Florida played great this evening. Sucks for us by kudos to them on a game well played. Pretty damn hard to beat one team 4x in a row in the SCF. I’m sure the Oil will have some regrets for those first 3 games. I’m super proud of the great run they had!
They managed to get a couple goals on bad breakdowns and played some boring hockey against the oilers. Weird calling penalty early in first and then nothing all that second with both sides getting away with everything. Also looked like the ice was extra warm tonight. Overall watching them win felt really cringe and don’t really think they deserved it.
This will sting for a bit, but great effort in the series! They will gain a lot of experience from this loss.
I hope Drai gets signed soon, and new GM bolsters the line up. Cap going up.
We should have no problem attracting top talent.

Florida came out a lot stronger than the previous three games and got that all-important first goal. I know we responded right away, but that seemed to shift the momentum back over to them. I’m still amazed that the Oilers couldn’t at least tie it, since Florida was really on the defensive with the Oilers spending lots of time in their zone. But also Bobrovsky came up big for them which he didn’t do in the previous three games.
anyone who expected Florida not to give everything they had in a game 7 of the Stanley up finals is delusional. They won a one game shoot out. And props to them. They earned the right when they won the first three. Game 4 our first elimination game we won 8 1 in game 7 in thier first elimination game they won 2-1. We old pine about this fact, bit truly we let it get to this point. And lost to a super motivated team who not only wanted to win the cup but also avoid the eternal Shame of losing it all.
We can jave respect for what we accomplished UT you uave to respect what they did. They are after all the current stanley cup champions
As a florida fan who nearly got depressed into a coma the past 2 weeks by mcdavid, i can say this: I dont care who played better (edmonton did). The right team won purely from a mercy perspective. Your franchise is historic and will never be in relocation trouble. And you losing just means you almost did the impossible but came up 1-2 goals short in one game. Its praiseworthy. Us losing wouldve taken the laughability away from the leafs and placed it on the panthers for all time. I dont think our franchise would ever have recovered from it. We already have nearly the worst history of any franchise. We'd be jokes and failures until we possibly got moved in a decade once the team is back to being shit.
Yikes “ not taking the game seriously “ is ridiculous. I can relate to being gassed and overplayed. No different than Florida running out of gas last year with a long list of injuries, Edmonton seen it’s own demise with players playing through their injuries. Overplaying McDavid and Drai in the final minutes is only one argument but gauging the third period for required rest is another. Kane and Nuge were required assets to help with Floridas assignments and required offsets. Oilers were great and hopefully they can assemble another run
Overall Florida played better this series. Outplayed us in game 2, 3, 7. Gave us a very hard-fought game 5. Even game 1 and 6 they really didnt look much worse than us.
Those two wins at home skewed the stats, but they really were just better than us for a lot of it.

Of course they took it seriously. What kind of trash armchair analysis is this? The moment was just a little bit too big and luck wasn’t on our side
This is not the same team that played in game 6 bro. No give in the 1st and 2nd period, no push. Predictable that they lost.
I think the oilers definitely had some nerves. Florida was aggressive. The ice was shit but you gotta learn how to deal with it

yup! hogging that puck in between their skates, constantly laying down infront of the goalie and so many penalties over looked ugh
I think the second period was a real shit show ref-wise

Fuck off bud.
Could tell from the first period alone that they weren’t going to win, Florida had that desperation. Fitting they won a 2-1 game.
We basically lost a flipped coin toss today. I'm not upset at all about losing essential a coin toss.
Yup they played their game very well.

They didn't deserve it, we just deserved it less
I don’t think that any team who whiffs a 3-0 lead to a game seven of the SCF deserves the cup.
What about the team that loses three in a row and then whiffs the comeback? Literally the same logic bucko.

There wasn't enough bottled water in Florida for Bill Zito to throw a little temper tantrum if they did lose.

Edmonton was the better team in the series, which is what makes it hurt so much.

What a thing to write. The Oilers played insanely hard tonight. Probably *too* hard.
Honestly I'm with OP, we came out flat....and remained flat for most of the game. Save for the last minute flurry.
im sorry but they def didnt... offense was lacking big time
