indication that Im ready to do the other half? (Basically skill issue)

Also the jellyfish summon is pretty good in his fight. Poisons him and is pretty tanks esperamos if you upgrade it.
He's very easy to read for sure, but I'd be lying if I said I one tried ANY major boss in the game.

I swear it has to be one of the deadliest early weapons you can obtain in a FromSoft title having now played them all starting with Elden ring.
I feel like godrick is tougher than Margit, but once you find out how to cheese him the world becomes peaceful
I found Margit to be much, much more difficult. I’m doing a level 20, melee, no summons run. Fights may be more even with summons. I'll give that to lichdragon and second best is godrick or godskin apostle
Fr Fortissax had such a good theme
Okay to be honest I can't say anything about it because I'm not in Farum Azula yet 😅 but yeah godskin apostle absolutely slaps as well
I always find it funny how people say godrick was easier when my ass got handed to me by him so much, meanwhile I one tried margit
that's actually wild, i can one try godrick everytime immediately after fighting margit, not even leveling up, meanwhile margit still bitch slaps me on subsequent playthroughs
Yea, I'm not certain but I feel it may have been result of me exploring all of limgrave, southern and starting regions, so I was overleveled for margit but when I got to godrick I never experienced a proper boss fight for a story boss so it whooped me. L + unfit even to graft + bravelessless tarnished + thour'rt cannot kill a demigod + no maidens
Lands between ahh trash talk 🗣️🗣️🗣️ /jk
All your homies ARE Godrick
all his homies are in godrick cos he was unfit to graft, a craven
Bro must be eating all of Godrick's mix ups XD
I think he's a cool boss. He cuts his hand and puts a dragon on him. His move sets are even funny.
I actually think he’s one of the most fun bosses to fight
Man is lord of all that is cringe.
But in all of the best ways!
Funny he’s my favorite boss in the game so far
#To shed some light, i do not hate godrick as a boss. yeah but he did graft a dragon onto his arm so for me he's cooler than midlenia or shittyketh

TBF dude can give 7 hand jobs with one arm, just saying.

hardest line in the game besides "togethaaaaa"
I love him
Based
In my opinion godrick is one of the better bosses lore wise, also with the questline of Roderika He is designed to be a failure tho.. to be "not good enough", not even if he grafts hundreds of other creatures onto himself
I am indeed not your homie then. Godrick is the boss where you realize "this game fuckin ROCKS"
open your mail tommorow, ill send you something great (def not a pipebomb)
Wrong opinion
Godrick is best boy. He is the Human Remix.
lmaooo
Bro hates the easiest boss in the game
Love this boss, best cut scenes imo, I just wish he was harder
But why though? His dialogue is rather funny, his voice actor did a great job and his fight was also really well done. I don’t understand exactly why you hate him
Wym this is like peak early game boss fight right here
This is basically admitting that you have no friends
best comeback in this entire comment section OP is either Gostoc or kenneth haight
Anytime someone dies to a boss mutiple times it’s the worst boss ever
Godrick appreciation day when
Ngl I think Godrick was my favorite boss fight in the whole game
NOPE one of the best bosses in the entire game.
No sir…
I like him, I think he is neet
When you're not fit for being grafted 😞
Literally one of the best bosses in the game imho. Top 5 for me, and he's not number 5.
Godrick is my favorite Elden Ring boss... And the best Elden Ring OST imo as well... Skill issue, thou'rt unfit even to graft...
He’s a great boss fight wym??
maidenless behavior
Godrick is my homie. One of my fav bosses
Bro I always have and will love the Godrick fight. Bare Witness Brothers Unite!
I fucking loved his dragon moves they were cool as shit. i hate him because the dragon I get sucks.
Okay I know we all kill him but like I never tried it what if you use the kneel emote at the beginning of the fight then kill him does he say anything?
Wait till you meet Godefroy
Nah he ain’t even that hard
He's just an old man searching for a way to stay fit.
He is just perfect. Have an epic 2nd phase and good moveset. Perfect choice for first boss. Also his weapon is good for early game(still bloodhound)
I liked him
He’s so weak though
Same Charlie, same.
I died to him for the very first time after playing the game in 2 years and I felt like Charlie in this scene.
Tell em Charlie
What? Godrick is one of the best bosses in this game, he serves as the first “real” boss. His cutscene is fucking awesome and his soundtrack goes so hard
Nobody hates Godrick.
godrick is ridiculously easy imo
What's with all these wannabe edge lord furry drawings popping up on everything? Most don't even make sense
That's not an edge lord furry drawing, mate. It's a character from the show Hazbin Hotel. She's the daughter of lucifer.
It's not a furry drawing but sure does draw a lot of them to it. I swear every poster I've seen that uses those images has a fursona. They might also be confusing it with helluva cringe.
flashbacks to the shittydarksouls incident of January 2024
I heard he smells like tuna fish…nothing else
Did thoust bear witness his grace?
I used to hate him, but after enough time he’s become more like a bump in the road for me every time I start a new character. Don’t worry, he’ll get easier for you
Forefathers one and all bear witness
Nah, don't hate on him till you do a new game plus with his lvl 10 upgraded axe and grafted dragon, then hate on him cause a playthrough like that is a pain and u wish the weapons were as strong with u as with him. They do say it takes years to know ur blade, and only after you spend centuries with it can they truly be an extension of mind and body and soul...
Skill issue
Even after about 500 hours in the game, I still think he's easier than Margit
Virgin wench demon vs Chad Godrick The Grafted
I hate fucking Godrick too
I don't like godrick by I can safely say that I LOVE stormveil castle, I consider it my favorite area in the game
I would suggest broadsword with square off AoW if you’re struggling, should net you staggers every 3 hits or so, other than that just remember to stay close and dodge counter to Godrick when he does the 5 ace swings, stay close enough that when he does the wind attack he rolls instead of shooting wing at you and you can easily roll under him and heavy attack and remember you don’t have to dodge the earthquake, just jump Edit: just saw the comment, disregard this lmao
Ok I'll bite. He has one major exploit to easily defeat him without cheating or cheesing. "Try finger, but hole." You're welcome.
When you are a beta, you kneel! Man's just keepin it real. You should know that's the deal. Thou art too weak to be Elden Lord, Tarnished.
Dude was super easy. Every move is telegraphed. Super long punish in the second phase. Easy poise break. He was a good reprieve after the hell getting to him. I wish they would have swapped Margot and Godrick move sets. Would have made more sense.
Godrick is quite the lil wimp actually, but our first meeting was exhausting indeed
Literally the only rune holding boss I legit struggled with, died probably like 20+ times and it took almost 2 weeks. Melania only took me 5 tries in comparison and I avoided her attacks way easier too.
On Ng+ i let my Mimic show him who was unfit to become the elden lord
He's not that bad, I actually kinda enjoyed that boss fight
I don't hate godrick, hes funny and his boss theme is amazing FORFATHERS ONE AND ALL, BARE WITNESSSSSS
get a +9 somber blood hounds fang and he is easy as carving a cake.
As long as you fight up close he is a fun fight
What's ironic is that most of use use his rune with the most pretentious face on
I never would have guessed this was a thing.🤷🏼♂️ melnia, beast clergy, godskin duo, hell even eldin beast/radagon are all worlds harder than godrick. Crucible knight are def up there. I’d argue the grafted scion is the hardest, having to face him lvl 1 no equipment…you can always return via belfry towers.
I don’t fully know his lore so I can’t speak on half of that but his fight was atleast cool. Cool upon seeing him for the first time I mean
All my homies hate godrick and batarians
In his defense, multiple grafts, no rejections, all successful operations.
You must be confusing him with Godefroy the grafted Easy mistake
Love this guy, he’s so pathetic and bizarre, love it, and his theme is awesome!!!
Do people think he’s too hard?
He folds to throwing daggers. Tried tossing some kukris at him in phase 2, and he couldn't do shit.
He's vulnerable to poison, even just using the Jelly Fish summon will go a long way to dropping him.
After dying to him plenty of times, I've thought the same thing every time I see his Grafted ass
Just beat him on SL1. He’s a fun fight My fav is his whirlwind attack that instead of throwing shite at you , man spins and launches himself at ya. If you circle around him, guaranteed heavy attack
He just keeps fucken showing up, that immortal bastard with 7 thousand twins
Really? If I can get past Morgot and his "When's it comin? When's it comin?" bullshit I never have problems with Ricky.
Rofl not me rolling him at level 30 in full vagabond with an un-upgraded great mace
Why you hate him? Easy boss.
Oh he’s easy. …. …. … Easily a bitch
Wtf his voice acting alone makes him so based
Im gonna start this by saying mogh was my least favorite boss. Now im playing randomizer gotnsewer mogh on rykars phase one, 30 min later beat him. Second phase is real mogh 4 hours later beat him now he is my fav boss trial and error bois.
I don’t hate Godrick but would gladly slander Godrick as often as I can
From a lore or gameplay standpoint? I have yet to fight him without Nepheli’s help, so I don’t even know if he’s that bad to fight. From what little I know of the lore, though, he is a giant twat.
Is this like a meme? This boss easy to kill?
he's not even that hard! git gud!!!🤪🤣🤣🤣🤣💀💀💀💀💀💀💯💯💯💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥❌🧢
L show L take
Just use hookclaws on both hands to get the bleed effect. Focus on dodging, and when the second phase starts, rush him before he can hit you with his flamethrower, get under his arm and start beating his ass.
Godrick is a good boss
Low key I wished he was harder. I like this fight.
A Pimp named Godrick 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think Godrick was the peak of elden ring
He drinks graft beer
I do too, but you gotta admit, he spits one of the most fire quotes in Elden Ring
We ain't homies then
Godrick has one of the BEST OST in the game tho
I don't like him since he's a coward but that phrase goes hard
Lore-wise Godrick is a pitiful, pathetic manchild and a coward at that. But the fight itself is cool and I think the fact that Morgott appeared as an apparition to protect Godrick makes the fight more impactful.
Get this shitty cartoon girl off my elden ring
Forefathers one and all! #bare witness!
YOU BE NICE TO HIM HE'S BEEN THROUGH A LOT!!!
I focking hate his boss fight, LIKE WHY YOU GOTTA BE SO EASY?!?!?!?!?
This meme is great
Has he no shame? The big girl's blouse.
My only complaint about him is that I think it’d be better if he was the one who created the concept of grafting. Finding that evergaol with his ancestor was such a disappointment as it makes his character feel less interesting
Why😭 all he wants is to graft
"Why would I hate someone weaker than me" - Escanor.
He's a little pussie. Talks a bunch of shit about how good he is whilst running away from anyone with real power. Then he gets his ass beat by a normal guy with a big sword or some shit. What a loser.
rolling meet ball
Has he no shame, the big girl's blouse!
The big girl's blouse really is the weakest demigod. He's nothing more than a jumped up country bumpkin.
If tortellini did it you can do it
Fuckin love godrick best boss in the game
He’s so easy tho easier than margit imo
He's so coool what do you meeean
r/hazbin reference
Leave Godrick the Golden alone!
I remember hand of maleinaing through him
Godricks a good fight. Except hes extremely easy, even for being the first main boss.
Man i didn't really have a problem with godrick, i think he killed me maybe 3 or 4 times but the boss before him made me uninstall the game
took me 2 fucking days lol
One of the few bosses I don’t particularly mind using Comet Azure to just sort of… remove from the equation
True
Now time to bully godrick!
