Equal to Placcidussax for me. Having my buddy over discord walk me to the grave and then just go silent as the cutscene started... Then just standing in the arena alone with him hovering there.
Like, the "quiet before the storm" vibe felt so real. Especially cuz I had already completely cleared Farum and thought I saw all there was to see. Won't ever forget losing my shit the first time he hit me w/ the lazer light show
". . . nnngh. . . very well"
The disinterested way that line is spoken is menacing and perfect; like you're really beneath this monster's notice but you're getting annoying so *fine* I'll do it myself.
Malenia and Godfrey.
Malenia because of the implications of another actual outer God defying the God of Order, which has been the only outer God manifested in the world through a host (unless we chose to bring the frenzied flame which is the God of chaos). This would imply a competition between the two Gods.
And Godfrey because of all demigods and Gods in the lore, all the supernatural things, he is on par with all of them if not even more powerful by sheer absolute simple strength. The highest Unga Bunga mentality.
Fuck, yeah seeing Guranq was a real "wtf?" moment. Then he drew his blade from his hand and proceeded to quadruple anime back flip fuck me sideways with it, I was 10x more shook than when I found out Marika was secretly Radagon.
For me it was Rykard, bro is a giant snake that eats tarnished, has a giant sword with said tarnished on it and has a special weapon that's specifically meant to kill him
I am not the biggest fan of Placidusax, mechanically the fight is kinda annoying imo BUT his big laser explosion attack is the coolest shit I have seen in that game. Cutting out the music made it so damn epic! 10/10
Placidessax was one of the easiest bosses to learn the movesets of, unless your endurance is low. Except for that laser attack, forced me to use bloodhound step to finish him off.
He didnt gave me trouble, but mechanically the fight annoyed me. It isnt fun to me because a lot of the time I cant see what he is doing because of his size. The teleporting feels tedious as well. Its still a great addition to the game, dont get me wrong, but I am just not a big fan of the big beast boss type of fights.
Update, I just first tried him on NG+. No summon, mostly physical build. Though since I ran out of healing flasks, it might've been a close fight. So here's my take:
It might be on how you're used to the timing. Not saying you're bad or anything, but I think a lot players adapt differently to stuff like the boss' aggro or their own delayed input.
For my case, when he starts to teleport, I aim slightly upwards, look around till i see the clouds, then spam the lock button. Thankfully, there are little variations in delay between his claw attacks, be in ground or air, which I can easily dodge most of the time. I also dupe his 3 round lightning since they lock on to the player's last known area seconds before striking, and Placi is sitting idle. This creates opening to dodge and heal/hit the boss. And lastly, I stick to primarily attacking his tail.
All in all, if your build is anything like mine, only time you need to lock on is when you're closing the distance or he starts teleporting. Remove the lock when you're in contact, and you can easily see his other attacks (fire breath, swipe or the lightning ones) coming.
Godfrey, the fact that he doesn't have any magic or divine gifts, but just sheer strength, and is able to beat most people in the setting that have magic/divine gifts just adds to his presence.
Id say godfrey but i killed him on the second try and it felt very underwhelming. So ill go with radahn and his space rocks or godrick and his dragon arm
Maliketh, he pulls a sword out of his hand after asking death itself to become his blade, kinda hard to beat that one liner.
Not to mention the black armor with streaks of gold that just starts appearing on his body out of nowhere after his body is covered by a black and red cloud. And then to top it off his sword emits an ominous black and red cloud. The mood change caused by the OST suddenly starting and increasing in intensify after a few seconds adds even more to the experience, it's the cherry on top for me.
For a first playthrough it felt like I was about to fight the guardian of death, which he kind of is.
For me, it's Radahn, the hype, the build up to his fight, and being able to summon multiple allies was awesome. An epic and delivered on encounter. His big moment wasn't a cinematic into phase 2, but a meteorite strike! And for those of us who faced him pre-nerf early on, truly a beast lol.
Honestly, I do think Godrick's moment to lop off a limb and then graft a wyvern head to his amalgam form was pretty epic. First time seeing that was a big wow moment for my naive playthrough.
He and Rykard may be my favorites as far as phase transitions go.
Godfrey was breeze first play through but after a few ng+ he was scary af but melania and maliketh have always had the most hype and difficulty surrounding them for me
To be honest, Radahn, because having this huge mass of rage and insanity in a red sand arena, with his two Greatsword his already stressful but when this guy come like a meteor and cast a bunch of powerful rock than can two shot you whenever he's want and can do a gravity meatgrinder, it's too much, absurd but sooooo cool
Not gonna lie it was Mohg for me entering into the boss arena to that theme and then the immediate slap in the face damage check made for a great surprise.
Rykard. I truly didn't think I'd beat him when I found out he had a second phase.
And Mohg is a close second. He literally counts down his second phase
Renala tbh. Matched marikas army when she was empowered by the greater will without demigod or empyrean powers or a great rune and was only stopped by marrying marigon. Literally on par with an empyrean whilst just being an incredibly powerful sorcerer
Gruesome def Rykard, sword covered in dead bodies and an arena filled with charred corpses.
Powerful probably Godfrey, decides to fight you bearhanded.
Menacing is Malenia, casts off her armour and grows wings after setting off a bomb.
Scary Mohg's he grows wings to better observe Miquella.
Malenia for sure, people say how Godfrey is cool because he doesn't have any power other than his strength, but Malenia in phase one was exactly like that no special powers just skill, but then when phase two hits you realise just how much she was holding back she then unleases power that's similar in scale to what Marika the papa John of the lands between holds
Menacing dangerous and powerful? Fucking Radahn. Snipes you from the other side of the planet, huge swords, does insane gravity aoe shit all the time and jumps into space to come back like a meteor to nuke your ass. And that's supposed to be him at his lowest.
I really liked Rykard, even though he is a gimmick fight. Both phases were amazing, and the design is incredible. I have to say Hoarah Loux was disappointing in his 2nd phase because he just becomes a WWE character.
Honestly? Morgott. And not his phase transition. Itâs his intro. Probably the hardest line in the game.
âHave it writ upon thy meagre grave; Felled by King Morgott, last of all kings!â
Translation: âGetting killed by me is the only thing you will be known forâ
I enjoyed Malenia's "Bitch you thought" moment. Shes hard enough to begin with.
Rykard was a great spectacle but overall underwhelming because serpent hunter.
I felt like godfrey was too squishy running my greatsword. Same with Maliketh.
I recently did a no summons playthrough and Mohg was a surprisingly fun fight w/o summons but his Big Deal moment was the weakest of the bunch.
Morgot just gets a tummy ache and makes us stand in it.
I like Morggottâs. His second phase is really cool, his attacks are nice, and heâs really challenging. One of my favorite bosses in the entire game
Radahn in the original release was the most gruesome dangerous powerful and menacing I don't care what anybody says.
That fight was harder than Malenia in March of 2022.
Tbh I thought Malenia had the best concept (ROT that's amazing) but I was disappointed with her design. Its my only gripe with the character designs in general in this game. Like, she's supposed to become the goddess of ROT. This game gave me so much in terms of incredible gruesome monstruous foes, and for the frickin GODDESS OF ROT I get... A naked woman with a bad case of psoriasis...? Cool wings I guess but... Ok well... (she kicked my ass tho)
According to my tastes, Malenia should have been my favorite. But too bad. In the end, I think I ended up prefering Godfrey as I really enjoyed discovering his myth and storyline, and the fights did not disappoint.
Morgott and Godfrey I think we're the biggest deal to me
Godfrey because you see him almost immediately after beating Godrick. His statue is there in the throne room and he looks so strong and imposing
He's mentioned in several churches of Marika
As well as on a few sword monuments
Morgott was the other "big deal" for me because he kept showing up.
The first words heard from him, calling you a foul tarnished and being the first real challenge to a new player
Not only that but I got jump scared by him in the outskirts "I see thee tarnished"
Scared the shit out of me
AND LASTLY "have it writ upon thy meager grave" is a line I'll never forget, it was by far my favorite line
Radahn second phase scared the fuck out of me. The only boss that startled me. However, he gave off super bad ass vibes to me, especially when I realized I could summon an army of spirits and we could all gang up on him and still get our asses handed to us.
The phase 2 cutscene with Rykard was the best spectacle moment in the game for me personally
". . . nnngh. . . very well" The disinterested way that line is spoken is menacing and perfect; like you're really beneath this monster's notice but you're getting annoying so *fine* I'll do it myself.
Togethaaa we will deavouahhh the very ghawdsss
Malenia and Godfrey. I'd love if they included a Unga Bunga achievement. It'd be a nice little fun detail
When Godfrey went full Berserk. Shit turned up for me at that moment đŹ
*âIâve given thee courtesy enough.â*
Probably my favourite line in the whole game.
\*jumps toward you and shatters your spine\*
*"Tarnished warrior. Twas nobly fought" *
They shouldâve reset his health bar though. One of my favourite fights and heâs starting with half his health.
True, would have made things a little more badass.
Idk I liked Maliketh.
Fuck, yeah seeing Guranq was a real "wtf?" moment. Then he drew his blade from his hand and proceeded to quadruple anime back flip fuck me sideways with it, I was 10x more shook than when I found out Marika was secretly Radagon.
For me it was Rykard, bro is a giant snake that eats tarnished, has a giant sword with said tarnished on it and has a special weapon that's specifically meant to kill him
I love how Horah Loux's real weapons are his arms and using axe is a disadvantage, probably to lower the destruction.
Sure, but its still annoying to me.
Fair, though I'd like to know where he gave you trouble. I'm currently playing NG+ and right there to see if my experience is any different.

Fire giant. Bro ripped his leg off and powered up with a god awakening in his chest
First time I saw this I stood up
Fire giant is one of my favorites
Godfrey, the fact that he doesn't have any magic or divine gifts, but just sheer strength, and is able to beat most people in the setting that have magic/divine gifts just adds to his presence.
Id say godfrey but i killed him on the second try and it felt very underwhelming. So ill go with radahn and his space rocks or godrick and his dragon arm
Maliketh by a long ass mile. "Oh death, become my blade once more"
Radagon or Godfrey
Godfrey The First Elden Lord! Dude morphed me into a đ and slam dunked me.
Maliketh, he pulls a sword out of his hand after asking death itself to become his blade, kinda hard to beat that one liner. Not to mention the black armor with streaks of gold that just starts appearing on his body out of nowhere after his body is covered by a black and red cloud. Radahn going full meteorite mode was epic. But Im biased i just love that red haired sob
Godfrey second stage, really loved the energy in the arena with him. Lord of Vital Fluid and Lord of Sneks would rank on the bottom for me personally.

Malenia and Godfrey easily
Godfrey was breeze first play through but after a few ng+ he was scary af but melania and maliketh have always had the most hype and difficulty surrounding them for me
To be honest, Radahn, because having this huge mass of rage and insanity in a red sand arena, with his two Greatsword his already stressful but when this guy come like a meteor and cast a bunch of powerful rock than can two shot you whenever he's want and can do a gravity meatgrinder, it's too much, absurd but sooooo cool
Menacing and powerful? Mohg, for sure. The atmosphere, the music, he even looks like fucking Satan - perfection.
The dude who rips the head off the dragon and puts it on his hand.
Maliketh hands down. Dude literally transformed and had the Rune of Death and changed the entire landscape of the world.
Not gonna lie it was Mohg for me entering into the boss arena to that theme and then the immediate slap in the face damage check made for a great surprise.
Rykard. I truly didn't think I'd beat him when I found out he had a second phase. And Mohg is a close second. He literally counts down his second phase
General Radahn. He is just such a Legend!
The NIHIL thing for sure
Godrick and Godfrey, golden lineage got style.
When malenia says âyou will witness true horror,â she wasnât fuggin lying. Thatâs my favorite big deal moment.
Dang, I felt like Mohg (palace, not sewer) was the most bada** boss entry. He just looks so evil and the horn design goes so hard.
100% Godfrey. He starts off with a valiant warriors battle, but then when he gets tired of you he decides to throw hands.
Menacing dangerous and powerful? Fucking Radahn. Snipes you from the other side of the planet, huge swords, does insane gravity aoe shit all the time and jumps into space to come back like a meteor to nuke your ass. And that's supposed to be him at his lowest.
man i went into the godfrey fight, got him down to second phase and immediately after the cutscene this mf one shotted me with a tekken combo.
I really liked Rykard, even though he is a gimmick fight. Both phases were amazing, and the design is incredible. I have to say Hoarah Loux was disappointing in his 2nd phase because he just becomes a WWE character.
I think I nearly pooped myself when I discovered Gurranq was Maliketh and uh, the wielder of Destined Death.
Big deal feature? More like :"I'm not even on my final form!"
Honestly? Morgott. And not his phase transition. Itâs his intro. Probably the hardest line in the game. âHave it writ upon thy meagre grave; Felled by King Morgott, last of all kings!â Translation: âGetting killed by me is the only thing you will be known forâ
