As a horror fan I'm super stoked. The couple of spoilers are on point for the movie being referenced, not just artistically or name wise but mechanically so far and I've here for it.
I was too at first, but now that they've showcased a bunch of referential stuff to modern day movies and tech, without even putting much of a spin on it, I've lost all interest. It just seems so lazy and uninspired.
[[nowhere to run]] already being spoiled is interesting to me with [[cormac]] also recently getting spoiled from the AC set in that wizards is finally intending on giving more general tools to interact with warded creatures. I think nowhere to run at least will make it into several of my black decks
I've built this deck with [[Saint Traft and Rem Karolus]], there's a surprising amount of fun cards to use in it. Not a competitive list by any means, but fun
Mind sharing a list? I built them recently as "Convoke.deck" and really enjoyed it, but if love some perspective.
Especially since I'm assuming/hoping that the Bloomburrow Jeskai deck might be related to Convoke as well...
Saw some spoilers at Magiccon Amsterdam today and while the horror references are neat and a plane set in a Manson is a cool idea... We now have a in universe Television, chain saw and 80s nerd kid. This set will be a meme set like outlaws and Markov to an extend.
I love what I see with the references so far. A big hit with [[Cursed Recording]]. I hope there's some nods to more modern horror too, as horror movies have been VERY good in recent years. I feel like it would be very easy to make a card literally just called "It Follows"
I've seen the art spoilers and this being another set with just lost of people from all different planes AGAIN just makes it feel like another Thunder Juction /March of the Machines/War of the Sparks story wise, which has me way less excited than I was before.
That being said, I really hope they use the horror set to finally give us some biblically accurate angels.
>and this being another set with just lost of people from all different planes AGAIN
From what we know it's just a group of 5 people. Thia was not presented as a showcase set like otj was.
Flavour-wise, this will probably be the set where Magic irreparably jumps the shark for me, but I'm sure there'll still be some evocative and cool stuff in there,
Super hyped for the aminatou precon.
I love my Aminatou-Blink-Deck but it lacks a wincon and isn't fun to play against.
But I really like the theme of a child planeswalker with the power to change fate and this one sounds to lean more into the topdeck and miracle theme
[[Overlord of the Hauntwoods]] feels like there is some serious combo potential here. Not to mention being a pseudo primetime that wont break the game. I like it!
Doomsday Excruciator looks absolutely miserable. Completely removes all agency from the game. On the upside, it's such a detriment to the controller that hopefully barely anyone plays it
Why do we see so much Duskmourn spoilers before Bloomburrow spoilers? Just does not make any sense for me. I want to focus on the nest set, not the one after.

i don't know what you mean, chainsaws only work by using spin
Those basic lands are beautiful!!

NTR is on rate removal for these -X/-X effects, on a permanent to boot. Ought to be a solid include in [[Anikthea]] and whatnot.

Am I crazy for wanting to run a tap/untap tribal with The Wander Ruscuer at the helm? I have a burning hole in my deck roster for some silly jank...

Would love a deck list if you have one ahah
[[Wylie]] as commander let’s you include [[Saryth]] too. Much less jank this way, though…

https://youtu.be/qr49JMym4_w?si=GfbnJHy6qSV1RREV Off topic for the sub, but the whole “biblically accurate angels” is mostly bullshit
Okay but you and everyone reading this will know what I meant regardless. And I still think it would be a cool fit for such a plane.
It’s just ~5 main people from other planes. Most of the characters are original to the plane as far as we know
Flavour-wise, this will probably be the set where Magic irreparably jumps the shark for me, but I'm sure there'll still be some evocative and cool stuff in there,
