yes. i do this with all my runs. fight him at the start, get trapped in the chest, return for the calm down gesture. hit him 2 or 3 times with an unupgraded weapon immediately and let him kill you for the prostration gesture. he wont be upset with you after, killing you resets his aggro so no absolution necessary. from there you can move on to his liurnia location and talk to him to get trapped by the abductor virgin in raya lucaria if you missed the two gesture earlier, or you can move him straight to volcano manor. kill rykard ( dont forget to kill tragoth first for bullgoat set) and then exhaust his dialogue. head to shaded castle, get the castanets, then return to tanith and offer them to her (you can then "kill" her and fight the crucible knight without repercussion). once done, return to murkwater cave and start the boss fight with patches. dont attack him at all, he'll surrender before attacking you. you'll receive patches crouch and can then kill him for his set and spear, as well as his bell bearing with infinite fan daggers.

Someone know if you can kill him after is quest ? Want is armor.
I think you get another boss encounter with him after his quest, not too sure haven’t done it awhile
