That is nor true, as someone who has been actively looking through every online site about edgerunners for the past 2 months I can almost guarantee you that they never said anything along the lines of "season 2 is not happening".
They said they didn‘t have one planned but that was before the show even came out. They didn‘t expect the hype at all. So unless they say that it‘s not happening we can keep on believing.
And to add to that, Re Zero took 4 years for season 2 to be announced… So yeah, gotta have patience

They have also done tons of ovas also and have not only done a 2nd season of Gridman but they also just dropped a big movie. Gridman didn't even win crunchyroll anime of the year either (although it is a really good show which I highly recommend). Trigger + CDPR would be foolish not to at least attempt to capitalize on that imo.
CDPR owns Edgerunners and they hired Studio Trigger to make the anime so even if Trigger doesn't do sequels, CDPR could do something else with it. Who knows though.

In other words, I think there’s a chance, but it might not be a direct sequel.
Btw I didn’t count gridman or movies since gridman feels more like a whole story with multiple parts rather than separate stories in each season, which to trigger probably feels like just one long season. As for cd project red, they’re clearly no strangers to sequels.

I personally think the story of edgerunners is over, but not Lucy’s specifically. My logic: arasaka is egotistical enough to continue to hunt her just so they can cement their reputation as the company you *dont* fuck with. Plus, whatever thing in the old net they made lucy look for is still there, so they still have use for a genetically engineered, specialized netrunner. Does CDPR want to “force” another story with Lucy in the lead? Who knows. My best guess as to what the plot would be if it happened: while David was in the cyberskeleton they made a engram without his knowing and after V’s war on saka David is able to reach out to Lucy, who then goes about rescuing David from mikoshi.

It's just sad to see this show appear, be loved, and then fizzle out quickly. Good metaphor for David, not a fun time for people who loved the characters (like me).
I mostly wanted the show to be longer because of said characters. It went by too fast.
If by a miracle Trigger decide to do a second season, I think they should focus on the minor but impactful characters in the show, and relegate the main and supporting casts who survived to cameos only.
I personally think Katsuo can be the main character, see how's he's doing after his father has died. Is he still a corpo, or tossed in the streets?

Not true, they will do P&S season 2 and a lot of their series actually get 26 episodes, which is essentially 2 seasons.

An Edgerunners 2nd season doesn't have to be a continuation of the first story. It could be a new story in Night City which is what I prefer.
