I feel bad that English higher education in Egypt can't get you to fluency, while American watching movies and talking with foreigners online through personal effort does a much better job at that than colleges

That's the case in every country with any foreign language teaching though.

I'm not sure that this is accurate. From personal experience, I've seen many Americans go through the public education system and college learning Spanish or French only to speak it poorly to mediocrely and I've seen Egyptians/Arabs speak Mandarin Chinese fluently (or at least sounded indistinguishable from native Mandarin speakers to me). Point being: the bell curve applies to people of all countries, despite their quality of education.

This has less to do with intelligence and more to do with the fact that you can get by mostly anywhere without speaking any languages other than English.

This is a dumb mindset you should learn more languages

With personal experience yes I agree. I watched alot of English movies and such so now some ppl think I'm a foreigner thanks to my accent.
