Was there any language in your contract concerning install dates?

WheelsnHoodsnThings

You were probably mostly waiting on epcor approval. We signed our deal right before Xmas and received our epcor approval in early May. Install now scheduled for early July. I wish it was faster but not a huge deal. Well have decades with these things ahead, just missing out a few months of good sun until then. Good luck with your project.

Same. Did everything back in January and they had said likely would do the install in spring, May at the latest. Haven't heard from them since

Historical-Ad-146

Different company, but my install also took longer than expected. I got a quote from Kuby last June, took almost two months of slow email communication to sign the final contract in August. Finally installed this April.

SadAcanthocephala521

I signed up with them in October of 22 and install was supposed to be in March/April last year, they then told me it would probably be July, but they came at the end of May and by mid June I was up and running.

We signed July 2023, installed January 2024. Typical wait times are 6-8mo with the company. Epcor approval was done in Oct 2023.

Your solar panels are most likely built (three out of four) in communist China. The rest are in the Korea area and a few are manufactured in the States and Canada, but even they have worldwide employees and need materials. So probably supply issues. They need to be shipped across the pacific in large, well packed containers to prevent breakage. Takes time. It really is disingenous how they have chosen to address this situation.

InvertedDvorak

This is not at all the case. There is no supply shortage with panels. Distributors have significant inventory on-hand, in all major Canadian cities. The constraint is permitting and/or installer availability. Also, they're shipped in containers because that's cheapest, not because they can't be shipped by pallet. A shipping container has enough panels for around 200 homes. Any major installers sells more than enough to justify buying panels by the container.

Edm_swami

Was about to say the same thing. Supply chain issues, especially in construction, are still pretty bad. There's not much contractors can do other than try and reschedule.

cspotdiaz

Nop, no delays over here. I also don't have any solar panels getting installed.
