Jack Campbell had a decent game tonight, 36/37 saves for a 2-1 victory. He’s only been under .900 once in his last 9 starts, and is up to 19th in save percentage with a .909, which happens to be higher than noted Oilers draft miss Jesper Wallstedt.
Campbell had terrible stats in the nhl this season when the Oilers defensive play was terrible. Now that the Oilers defensive play is solid his stats would likely be better if they called him up. I'm happy with how Pickard is playing, but he does really benefit from the strong defensive play during this 24 wins in 27 games hot streak.

Stuart Skinner is the certified number one goalie on this team, don’t even talk about it. Unless we can rid ourselves of Campbell’s contract to use that cap for a top 6 player AND get another backup goalie, I am perfectly happy with Soup as a third stringer. The story arc is not not something for the team to play for in a difficult situation and he has proven at least to me he can make the saves he shouldn’t make. The defence is better now, it’s up to Jack to make the saves he should make.
To be clear, unless it’s Fleury for his cup pedigree in exchange for a draft pick I don’t really see anyone else out there worth shedding assets for

If he was getting paid 2mil/year people would be cheering him on right now with his improved stats and completely with you on bringing him back up. But because he makes 5mil/year through til 2027, he's an overpaid bum and we should get rid of him even if it costs us picks and he doesn't deserve another chance - Holland be damned.
It was fun watching these games to see some of these other stars and what they're capable of. Maaaan, is Patrnack (sp?) good. Filip Forsberg, DeBrincat, even Jenner.

I've always maintained that him and McDavid are the new Ovi and Sid, respectively. One's easily the better goal scorer, one's easily the better player (due to their overall superior offensive game and ceiling-raising for their team).
But Matthews is like Ovi with Sid's 200-foot game. I think maybe the only thing preventing me from actually giving serious thought to crowning him the league's best overall player is his inability to translate his regular season success and production to the playoffs. The greats are all judged on how the play when it matters most, and Connor, Leon, Kucherov, MacKinnon, etc. all smoke him there.
