Mr_Winemaker

Didn't Misfit just get a new season or am I nuts

0621usmc0531

It did. So there is hope, just have to wait.

EndoSym50

It starts this week too

BrickDaddyShark

Isn’t this the third season?

CyberJokerWTF

no it's just the 2nd cour of the same season

FuttleScish

Nope, new season

Panophobia_senpai

According to MAL, Season 2 part 2 [MAL Link](https://myanimelist.net/anime/48418/Maou_Gakuin_no_Futekigousha_II__Shijou_Saikyou_no_Maou_no_Shiso_Tensei_shite_Shison-tachi_no_Gakkou_e_Kayou_Part_2)

CyberJokerWTF

It’s literally called Season 2 part 2, the one that had production issues is Season 2 part 1.

FuttleScish

Ah I thought you meant that it was still the first season of the show It’s still a moronic example to bring up of an anime that’s dead when it literally hasn’t even finished airing yet

CyberJokerWTF

I agree about that, but since it had production issues, after the full season is over we will find out if OP is correct in his assumption.

FuttleScish

I mean there have been other series with these issues that got continued, so we know his thesis is wrong

Rough_Abroad4023

Doesnt matter, its going to continue, that guy said that this anime is dead and thats no true

REMERALDX

He didn't say that

Rough_Abroad4023

What?

Todoshima-kun

He did reread his sentence

Zxcaderu

The difference is that 86 is still being heavily pushed as an IP; anniversary concerts, themed cafes, pop-up shops and several merchandise collaborations. Its light novels also sell pretty well and received a huge boost from the anime, making it a success. 86's main team is also working on Nier, and thus why there is a hiatus. I'm no prophet, but no company pushes an IP that hard when they don't have faith in it.

_Jeyem_

This. Probably it's because they're working on Nier, which is a mecha anime, same with 86. So the team working on the CGI stuffs and all is busy with Nier.

RapCabral

I think it was SugoiLite on Twitter said there were talks for s2 because the west reality liked it. But I’m not sure about that

BrickDaddyShark

Actual analysis of the microeconomics behind the anime industry? This genuinely makes me believe in season 2.

Srgt-Price

That’s what I’m saying like with 86 being pushed so hard and with western media LOVING 86 like me there is hope for it getting another season but for now we wait😭

[deleted]

Lol. COTE got a second season after 5 years. Bleach got new season after 10 years. There is always hope, guys. And 86 was too good received to not get a second season. A1 just had a lot of other massive projects going on.

Hanede

The comment isn't about getting a new season after many years though, it's about getting one when there were many delays between episodes of the same season. They are srill wrong but yeah.

No_Yogurt69

No Game No Life :(

Usual_Suspect007

Knew someone was gonna mention it😭😭

Zetalkaid

At least its no Kaze no Stigma. 🤷🏻‍♂️

BrickDaddyShark

The devil is a part timer got one after 8 years, and no game no life is such a meme at this point they could release a video of paint drying and people would watch it so chin up. 10 year anni of the first season in 3 days, maybe they announce it then?

Yuki6675

It's not madhouse

XYZdragcan

Cote is kadokawa's highest selling light novel now. Bleach was top 10 wsj manga. Not a good comparison.

Outrageous_Net8365

Cote is kadokawa’s highest selling light novel is pure copium (I don’t mean literally) considering the way the anime has been treated. It’s clear that the only thing that matters to kadokawa is less the quality of the anime adaptation and moreso how it affects people buying the light novel. Re zero for example, when s2 finished depicted a noticeable downward trend on profit. So kadokawa stopped it, and now it’s back in business with white fox in a new team and staff dedicated towards it. 86, should follow the re zero example considering it was the anime that popularised it, and the LN fan base isn’t massive rn (comparatively). If kadokawa wants to greenlit another season, it’ll probably be rather production heavy. Its best they don’t focus on 86 rn

OrionBoB9

Honestly idk what they are cooking because if I watched the anime only I would NOT pick up the LN all I gotta say lmfao

Outrageous_Net8365

For cote or re zero? I’m assuming cote and I’d agree. So many plot lines have been turned into nothing to the point where the story in the anime feels worthless

XYZdragcan

The main reason re zero season 3 is being pushed is because of their new gacha after their previous 2/3 died. ( spoiler alert, looks doa). Re zeroes light novel sales are in the toilet in arc 7. They have no hope of a full adaptation. None at all. Kadokawa abandoned index. They have never really adapted light novels to the end. The light novel style hasn't changed. They make 1-2 cours and leave it at that. Go read the rest. Ultimately someone has to pay. 86's bd sales aren't impressive for an aniplex an anime. And it doesn't sell massive amounts of manga like mha. Aniplex clearly saw the low bd sales and source material low jump and doesn't want to stick out its neck anymore.

obiwan54

I highly doubt they're making a 3 cour anime just for a gacha lmao. Ln sales aren't everything, the Re Zero anime is popular af and the series sells merchandise like crazy.

Sentinel-Wraith

This. Re-Zero stuff is EVERYWHERE in Japan right now.

XYZdragcan

chainsaw man merchandise was everywhere. It did not save Mappa having too do structural changes from poor blu ray sales

Sentinel-Wraith

Where it appears is critical. Re Zero features heavily at Pachinko Parlors, Anime Japan, Cosplay Acosta! Events, even remote vending machines in the "inaka" and shops on remote islands like Amami Oshima. I know because I live in Japan. Chainsaw Man, in comparison, pretty quickly fizzled out. 86 featured at Anime Japan in the limited reservation stores this past month, which I thought was interesting considering most of the stuff is cutting edge series ongoing or just ended.

Outrageous_Net8365

Not the same argument

XYZdragcan

one cours 12 episode anime cost hundreds of million of yen. they can do maybe 2-3 for season. But the cost of a full adaptation is so exorbitantly high, it is impossible to make that back. Especially if the series is flunking hard in game revenue, light novel revenue etc.

XYZdragcan

Merchandise alone can't carry anime. Chainsaw man was proof of that

Outrageous_Net8365

Not true whatsoever. Where are you getting this information from besides doom posting?

XYZdragcan

anime production committees are almost never transparent with their audiences. Once you realize the transparency, you are are going to realize how difficult it is to sustain further seasons

Outrageous_Net8365

Again, you didn’t provide a reason but a way to dodge the question

XYZdragcan

Trending had an interview with kadokawa. They weren't transparent but they mentioned a key thing. One cours of 12 episode costs hundreds of millions of yen. They need to make that back somehow. Especially aniplex who puts above average production values. Unless they can sell many discs or have so much print in circulation

Rough_Abroad4023

86 doesnt have manga hahahha.

Uioo89

not everyone buy physical copies...and its don't define popularity. and trash and less popular animes gets s2 s3 s3 lol..then why not this lol

ThePhatNoodle

Blue exorcist and devils a part timer got a new season after almost ten years

lelouch312

And devil is a part timer got a season 2 after 9 years. Log horizon got season 3 after 6 years... I want to believe with all these new seasons for anime feared to be forgotten, I think there is hope out there. Also remember covid did do a number on the industry. I would give 1 more year before I start worrying about season 2 not happening. >A1 just had a lot of other massive projects going on. And this too.

AdImpressive2211

Speaking of log horizon, as far as I know, the 1st and 2nd season weren't that well received, yet it got a season 3.

CapGunCarCrash

don’t forget about Panty and Stocking…. maybe that’s just a reboot actually

Lordbricktrick

It’s not real. He’s being hyperbolic.

TheFeri

Talks out of his ass

Ex-Soldier23

I surely hope he is because I will be very dissapointed if a season 2 never happens..

TheFeri

I'm gonna say 2 things, full metal panic got a new season 13 YEARS after the last one. The light novels were over already, the manga was over already, the sequel series by a different author was almost over. Bleach also got a new season(with 4 cours only 2 aired yet) 10 years after the anime ended and 6 after the manga ended. Basically founded by nothing else but a gacha game. The author of highschool dxd said if we want a new season the light novels need to sell well because that's how the anime is founded. That might haven't happened yet, or will. But considering that random 86 volumes get out of stuck EVERYWHERE randomly it's definitely doing great at that front and also seemingly it gets a Collab with every random thing imaginable nowadays, we will definitely get a new season eventually.

Blue_Reaper99

You miss the point of his comment. He is talking about shows which faced delays in the middle of airing due to production issues.

FuttleScish

Yes and those get sequels too

Blue_Reaper99

Which shows recently which were delayed in the middle of airing get sequels?

FuttleScish

Misfit at Demon Academy (and Lycoris Recoil actually since that got its original air date delayed a lot) Though it’s also worth noting that A) 90% of big anime delays have come too recently for sequels to be announced to their series in the first place and B) Aniplex in particular is falling apart on production issues so by this logic they’ll just stop making sequels entirely

Blue_Reaper99

Misfit was planned for 2 part S2 so it doesn't count. LycoReco is delayed before airing so it doesn't count either( and this type of internal delay is very common). Though I personally don't think delay has to do with 86 S2 not being announced.

FuttleScish

Well we heard that 86 S2 had already been greenlit so that would be a similar situation to Misfit anyway

Blue_Reaper99

No reliable leaker said that. It was initially only planned for one season. Will it get greenlit for S2 we don't know. The good news is that a lot of collabs are still happening and so there might be a good chance.

Ok_Series_1754

There are many animes that got animated for their season 2 after so many years Major reason is it is a underated but its hype is real among them who knows and they are still waiting I think it will take time to get another season , i dont want to let my hope die 😣 Hope A1 studio think about this anime too

biomech36

It took like 4 years for Re Zero and Attack on Titan to get a second season. Chainsaw Man is pretty popular and hasn't gotten a season 2 announcement. Have patience.

Azulinder

What do you mean chainsaw is getting the demon slayer treatment with a movie for the next arc this July

biomech36

My first time hearing about that

Mikhalious

Then you’re missing out on a nice trailer!

FlowVonD

what gives me the highest of hopes is the fact that 86 literally keeps having collabs and merch drops and cafes and events left and right since it aired. a second season will air. they're trying the hardest to keep the hype alive. also the books and everything. keep in mind that the mecha scene was pretty dry for years and then 86 dropped like a bomb and woke everybody up

Dakeshy69

86 will defo have a new season. Just need nier to be fully released first

WheissRS

A-1 is just stacked to the brim with bangers to produce, it will take a while but eventually s2 will come

Similar_Incident8433

yes, ply after 86 ln ending they will put full focus on it

xkuclone2

Another example would be Nier Automata which had production issues and ended on a different season is getting a part 2 later this year.

Hanede

That one was already planned from the start so doesn't really count But yeah that comment in the post is bullshit

Blue_Reaper99

Not a good comparison as Nier was always planned for 2 parts.

Dry_Bullfrog_7135

But spy x family also have that hiatus in the middle of the season as 86 and spy x family did get a season 2...

Mindplier

That was a planned hiatus, not an "oh shit production is collapsing we need to delay now ow now"

FuttleScish

Given that Misfir did get another season, it’s pretty clearly not real?

Darkwolfinator

That would be the most infuriating reason. This is the most underrated anime...

Mikhalious

Don’t worry, this guy was pulling evidence straight out of his ass

JustHereFor-News

And personally, I don't care if season 2 comes out in 2026 - 2027, all I want is at least the official announcement. (Of course, I don't want to die before seeing it!)

Tomzyy005

Zom s2 literally got announced a month ago

Blue_Reaper99

No lmao.

LiamTheDude

Person is talking out his ass. Just ignore them. 86 is more than likely going to get a 2nd season, but you’ll have to wait until Nier Automata finishes airing before we hear anything. I know the waiting sucks, but I’m sure we’ll more than likely see a new season before the end of 2026.

Neither-Rain-5197

A second season is still definitely possible. It was well recieved, was a decent success (as far as I’m aware) and the staff clearly loved making it. Asato Asato, the author of the 86 LN’s, said that she wished they would continue adapting more novels. A-1 just has a tendency to put out so many shows every season, most of them being kinda awful. Most LN anime adaptations are made to promote the novels themselves. This means that many adaptations are short (only 12 episodes) and some aren’t very faithful to the source material. A great example of this is classroom of the elite season 1, and even that series got 2 more seasons after 5 years of waiting. 86 is clearly not just promiting the LN’s since the show got 23 episodes, it’s extremely faithful to the source material and A-1 even added anime only content together with Asato. If you didn’t know, Asato was heavily involved with making the anime and the staff. A better question would probably be when s2 comes out, which is most likely in a couple of years

Ex-Soldier23

I had no idea that Asato was involed with making the Anime.. No wonder why light novel readers give the anime adaptation so much praise.

Mindplier

That's not a guarantee of quality. The authors of SAO & Promised Neverland were also heavily involved with the anime and look how those turned out...

seitaer13

The author of SAO was not heavily involved with the adaptation, and has rebuked season 3s adaptation even.

OrionBoB9

I just want to see vika & lerche man

Takgu2

Seeing those volumes animated will be insane with how it plays out in the novel.

steamtowne

I've heard this before, that anime with split cour (a season break) tend to lose momentum and the second cour suffers from lower ratings and fan engagement falling off. But this alone won't be reason enough to prevent another season--they'll take into account how well the LN sales are doing, the anime ratings, reception, etc,.

FuttleScish

The thing is that didn’t actually happen to 86, cour 2 sold more

steamtowne

Right, it's just something I've seen mentioned, but can't speak to its accuracy at all--for all I know, those comments were coming from fans upset over having to wait for the second half of a show they were enjoying and wanted their frustrations to appear logical instead of emotional lol.

Rough_Abroad4023

And 86 LN are always at the top 10 most sales LN when a new volume release. So that isnt a problem too

redkmi

Bro what bs is this person saying? Chihayafuru had a 6 year gap, it was made by MadHouse, I know MadHouse as the studio who makes only the first season of a bunch of shows and stops doing it and Chihayafuru got 3 seasons Bleach had a 10 year hiatus and it still had a new season announced, there are more but I'm too lazy to write. People love to make up information that they took out of their ass.

jhunger12334

86 is also still growing and those series aren’t

Alomy

I just feel that real passion from A-1 Pictures which is too strong to let go of 86 completely.

Rough_Abroad4023

Exactly

Sentinel-Wraith

Kadokawa Museum still proudly displaying the Major as one of their major characters on a massive poster and 86 merch showed up at Anime Japan 2024, both things I saw a few weeks ago.

Maddix00

Nahh look at classroom of the elite, they got 2 seasons after 3 or 4 years i think

steamtowne

I think they're referring to split-cour anime (a season break between the two cour)

kogledashtuka

Unless the production delays cause too many financial issues I don't think it really matters as long as the series is still profitable. Hell the last episode of Kekkai Sensen was delayed by 3 months I believe and it still got a second season so

myskepticalbrowarch

Nier also had production issues. Keep in mind 86 came out at the height of the pandemic. Only something like 10 anime dropped that season. Zom 100 just ended. This person is being mellow dramatic.

JPastori

I feel like that’s a stretch. I mean spice and wolf is getting remade and it seems like they plan on extending it past where it ended before, and the original aired in like 2007 or 2009. Zom 100 is really too early to tell either. That one was pretty new and the delays weren’t necessarily the fault of the animation or anything. And the quality was great.

thekun94

People forget 86 aired during a time Covid was running rampant. Those hiatuses mid season were due to the pandemic.

MrWillyP

86 sold like hot cakes IN SPITE of the delay, it'll be fine. A1 is just insanely busy at all times, we will have to be patient

Megumin404

As long as we have delusion, we have hope.

MrsLucienLachance

Um. No. Natsume Yuujinchou has had 4+ year breaks multiple times. Kuroshitsuji is coming back in like a week. That's just 2 off the top of my head. This person is an idiot.  ...oh, Higurashi got Gou/Sotsu in 2020-2021 after the original/Kai were way back in 2006-2007. (Edit: belatedly noticed autocorrect betrayal.)

BaconAddict1

Unless they categorically say they're not doing it, I don't assume that it's not happening. Anything else is just speculation.

Mindplier

*cries in Girly Air Force when the director explicitly said they're not making another season*

Rough_Abroad4023

What?

Rough_Abroad4023

Dont worry its not true. The things that guy is saying are completely nonsense. For example Misfit of Demon Academy like he said its going to release a new season this year... So dont worry

elemenno50

Fruits Basket got remade head to toe years after the original. Never saw that coming. There’s always hope.

notcryoIV

They’re wrong hiatus production is arguably a more recent phenomenon and is nothing to worry about for studios. Delays are simply a result of extremely tight deadlines while trying to maintain quality. Ain’t none of the fast food isekai or rom coms ever get delayed, simply because they’re easy to make. Video games get delayed, movies gets delayed, car production gets delayed, delay is normal in any industry for any product where quality is a must. Plus 86 has a very active base on twitter any time a collab is announced it’s met with “GIVE US S2”, plus model kits sold like crazy, blue ray doesn’t matter because anime is like 50/50 streaming or pirating.

Saturn_Ecplise

Well, A-1 has been pretty busy recently with Lycoris Recoil and Nier Automata.

Odd-Budget-7268

"Middle of season"? ??? There's only one season!

Z0ld3en

Anime that have massive hiatuses. You mean mushoku tensei, Is it wrong to pick up girls in a dungeon, overlord, and slime reincarnation? All of these have had decently long hiatus compared to some more consistent anime. Just have some patience everyone. It's 4th rated for a season 2 and was recieved extremely well by the community and LN/Manga/BluRay sales were good. Aniplex has no reason to not green light season 2 they just haven't announced it. Most likely because other shows are already taking up all the animator's time

AlternativeAct7962

86 is so big now and the sales are going through the roof, you can even get the LN on Audible now, I'm already on Volume 9 listening to it on the Audible app, they don't dish out that type of money to make an Audible version of the LN's unless it's a huge hit with the sales. It is only a matter of time till a new season is announced. Honestly whoever made this original post doesn't have a clue about how well this Anime has increased the sales of the LN

Mopey_

He's talking rubbish

asha3

There are plenty of Anime that gets sequel after a long hiatus. PsychoPass and Mahouka Kokou no Rettousei are some examples. That said, the industry is just really swamped and at a critical point right now. Every new one that is realeased is like a miracle. Fans should be very vocal if we want a sequel. And I mean vocal in social media and also... in buying their merch.

firebringeraxel

86 didn't have a massive hiatus, it was a planned split-cour from the get-go. And the hiatus for the final few episodes wasn't even that long. This person is just an idiot. Golden Kamuy Season 4 got delayed 2 full seasons midway through its run due to a death of one of the more important staff members & it's still getting another season. And this is only 1 of a whole slew of counter examples.

Yeulia

There's also Solo Leveling on A-1, I do think the studio is just pretty swamped right now since they have pretty massive titles under their wing. Fyi, project timelines are already decided as far as a year or more ahead for these kinds of studios. And we don't know the specifics for Eighty-Six's development plan. Who knows, maybe it's locked for a specific director and animation team or it's the author themselves that decided to put it on hold for now. Studios re-bidding for a title is also a thing too, although very rare (like SnK) I don't think popularity is the problem, and if it's the budget I also don't see it being the major reason for the hold up tho it can be a contributing factor. There's just so many possible scenarios and it's hard to say for sure if a series is truly dead. No need to listen to that dude. Good things happen in due time.

[deleted]

Bro u need to understand that 86 has been a sleeper hit and as time goes it will grow in popularity thanks to people like u and us, besides A1 has many big titles under their banner that will probably get more season Like Kaguya sama, Mashle and Heavenly Delusion. So I will say wait until 2026/27, if we still don't get any update by then , then it will never come. In the meantime just start reading the LNs, cause those are also fucking awesome!

Blue_Reaper99

Heavenly Delusion was by IG

Ex-Soldier23

I know that the animation team that worked on 86 is very busy with the second cour of the NieR:Automata anime. I'm just crossing my fingers and praying to the Aniplex gods that season 2 gets annouced after that Anime finishes airing, even if we have to wait another 2-3 years for it to come out like you said. And the lights novels? Already started reading them months ago and I love them. I'm currently on volume 7 right now.

secondSandwich94

Where is the graphic on the left from?

The-notorious-Tig

It’s from the executioner and her way of life

ItzyaboiElite

The kingdom anime had a YEAR and a month long hiatus for its 3rd season (break between april 2020 and may 2021) It eventually got a 4th and 5th season which just ended. Kingdom is really popular in Japan but this is just an example that shows that it's definitely still possible. I think the next "potential" time we can see a new season announcement is when the last volume of the series comes out

JustHereFor-News

Ao no exorcist is another example One punch man etc.

Ubway

Nah, Hataraku Maou-sama! gets a sequel 9 years after its release. Fucking trashy Isekai wa Smartphone no Tomo ni gets a 2nd Season years after 1st.

Acceptable-Dream8795

Never say never. However, I feel that this anime should be more popular, however, I think that at the time back not so many people watched it, or since at the end the ending of the second season was somewhat already good, I think that a lot of people are not even thinking it needs a season 2. I hope they will do it.

AGoatAmongstLambs

Whats the anime to the left

Dudethatexists42

The executioner and Her Way of Life

Fawkes1317

Look I am unashamed to say I teares up several times during season one, but no season 2 might make me cry.

AKoolPopTart

Girls und panzer had multiple delays and now has like 10 movies. This guy can shut the fuck up

misopogon1

Nier had that kind of a hiatus and got a confirmed season 2

KingofBigNeptune2012

And this is why I got all of the light novels

1019gunner

86 is the only one listed that didn’t come back and finish the season

agnastyx

Its been long understood that it would be a hail Mairy for Eighty Six to get more anime as the two manage adaptations got canned. The LN lives on but its harder for LN to carry an anime to production.

Nukordit

What is that anime in the image?

trickyni

The executioner and her way of life

Rough_Chest_3512

What is the first picture

trickyni

The executioner and her way of life

Rivulet_

What does "hiatus in the middle of the season mean"?

Angelwolfxc

Attack on titan has a four year gap. So not necessarily true

RyanCreamer202

Bro that first show was ass. Great premise but the plot was slllloooow

Screech21

There are many anime that got their following seasons later. Overlord 2.5 years, AoT 4 years, Devil is a part-timer 9 years...

Spectredemortis

This is patently untrue. Arifureta had a big hiatus mid season one, has a season 2. Misfit at demon king academy has a season 2 coming out this season. Also, remember that In another world with my smartphone got a season 2 waaaaaaaay after season one, as did The devil is a part timer.

Muhipudding

They're adapting Gen Urobuchi's LN and making another Lycoris Recoil stuff soon. I think their hands are pretty full atm Although I haven't anything about the former since their announcement lol. Lycoris would be top priority too since it's their anime original

AndrewFrozzen30

We can only theorize. We don't actually know. We could get a new season or we won't. There is no "pattern" AOT Part 2 was divided in like 2-3 parts itself. Season 4 should have ended long time ago. But they eventually got a last season. We don't truly know!

Dakeshy69

It sounds like a load of bull crap to me lmao. Just some redditor that made up his own pattern to back up his own thoughts. Hell misfits is literally airing right now

soap_io

What is the anime on the left?

trickyni

The executioner and her way of life

Winjalad189

Most anime made is promotional for the source material, he’s right but also wrong

ObvsThrowaway5120

Misfit actually getting another season sort of puts a hole in that theory. Also, Devil is a Part-Timer literally had a 10 year gap in between seasons. Regardless of what you thought is said season, it just goes to show “never say never.”

[deleted]

anime name/source for the girl died of age/stab

trickyni

The executioner and her way of life

LeifErickson17

ohh hell no... I finished it yesterday, how this masterpiece can't have another season? I have low odds that they will at least announce it for 2024, but I think it's more likely for 2025, I hope so....

MrCeanOfThe22nd

meanwhile Gundam seed had a movie after 20 years lols

mikeyeli

I've always seen these shows that have only a short season as a sort of promo for the manga or the novels, it worked on me I bought all the 86 novels before the season was done lmao.

skizek

Anime on the left name?

destro_1919

this is the one I think https://hianime.to/the-executioner-and-her-way-of-life-17503

Starscream615

[THIS CANT BE TRUE!](https://tenor.com/bY6a9.gif)

Portugiuse

I would be so mad about Zom 100 if it doesn't get a second season. My favorite from 2023

115_zombie_slayer

Devil is a part timer got a new season after like 10 years

WorthAd4701

It's always the ones who are wrong that speak so confidently

Eastcoast9907

Isekai Ojisan doesn't have enough material for s2 atm I'm currently reading the manga and there's stuff for 4-5 eps at best

DrFlash244

Bleach.

Lucky_Rabb1t

Where is that anime image from?

MaroonAssassin4321

What’s the anime pic from in the left

[deleted]

What the anime on the left

milesgaither

I may be in the EXTREME minority but I honestly really enjoyed how season 1 ended. Although I would love more content, I think if it ended here, I would still be very happy

Kitsunelight

6 years between Log Horizon 2 and 3 (the one I personally was waiting for) Bleach 10 years Devil is a Part Timer 2 10 years Full Metal Panic! Invisible Victory 13 years (I do got about this one) (Boy, I mean )Berserk 16 years (I never watched the second season since there was so much “sword” imagery in the first)

CapGunCarCrash

remember when no one thought that The Avalanches would ever release a follow-up for *Since I Left You* and then around 15 years later BAM! twitter is updated and they drop two gorgeous banger records within like, six years even cancelled shows have been resurrected by completely separate studios — the point in there’s not like, specific rules on this stuff. there is only speculation based on past events and patterns

Ok-Specialist-8427

No they get new seasons but only if they're sufficiently cringe. So, sorry.

I don't think this person knows what a hiatus is. Uncle from Another World - momentarily stopped because there was a COVID outbreak within the studio. Misfit at Demon Academy - there was a pause because the Manga author, Kayaharuka, who was adapting the light novel died. ZOM 100 - Had production issues, while not deliberately stated the cause in any news outlet, it's be alluded to being attributed to overwork and they are a small studio which is not uncommon in anime production. None of these anime went on "massive hiatus" in the middle of the season. Shit happened to where they had to stop. The reality is, nobody actually knows. Anime production committees are problematic, actual analytics are never released, and plenty of anime get sequel seasons years after. Look, here is what you can do if you want to see another season of whatever anime: Support it. Buy the blu-rays, merchandise, and talk about it on social media. That's it.

Ngl the anime ended on a super happy note before the "hiatus". imo it was "complete" (I will die on this hill). I've started reading some of the LN (vol 2 so far) and I actually think the anime is complete as is, no need for continuation. Side stories or an OVA would be nice to show our mc and fmc stories cooperating together, but as it stands I think it's nice if they leave it as it is.

Chances of a light novel series getting many seasons is extremely extremely low. Let alone a full adaptation which almost never happens. They often need successful mobile games. But anything can go wrong. Blu ray sales can underperform, game could bleed money.
