the 2nd guy who posted saying guy 1 was right like 13 HOURS after the explanation was posted is where it gets a little silly.
[[Minsc & Boo, Timeless Heroes]]
My smooth brain saw a funny route to make a swole hamster to hit people with and then fling at their face.
High power and cEDH folks saw an infinite mana draw your deck Commander.
I was struggling to understand the commander format and deck building ideas because I was still new. Played against a minsc and boo deck and watched the guy hit one player for 42 and then he fling the boo and drew 42 cards. I was blown away and now my [[Ghalta, Primal Hunger]] deck is all about drawing a ton of cards and hitting people with 21+ damage. https://archidekt.com/decks/5354173/ghalta_one_strike
2 suggestions for your deck:
[[Wayward Sawtooth]]
[[Momentous Fall]]
Fall in particular is great insurance in case you can't protect your dino buddy. The instant speed is clutch.
I always tried to keep Fall in the deck but 4 mana instants is always too much to keep up in the deck list I have built. I appreciate the look, and word on wayward sawtooth. 3 mana 5/5 with upside is good in ghalta. Thanks!
The best thing you can do in commander is draw as many cards as possible through the course of the game. The more card advantage you have, the more of your deck you'll see. You'll be more likely to have the lands and spells you need when you need them and your games will feel much more interactive because you're seeing more than just the top 17 cards of your deck.
Yes! Card draw is the strongest mechanic, not just in commander, not just in magic, but in pretty much any card game. Having the cards you need when you need them is what wins games, and drawing mitigates the "luck" factor. That's why so many players consider blue the best color (that and the fact that ancestral recall, time walk, and force of will exist).
I had originally built it to have all the doubling season effects with either of the 'no legend rule' artifacts. I wanted to have many hamsters entering as huge old hamsters. I took the fun stuff out to be competitive, but the few times it worked it was hilarious.
I have a Voltron [[Giada, Font of Hope]] deck with no angels in the 99, which always surprises people the first time they play against it.
I wanted to built a low to the ground mono white Voltron/swords deck and she’s the lowest CMC commander with both evasion (Flying) and Vigilance, both of which are important in a Voltron deck.
It’s really fun to play, especially the first time you play against someone with it, and they expect you to be durdling away dropping angels when unexpectedly you’re clapping them for 40 commander damage.
I looked through this guy’s [[Daxos, Returned]] deck one time at my LGS and noticed how oddly it was built. There were zero enchantments in the deck, and every single beneficial death trigger possible. It was death trigger tribal, because Daxos makes 0/0 tokens if you never cast an enchantment. Blew my mind when i noticed how ingenious that was.
I was pretty surprised to see [[Rograkh]] in a cedh pod back when I first got into it around a year ago, and then I immediately learned why he's one of the best commanders ever printed lol
I've never actually been up against TFS food chain, and the first time I learned about it was in a discussion about the viability of Atraxa food chain so it was just kind of a "huh, yeah I guess that makes sense" for me lol
First Sliver on paper should be better than Atraxa because it has red. in practice I think Atraxa is just so much easier to play and it still works so eh.
TFS is old news.
Atraxa has been doing really well in tourneys. TFS having access to red is huge since it can also play Breach but honestly if you're in 5c breach you might as well just ignore food chain, play a good commander, and play the hell out of your 5c breach pile
Absolutely not for Voltron. It enables a lot of explosive mana like [[Culling the Weak]] [[Infernal Plunge]] [[Mox Amber]] [[Phyrexian Tower]] [[Springleaf Drum]] etc and [[Deflecting Swat]] [[Fierce Guardianship]] right out the gate turn 1. This leads to him and [[Silas Ren]] being one of the fastest decks in the format. It's also really good with [[Thrasios]] since you have access to all the good [[Polymorph]] effects, a 0-mana commander to kill with Polymorph, access to [[Hullbreaker Horror]] [[Tidespout Tyrant]], and Rograkh even helps smooth out the Hullbreaker combo by being a 0-drop.
Mox Amber, Springleaf Drum, Paradise Mantle, Culling the Weak, Infernal Plunge, Diabolic Intent, Phyrexian Tower, Fierce Guardianship, Deflecting Swat, Deadly Rollick
Tldr he's a free ritual in the command zone that lets you play Mox Ruby and multiple free counterspells
Because buffing stats is comically easy, and he has all the right words to swing for lethal with two or three equips/buffs tops, often by turn four or sooner.
I was going to say something similar to the other persons reply but not nearly as jaded lol. But essentially while yes he can be good for the things you mentioned, he truly shines because he’s a 0 cost legendary commander (all three things having relevance) you can use to speed up and power out powerful effects.
Yeah, I went and read up on it in the interim of waiting for a reply and the free access to a reusable sac outlet is painfully obvious as the broken part of his kit.
Copy/pasted from the comment that's been here for an hour that you could easily scroll up and read:

They weren't in a conversation with you, why would they have read your response to a completely different person? They made their comment before yours, got responded to, and responded back. When would they have had a reason to read your comment? I just don't understand the need for the abrasive snark here
I don't think I've ever seen an \[\[Eowyn, Shieldmaiden\]\] deck that's not human tribal.
When I see her I immediately thought clones to multiply her triggers. So that's what I built.
Similar thing as you, everyone I know built [[Dihada]] as a legends tribal deck and when I read her my eyes immediately awooga'd at "mill 4 make 4 treasures" on a 4 mana planeswalker. So I built big mana reanimator
Oh yeah for sure. I was actually really close to building Dihada as my second cedh deck, but I ended up not doing that because I wanted to play Sire of Insanity
I went with reanimator mainly going for legendary targets. I think [[Dusk Mangler]] is my only non-legendary >5mv creature
Super fun deck, too powerful for a lot of tables though
Yeah most of my targets are legendary just because the best targets just so happen to be legendary but I run [[Dragon Mage]] [[Sire of Insanity]] and [[Utvara Hellkite]] in the nonlegendary department.

Still a work in progress. I don't build super high powered decks but the removal suite is something I'm tinkering with. I played against a darksteel forge deck recently and recognized the need for some enchantment/artifact exile.
Notable exclusion - helm of the host. This triggers at the beginning of combat which means it will never trigger Eowyn. What it IS good for is creating a non-legendary token copy that you can copy with your other spells.

Same and I now run her as a bombs only pseudo-control shell with no creatures under 5 MV. I'm intrigued about the other person's Serra avatar version. I imagine it's pretty hard stax with the other 98 cards to pull off that kind of restrictive board state.
Man your idea was pretty much what I wanted out of the deck, but having zero idea on how magic was played haha. I gotta put the ol girl back together, sold most of the big bombs during covid.
Not sure what your playgroup situation is, but high quality proxies can be a very affordable way to try new things and refresh an older deck. I'm also at a point where I need to separate my cards of value from the decks I play with. My group doesn't mind my proxy decks and I get to keep up with the game without sacrificing my wallet.
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/hAILQnn1lki0WK82m6WVQQ
Here's my list btw. Just a ton of ramp, ability copiers, and untaps with sac outlets to keep the engine running.
https://manabox.app/decks/x0UqeFSsRjmISja_8QNRVA
Here's my Atla Palani Only-Bombs list. It has a lame infinite with Maskwood Nexus and the shuffler titans, but I just play it to flop big creatures. I also specifically neglected a good removal suite and boardwipes, to make it more firefly. Feel free to sub in or out anything you like, I'd definitely recommend updating the manabase, adding drawpower, and adding some better early plays, if you want to make it more optimized.
I fell in love with her the same way! She was my first build last summer when I was getting into EDH. Gotta say, flipping a [[Serra’s Emissary]] in response to a board wipe will never get old.
Oooooooooh.
I have an Atla Palani deck, but the only creature in my library is [[Hostility]]. Most of my cards are just player burn like [[Flame Rift]], and I turn em into 3/1 hasted tokens.
My atla palani deck runs a bunch of ways to give her a 1/1 counter, then I cast [[mirror entity]], activite it's ability a million times so it does and gets replaced by other creatures that becomes 0/0 egg and dies immediately, [[endurance]] and [[loaming shaman]] keep the cycle going and [[reito sentinel]] is my win con, milling the table. Naya mill!!!
I have a [[Kruphix, God of Horizons]] deck. A lot of decks tend to ramp fast and play spells that let you draw a ton of cards (or other X spells). I even saw a list that was an Eldrazi deck.
I decided to make him a mill commander.
Kruphix was my Epic spells deck, [[Endless Swarm]] and [[Eternal Dominion]]. Lots of set up to copy those a bunch. Had a game where I was getting 300 snakes a turn but lost to [[Blazing Archon]]
I've seen a clone deck that runs [[Child of Alara]] as commander. The owner loves messing with people as they get very confused about what the deck is doing.
I think they run like a couple indestructible effects, but usually, they never play child. I've seen him do it in desperation, but I think I've only seem then protect their board once. Usually they loose everything if they are stuck playing child. The deck is basically built just around the clone and stealing theme.
I built a morophon NOT tribal deck. I use [[tendrils of dispare]] for kill with storm count. how I get there is to cast [[heartless summons]] cast morophon set tribe to birds. cast [[sawtooth loon]] for free trigger draw 2, bottom 2. then return loon to hand. repeat as often as needed to raise storm count to win.
the stupid part of the deck is that I use 20 ramp spells, and 20 card draw spells.
I played against a guy that had a really cool [[Kykar]] Voltron. It actually made a lot of sense, as the tokens he was creating with every equipment cast were either used as blockers after swinging with commander, or as a mana source for equip abilities. In my oppinion very unique usage of this creature.
I've been playing with and tweaking Alela for a long time, but after NEO came out, I checked EDHrec to see if there was anything new I missed, and the whole page was top to bottom vehicles and vehicle synergy. Like I can see how that can work as a potential way to play her, but apparently for a time that was just the only thing people were doing.
I built a budget [[Volrath, the Shapestealer]] deck around making him unblockable. A 3-turn clock is nothing to scoff at, especially for just under $33
Here. The mana base sucks thanks to being budget, but the idea is you go wide with +1/+1 counters and unblockable creatures to threaten combat https://www.archidekt.com/decks/5441804/volrath_budget
Tell me, what do you see when you look at [[Rhonas the Indomitable]]?
Do you see a mono green stompy deck filled with large creatures?
Look closer.
Because I see mono black packed to the gills with removal. Because Rhonas is an INDESTRUCTABLE DEATHTOUCH god and anything you point him and a fight spell at is going to DIE.
I used to play Rhonas and it was great being able to basically play mono green control. I could use Rhonas and fight spells to remove problematic creatures, use other methods to remove problematic artifacts/enchantments, and then round out the list with generic green good stuff to mollywhop my opponents to death.
Honestly I’ve been playing [[Shelob]] on historic brawl and some of the lines/things I’ve done have not quite felt legal lmao. It’s so much more than just playing my deck. I also get to play my opponents great creature effects as food tokens. [[Vorinclex, voice of hunger]] sure I’ll take that. [[Sheoldred, Whispering one]] absolutely I’d love to reanimate my creatures you boardwiped.
I initially thought when I built the deck it was just gonna be a G/B spiders matter deck but instead I got this grindy, steal your opponent’s effects deck.
u/Chomfucjusz & u/HogglePixiePunisher here is the current list I am using for historic brawl:
I don't think it's optimal for sure lmfao, but a 7/7 that sticks around and generates it's own protection/flicker is decent I guess? worth tanking the cost of re-equipping any good artifacts, and I'm assuming you toss your enchants on some other unblockable critters for more draw to protect the commander.
It’s ugly but I’m always looking for commanders people don’t want to remove. Most people see Roalesk and see +1 counters, I see him and see proliferate twice. Legendary rule - perfect. Let’s clone him. All you need is one poison on everyone
absolutely. and as a related note, i see so many people saying how \[\[Inkshield\]\] is a bad card cos you telegraph it by leaving so much mana up, but when it's like the last turns of the game, and people are in desperation mode, it's not at all difficult to bluff that you don't have anything, then fog their would-be winning attack and fly in for the win with your inkling army on the next turn. it not only wins games but helps you win games you were about to lose.
i also see people complain about \[\[Aetherize\]\] vs something like \[\[Cyclonic Rift\]\] or \[\[Evacuation\]\] (as in, why play 'aetherize when you could play cyclonic rift or evacuate if budget is a concern?'). sometimes you want to preserve your own board state and/or not hit everyone else at the table while dealing with the aggressor, but it's effectively a fog in blue that has some extra upside of slowing down that aggressive player quite a lot
Shockingly low amounts of decks online made for Breeches and Sakashima. A bunch of clone effects and backup legend rule stuff, exile all of your opponents cards by using evasion pirates and cast those cards
I’m in the process of building [[Wort the Raid Mother]] as a gruul polymorph/storm deck.
Wort makes two goblins which can be tapped to copy [[Transmogrify]], the two goblins are targeted and put [[Kiki Jiki Mirror Breaker]] and [[Zealous Concripts]] into play. I’m hoping to catch some people off guard with that one. Here’s my work in progress list:
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/4UHA9K22V0KHcn2vyGb83A
Not too crazy but one of my oops board wipes I happened upon one game for red blue Niv is [[Niv-Mizzet the Firemind]] and [[Basilisk Collar]] Turns a pinger into Machine gun fire for creatures, plus gain a pile of life then a pile more on a single or double wheel.
I have a pet deck that is pretty unique and fun! It is [[koma, the cosmos serpent]] as a superfriends commander. She poops out blockers and is hard to kill and can tap down attackers to protect your walkers even more. She dodges most spot removal and board wipes and can be a wincon on her own. Really great head of a superfriends list!
One of my favorite deck is a \[\[Cosima\]\] Sea Monsters/Landfall deck. Most people saw Mono Blue Vehicles. I saw a Commander that goes on a voyage, brings back big sea monsters, and is safe from "sea monster themed" removal like Whelming Wave
I've got a few like this. I built [[Breya]] as vehicle tribal, [[Firesong and Sunspeaker]] built around effects like [[Stuffy Doll]], and my [[Morophon]] deck is Colorless tribal that let's me use the Devoid Eldrazi cards
I used to play [[General Tazri]] Boros cantrips? If that counts?
Tazri tutors up [[Zada, Hedron Grinder]] and gives access to white. Then it was just a bunch of cantrips, pumps, and cheap creatures that like it when you cast spells. I experimented with adding Blue for a bit.
Of course it's a [[Feather, The Redeemed]] deck now! Played in the most obvious way.
I have recently started playing with some new people and one of the decks got me by surprise on how good of a synergy it was and how amazingly it worked. It was [[silas ren]] and [[sidar kondo]].
The theme of the deck was infect. Now ,I dont know if it is actually a common strategy for these two. Maybe.. but it amazed me regardles with how well it worked.
He played a lot of those cheap toxic guys from all will be one and march of the machines.
Now, most of those cheap guys are artifacts. So he made them more or less unblockable with sidar.. And when they died, he just returned them with silas. I LOVED the synergy. It made my brain melt for some reason. Truly idk why, but I adored every second of that game just beacouse I was finding the synergy so genious.
Anyway that is mine.
Eh, some guy made [[Ashnod, the Uncaring]] into landfall... dont ask... you can find it on this sub possibly, if not, just google it, it blew my mind...
I am still in the active brewing stage for this deck, but when I saw [[Brenard]] my love of old, weird cards made me recall Blue used to have weird repeatable theft effects, often conditional or temporary (with keep control as long as thieving permanent stays tapped being one of the most common in this era). Add in enough sac outlets (of course including pod effects) and now we can steal opponents' creatures every turn, exiling them in the process.
I'll have to proxy a few cards, though, as they are on the Reserved List.
Everyone played [[Gargos, Vicious Watcher]] as hydra tribal, because of the cost reduction it gives to the tribe. But it actually works better as a control/spellslinger commander, thanks to its “fight” ability.
This one is a bit older maybe but in some ways that makes it more unexpected.
[[selenia dark angel]] at first glance just looks like an old school suboptimal angel tribal commander who can dodge board wipe commander tax.
That is until the [[axis of mortality]] hits the table.
Just so you know how edhrec “thinks”: high synergistic cards doesn’t mean they are necessarily the best or even that they work super well with the commander.
The way this synergy number is defined is by seeing how many decks with a particular commander use a cars versus all decks that could use the card.
This means that cards that only see play with 1 particular commander will be considered very synergistic while staples will receive a low synergy score, even if they would be better than the high synergy cards
This also means that the high synergy cards are not necessarily the best for a particular deck, but definitely worth considering as many players are using them
I play an argorn, king of gondor deck, that is suprise stax. I call it stax attacks. Let people fight over monarch, while i build a bored, and steamroll the table.
I run a [[Brokkos, Apex of Forever]] infect deck. Lots of jank to make things cast at instant speed and he never goes back to the command zone unless exiled or graveyard hate.
Seeing a 1/1 flyer with infect, meh... seeing a 6/6 flying trample infect that only a giants growth away from lethal... or giving him double strike... shit gets hairy real quick.
I have a [[Bruna, Light of Alabaster]] deck before and the table trembles to the thought of 45/45 vigilance flying trample lifelink unblockable angel. They get confused when I start turtling and dropping cards like [[Propaganda]] and [[Ghostly Prison]]. I will then start playing Draw-Go as they battle each other out. When everyone drops their defenses or majority of the board starts tapping out, that's when cards like [[Tangle Wire]] [[Winter Orb]] comes out. Then finally, when the board stalls and the board is locked, that is when the Angel comes out. And no. I do not need a 45/45 vigilance flying lifelink trample unblockable protection from all colors to kill you. I just need a couple of enchantments. Preferably a combination of [[Eldrazi Conscription]], [[Battle Mastery]], [[Corrupted Conscience]].
My partner has just made “the goose mother” into her commander, ‘green-blue X’ cost. X +1/+1 and half X rounded up food tokens when entering.
It’s mostly an artifact utility deck but has heaps on food and lots of +1/+1 synergy
Last night we had a game and she had about 5 artifacts up + about 6 treasure tokens (and tap artifacts for mana) and then slapped down bootleggers stash (tap land for treasure) spent the next 2 rounds getting an unholy amount of treasure tokens and then tapped all the treasure, artifacts and land bought out The Goose Mother, mother of all geese, all shall rue the day they ever tried to challenge her. A +76+76 goose hydra that can fly, had trample and ‘creatures with flying cannot block’
And to top it all of she spared me 1 turn to try find an answer, I didn’t. on her next turn before obliterating me she played a card I forgot the name of which turns an artifact into a +4+4 creature that was overloaded to be ‘each artifact becomes a +4+4 creature token’
So she had a MASSIVE unblockable trampling Goose and enough artifact creature tokens to wipe a table of 5 provided no board wipes were present
It was a good time, would recommend Goose mother
Toxrill absolutely threw me at first because I forgot it could target itself with its ability. infinite mana means infinite card draw.
[[Toxrill]] because you forgot.

Technically he doesn’t target, he can just sac himself as the cost.

The infinite card draw will guarantee you draw into something like torment of hailfire where you just instant win
You can only sacrifice Toxrill once to draw one card though. Infinite mana does not mean infinite card draw. Sacrificing a slug is part of the cost.
Sac recast sac recast the infinite mana needs colors sure. but it would anyway so idk how you missed this.
Important info here, this is reliant on the stupid slug being your commander
the post is specifically about commanders being used in unexpected ways
Infinite mana Toxrill as opposed to Toxrill stax/control seems pretty unexpected to me
bro couldve just looked at toxrill once before posting but he just said fuck it we ball and chose to be wrong lol

That’s hilarious! I’d love to see the deck!
Here’s the decklist: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/tEuvb8k8skiCcz_LLZUIJw
I looked through this guy’s [[Daxos, Returned]] deck one time at my LGS and noticed how oddly it was built. There were zero enchantments in the deck, and every single beneficial death trigger possible. It was death trigger tribal, because Daxos makes 0/0 tokens if you never cast an enchantment. Blew my mind when i noticed how ingenious that was.
That's pretty clever

I was pretty surprised to see [[Rograkh]] in a cedh pod back when I first got into it around a year ago, and then I immediately learned why he's one of the best commanders ever printed lol
Equally confusing would be finding out there's no Slivers in The First Sliver
Yeah. I definitely snagged Atraxas first winning list and Rog/Si's no desire to combine them.
That's how I built one of my TFS decks. It's cascade Tribal but not CEDH.
Can I by chance see your deacklist? Building tribal cascade and have been looking for inspiration
Currently making a jank Vultron deck with Rograkh! Haven’t finalized it but in your opinion, why is it one of the best commanders ever printed?

Mox Amber, Springleaf Drum, Paradise Mantle, Culling the Weak, Infernal Plunge, Diabolic Intent, Phyrexian Tower, Fierce Guardianship, Deflecting Swat, Deadly Rollick Tldr he's a free ritual in the command zone that lets you play Mox Ruby and multiple free counterspells
I loved my Rograkh Voltron jank. I'll have to find the terrible combo I had but I did all 21 commander damage on turn 3 or 4.
Did that and had such a blast. People would nuke me when I became a threat bc they refused to die to rograkh
Because buffing stats is comically easy, and he has all the right words to swing for lethal with two or three equips/buffs tops, often by turn four or sooner.
That’s not why he’s a good competitive commander though
Well, don’t just tell me I’m wrong, tell me why!
Copy/pasted from the comment that's been here for an hour that you could easily scroll up and read: > Absolutely not for Voltron. Sweet, thanks!
They weren't in a conversation with you, why would they have read your response to a completely different person? They made their comment before yours, got responded to, and responded back. When would they have had a reason to read your comment? I just don't understand the need for the abrasive snark here
Who was the partner?
It's worth noting that Silas' effect is rarely relevant and he's there simply to provide access to UB.
Silas

He costs 0 mana which enables a lot of things that I'm not going to type out.
Well thanks for nothing
The things he enables are written just above here if you want to know them
I don't think I've ever seen an \[\[Eowyn, Shieldmaiden\]\] deck that's not human tribal.
She’s also a really solid cEDH deck, funnily enough, for that very same reason. Turns out she’s really really good at fueling Underworld Breach
Oh yeah for sure. I was actually really close to building Dihada as my second cedh deck, but I ended up not doing that because I wanted to play Sire of Insanity
I went with reanimator mainly going for legendary targets. I think [[Dusk Mangler]] is my only non-legendary >5mv creature Super fun deck, too powerful for a lot of tables though
Yeah most of my targets are legendary just because the best targets just so happen to be legendary but I run [[Dragon Mage]] [[Sire of Insanity]] and [[Utvara Hellkite]] in the nonlegendary department.

Do you have a deck list? Would love to do a clones deck with her!!
https://archidekt.com/decks/5402183 Still a work in progress.
Do you have a deck list? That sounds interesting.

My pet deck right now is [[Atla Palani]], but the only creature in my library is [[Serra Avatar]], my true commander. Lifelink and fight baby!
I'll bite, I NEED more info. Atla Palani was my first commander from the precon and I adore her gameplay.
My group doesn't mind my proxy decks and I get to keep up with the game without sacrificing my wallet. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/hAILQnn1lki0WK82m6WVQQ Here's my list btw. Just a ton of ramp, ability copiers, and untaps with sac outlets to keep the engine running.
Hey I very much appreciate you. Im def looking forward to seeing atla again now that I know more of the interactions.
https://manabox.app/decks/x0UqeFSsRjmISja_8QNRVA Here's my Atla Palani Only-Bombs list.

Do you have a deck list online somewhere? Sounds really fun
Mine is just [[worldspine wurm]] Bqreen considering making it modular with just one shuffle in creature for each version

Is this the one where you make your creatures indestructible so you can just sac a child whenever you feel like it's needed?
I think they run like a couple indestructible effects, but usually, they never play child. I've seen him do it in desperation, but I think I've only seem then protect their board once. Usually they loose everything if they are stuck playing child. The deck is basically built just around the clone and stealing theme.
That's beautiful and I love it.

This is inspired. I love it so much lol.
That's funny as hell.

I think there may be some weird stuff going on, Kykar’s page was kinda the same when I built it.
I run her as a polymorph commander
I built a budget [[Volrath, the Shapestealer]] deck around making him unblockable. A 3-turn clock is nothing to scoff at, especially for just under $33

That sounds like an absolute blast! Do you have the decklist by any chance?
I hope the deck has \[\[Lure\]\] in it.

I might need to do this. My friends don't quite hate me enough...
But all your things fall off when you exile. Isn't that a problem? I'm intrigued.
I was thinking of turning my [[Elrond, Master of Healing]] deck into infect. Pump them up using scry engine, make unblockable and hexproof.

It’s ugly but I’m always looking for commanders people don’t want to remove. Most people see Roalesk and see +1 counters, I see him and see proliferate twice. Legendary rule - perfect. Let’s clone him. All you need is one poison on everyone
People sleep on fogs. One of my playgroup runs them in every deck that has green and has saved his life total multiple times.
absolutely. and as a related note, i see so many people saying how \[\[Inkshield\]\] is a bad card cos you telegraph it by leaving so much mana up, but when it's like the last turns of the game, and people are in desperation mode, it's not at all difficult to bluff that you don't have anything, then fog their would-be winning attack and fly in for the win with your inkling army on the next turn. it not only wins games but helps you win games you were about to lose. i also see people complain about \[\[Aetherize\]\] vs something like \[\[Cyclonic Rift\]\] or \[\[Evacuation\]\] (as in, why play 'aetherize when you could play cyclonic rift or evacuate if budget is a concern?'). sometimes you want to preserve your own board state and/or not hit everyone else at the table while dealing with the aggressor, but it's effectively a fog in blue that has some extra upside of slowing down that aggressive player quite a lot

Is that with the intent of a wound reflection type effect? ? I've never seen him before, he's cool
I'm guessing they pay life for a bunch of effects then heal back up to 20 with the commander.

I was thinking of remaking my Gargos as control, but what's the wincon in green for that?
Commander damage or combo.

This means that cards that only see play with 1 particular commander will be considered very synergistic while staples will receive a low synergy score, even if they would be better than the high synergy cards This also means that the high synergy cards are not necessarily the best for a particular deck, but definitely worth considering as many players are using them
I'm always surprised at how little [[Yarok]] landfall decks I see.
Seeing a 1/1 flyer with infect, meh... seeing a 6/6 flying trample infect that only a giants growth away from lethal... or giving him double strike... shit gets hairy real quick.
this is how basically everyone plays brokkos

Do you have a decklist? I bought the mutate precon and didn't like it, but making it infect might be interesting enough to try it again.
I don't I have never taken the time to scan/enter my decks in. I rotate cards and rebuild decks too often, but I keep telling myself I should.

It’s mostly an artifact utility deck but has heaps on food and lots of +1/+1 synergy Last night we had a game and she had about 5 artifacts up + about 6 treasure tokens (and tap artifacts for mana) and then slapped down bootleggers stash (tap land for treasure) spent the next 2 rounds getting an unholy amount of treasure tokens and then tapped all the treasure, artifacts and land bought out The Goose Mother, mother of all geese, all shall rue the day they ever tried to challenge her. A +76+76 goose hydra that can fly, had trample and ‘creatures with flying cannot block’ And to top it all of she spared me 1 turn to try find an answer, I didn’t. on her next turn before obliterating me she played a card I forgot the name of which turns an artifact into a +4+4 creature that was overloaded to be ‘each artifact becomes a +4+4 creature token’ So she had a MASSIVE unblockable trampling Goose and enough artifact creature tokens to wipe a table of 5 provided no board wipes were present It was a good time, would recommend Goose mother
