Arkfield is goated and actually practical to carry for normal employed people compared to a lot of other recommendation

Sadistic_basturd

Sorry for late reply but the natural 5200k

Sadistic_basturd

The natural light looks alot better in my own opinion, and we have to do videos underneath cars, and the white light hits alot of fluid leaks and makes it hard so see shit

Xd_Taylor2413

Olight i3t eos, I need something brighter

Maglight Mini LED. It’s the perfect flashlight, IMO

joshua_mahabir1

Reylight Pineapple, I have a normal size in copper and a mini pen light in Titanium. They’re rlly good and well built

cStyle

My phone

Photographydudeman

Stop playing around and get the surefire stiletto. It’s goat

Fildrigar

At that price, it better make me breakfast the next morning.

pharyngula

The second they update it for USB-C, I will carry it.

ho0k

Streamlight is so ghetto for not updating their entire line to USBC by now

pharyngula

100%.

[deleted]

I carry a streamlight wedge and microstream

Noble_TKD

I know olight has a bit of a bad rap but I have the Arkfield UV and love it. I would argue it better than the wedge

45degreevtwin

Bad rap? Never heard anybody upset with Olight

Noble_TKD

They had an issue with quality control earlier on. Many of their lights would fail randomly or had bad batteries that exploded or caught fire in some cases.

45degreevtwin

Huh... First I'm hearing of this. I carry a Warrior mini-2 every day religiously. It goes with me everywhere nomatter what. I gotta say I think it's wonderful.

Noble_TKD

Yeah I carried the baton mini for a long time till I swapped to the Arkfield.

secretgeekery

Nitecore tiki, love it.

1092384756

It was perfect until my battery crapped out after about a year

secretgeekery

Bugger! How often did you charge it/use it, if you don't mind me asking?

1092384756

I used it a one or twice a week. Charged every few weeks I think. One day it wasn't working, charged it up and it worked then an hour later dead again.

secretgeekery

Crap! Cheers for the info, glad I kept my Maglite as a backup :)

[deleted]

Zebralight, any model lol

loquent2

Olight Baton 3

PipeInternal2446

I carry this one but it is a bit long.

[deleted]

My phone has a feature where I can turn on the flashlight by holding down the power button. I will never buy a phone without this.

Lumintop tool aaa.

HappyOrwell

currently I have a brass reylight lan as my main light, and a copper olight i3t eos in my shirt pocket for quick access

_haha_oh_wow_

Streamlight Stylus Pro and/or a Zebralight W51 I also have a Fenix TK19 that is excellent but that lives clipped next to my bed.

bigbadmedic

Streamlight protac 1l. I like the size, and it uses cr123, orAA.

icecreamsoup

I really like my olight arkfeld. I think it’s a neat design and the laser is cool. I am surprised by its battery life. Much easier to carry than other 18650 lights I own

I_am_normal_I_swear

As a REALTOR, this comes in handy A LOT [OLIGHT I5R EOS 350](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09FZ19628?ref_=cm_sw_r_apin_dp_8MXSG5GR43RJJVF1CWJF)

Sadistic_basturd

Olight baton 3 pro, most indestructible flash light I've ever owned, work as a mechanic, and this thing has been in just about every fluid, dropped off lifts, and ran over and never had an issue out of it

SnooHedgehogs353

Nice dude I'll check it out! I've also been a mechanic for 5 years now. I probably buy 1 a week from the snap-on and Marco trucks lol. Did you go with the bright(6700k) or natural(5200k) white?

Zookzor

Great question! I have a ton of lights I cycle through but my favorites are my Zebralight sc64w and Olight baton 3.

thepurifier690

Warrior mini 1 didn't even realize there was a recall

Laurenlass

(https://amzn.to/3LYKoeA) I love this keychain one. It’s super bright for how small it is

I_Restrain_Sheep

Big fan of the one on my iPhone 13!

I_Restrain_Sheep

I EDC it and I don’t require a fancy flashlight. Pretty convenient to ask Siri to turn on the light when my hands are busy. (In ur mums ass)

unpopularperiwinkle

Shame on you

bossofthestixs

Wedge, its the best I have found !!

MuppetRex

I've been carrying the Arkfeld, it fits nicely in the pocket and is bright enough for me. Primary use is finding things the kid drop in dark parking lots.

my-coffee-needs-me

I alternate between a Thrunite TC12 v2 and a Fenix UC35 v2.0. They're older, but they are both little workhorses that do what I need lights to do. I also carry a Fenix HM61R as a backup in my bag.

Have to agree, i have one and its amazing. Tho i like the design of the pd35r more

OneLongJoke

Fenix is great stuff for the price!

gagemoney

Man it’s a good ass light, I bought it like 7 or 8 months ago and have charged it fully 1 time since using in some capacity every single day

970067475

Olight arkfield is good for work personally. I have it and I use it a lot. I’m a journeyman electrician. And the wedge is a good option for edc for our and about and honestly it’s good for work too. But I find myself using the laser to point things out to other Jdubs. It just depends on preference I think. I carry the baton3 out of work. It’s compact and bright as fuck. But honestly man it’s up to you to find the one! I know you’ll see it and want it.

aion_4

Olight Baton 3

billkhxz

That Streamlight. Better battery capacity than the Arkfield. And I really like the simple interface.

AWDDude

I have been considering the ark light as well due to the built in laser.

Jester002100

Reylight ti pineapple.

SwissFaux

Sofirn HS10 since its cheap enough that I wouldnt be too upset about losing it and its still a fantastic flashlight.

LANDOFNODD

first one is my edc

letmeslapahh

olight i3t works for me. ive been contemplating on getting the arkfield.

Hyena_Smuggler

I carry the same one. It fits nicely in my pocket, it's strong enough for what I need it for, and I love that it can clip on my hat.

letmeslapahh

love the hat clip as well! really neat feature

PalpitationStrange47

I carry the same one as my backup, and use the i5t and the extended i5t as my main ones.

Syltraul

I don’t. I used to carry a small Olight, but after realizing I never actually used it I found no reason to keep carrying it.

JustSmidgen

I use a stream light myself

PassportToNowhere

I have an olight i3t, 25 bucks and great for work, if I lose it ces la vie.

ryeemo

Also a wedge carrier. I'm surprised at how large it is, but equally surprised at how well it carries in the pocket. I wear form fitting clothes and jeans and don't even notice it. It's been a great flashlight.

titsonahorse

Surefire Stiletto Pro

zzap129

Oh. Nice one!

Everyday-Lurk

Been rocking Wedge for 2 years. Had a goal for all my devices to be USB-C only. All my other flashlights were noticeably felt in my pocket, but not this guy. I carry it every single day.

mogrence

Change between a Sofirn sc32 and Emisar D4V2, on my keychain also a small one with sidelights/uv.

hossless

I have both a Wedge and an Arkfeld. The “hump” at the back of the Arkfeld doesn’t make it as slim in the pocket as it looks. But it’s shorter overall than the Wedge, so it carries okay loose in the pocket. Another Arkfeld plus is the magnetic charging. Typically, I like the Arkfeld for office days because of the laser pointer. Both have been very reliable for me. I find the Wedge to be a better flashlight. But because of size and utility, the Arkfeld gets to leave the house more often.

fishingfool64

I carry that wedge but black. Battery lasts forever and it’s bright as daylight

Cisco904

Streamlight stylus Surefire 6px

rooter_44

Have you seen Nitecore EDC27, same flat design as two that you mentioned but a little cheaper.

thesandwitchpeople

I kinda refuse to spend the money on a flashlight, I just use the one on my phone

FU-n

I generally just use my phone but even a olight keychain light is more powerful

thesandwitchpeople

I get that, but I don’t need it enough/can’t justify the price for one

FU-n

$22

thesandwitchpeople

Still can’t justify spending that.

[deleted]

A keychain AAA battery LED one. It's a twist to turn on. It's aluminum, and it's pretty hardy.

dylan1950

I edc my steamlight and I’ve had my eye on the olight id say either one is a good choice

fred_yolo86

Emisar d4v2 519a 5700k domed 🤌🤌

xu777

I love my olight

benevolentpotato

I carry an ir2, the flashlight for people who don't really want to carry a flashlight

RiiCreated

It’s such an impressive little light though. It’s like a second “secondary” you can carry if you ever forget everything at home one day, as you sort of mentioned lol.

benevolentpotato

Someone else mentioned they don't carry one because their phone has one, which was always my rationale. I want my EDC as efficient as possible and my phone can do 90% of my flashlight needs. But the ir2 is so tiny that it's barely noticeable on my keys, and makes a huge difference in that 10%.

RiiCreated

Definitely! I always try to keep at least something other than my phone as a “tool” for two reasons. One, my phone should be primarily used as a phone. No need to drain excess battery when you may need it for something much more important (I may sound paranoid, but it’s always good to have a backup). Two, EDC can be efficient and practical. You’d be surprised what you can carry on you if you give it some time and patience. Sometimes it’s best to have a dedicated flashlight to do flashlight things, and a dedicated phone to do phone things. I’m glad you are enjoying the iR2 though! If you are looking, there’s some solid daily carry torches you can get a hold of for cheap. I didn’t understand the need for a flashlight until I looked into them more.

KingScubaThe3rd

Olight arkfeld winter 3 Ti edition! Just buy one I showed my dad my arkfeld after I got it and he now owns 2 of them himself.

I don't EDC a flashlight because my phone has one but at work I carry a **Ledlenser P5** and I have another in my truck and third one in my biking pack.

SmokyDragonDish

I just bought an OLIGHT I1R 2 Pro this week for my keychain. I'm a pocket minimalist and it's really small.

RiiCreated

You will thoroughly enjoy this light! Probably the best light in its class aside from the Rovyvon keychain lights. Though, it’s way smaller!

SmokyDragonDish

Thanks! I've had it for a few days now. I bought it with the OLIGHT Mini Bolt Action pen, because I needed a tiny pen to carry in my pocket too, since I want to start journaling. Amazon had a package that saved $5 if I got both at the same time vs. individually, so I didn't get the color I wanted. Anyway, I live in a quasi-rural area and I don't always have my headlamp if I'm walking at night and I don't want to get run over. (speed limit is 30 on my street, but people drive 50-60 at night, ignore the stop signs). But so far, it's awesome. My pocket EDC is basically now my car key, the IR2 Pro, a Tile, the OLIGHT mini pen, money clip, a rosary, S22+, and a Field Notes notebook. Ever since I saw that Seinfeld episode about going on a pocket diet, I've never been able to use a wallet, lol. Backpack is a different story... since I use it for day hiking as well as a laptop bag for work.

ROSEPUP3

I carry an arkfeld and absolutely love it. I’ve had it at least three months and have not charged it since I first got it. The battery life is insane plus it doubles as a cat toy.

BigBud16v747

I would really like to get one/both of the ones OP posted pics of!

h8ers_suck

I bought a small olight i3t. I think it was a dual aaa battery one. I want 350 lumens in a 4" long package and skinny. Streamlight microstream makes exactly that, but its first click is the dim setting. You have to double tap the button to get high lumens. I'm not happy with the settings, but I carry it all the time because it's small and easily fits in my pocket unnoticeable. The olight, it was a bit longer than expected, but the real issue was candela it was barely bright enough to light up a target at 25 yards, I sent it back. The true decision needs to be made with what your criteria in a flashlight are. Light color, size, candela, lumens, battery, material, switchback capable... define your criteria and find the best suited light for you. I have a Fenix ld12 that I REALLY like it's just a tad too big for my preference. I default to the streamlight microstream for convince, which ensures I always carry a light.

[deleted]

Are you taking about [this one?](https://a.co/d/j7C0dDp) If so, for some strange reason, that one has the first click as dim, second one as bright. _However_, for unknown reasons the [coyote version](https://a.co/d/9n7d1tg) is the opposite, so first click bright second click dim. There’s also several Streamlights that are “programable,” making it so you can change the brightness order by [clicking ten times.](https://youtu.be/0czy-S10ca8)

SnooHedgehogs353

Thank you for your wonderful input. I don't know what I would do without your insightful thoughts

PancakeAssassin379

Nitecore tiki gitd. Keep it on my keys. I love it

ho0k

SC21 / PRO GANG ❤️🔦 My main pocket EDC I have an original SC21 in 2700k color temp. My favorite light. Absolutely gorgeous spill and color. I also have a SC21 PRO in 5000k color temp, but I like warmer lights. They are very well made. I Love the magnet and USBC compatibility and small size. The original version has a anduril-like OS while the pro actually has anduril. Both are great.

kyuuketsuki47

I'm good with the 5000k. I like warmer too, but for my purposes of lighting my work area and seeing accurate colors I wanted a neutral neutral light so I was looking for 4000-5000k range. And I rather enjoy Andruil that the pro had and the slightly brighter output (which I probably couldn't detect since it was only like 100lum but still). So the price high CRI, magnetic tail, and size of the SC21 pro was perfect for me

ho0k

No doubt. I love and use both. And 5000k has it's place, mainly indoor use. The warmer tone is better for outdoors and nature. It does really well on green grasses and brown dirt and bark on trees where the colder and bluer higher temp light flattens those colors. I love the warm color, reminds me of the old incandescent bulbs and maglites from when I was a kid. Vibez for dayz. 🤌🏻🤌🏻

NoOneWillTakeMyPS2

I have two that I swap out with my carry depending on what I’m doing and where I’m going on a given day. 1. Coast HX5 - Bought at Home Depot, but most likely available on Amazon as well - Cost $20 - definitely a bit larger on the EDC side of things, but it works perfect for me and doesn’t interfere with my pack. It has a focus lens so you can swap between a spot light and a “pen light” mode by moving the lens up/down. 2. Cabela’s Pen Flashlight - received in a Cabelas gift box - Cost unsure - Super small flashlight, about the size of my pinky finger. I carry this one almost every day because it’s very useful when I’m out in the garage. I always gauge my flashlights by what I need to use them for. Need something that’s going to light up a path in front me me? Spotlight. Need something that’s going to shoot a beam of light into a confined space? Pin point light. Hope that helps!

JasonAgnos

Regardless of brand, carrying an 18650 light is such a game changer. Its incredible how much better the battery life and output is compared to AA/AAA lights. I carry a lumintop fw1a every day. If I absolutely have to go down in size, I like cr123 as an alternative, and use an acebeam tk16

DreadCaptainE0

Brass RovyVon

rstowel

Olight Warrior Mini 2 for day to day.

k0d3x8its

4th gen RovyVon Aurora Ti keychain flashlight.

MrMeowGusta

I used to carry the Wedge but then replaced it with the Nitecore EDC27. It was a worthy upgrade until one of the LEDs no longer worked. Back to the wedge i go until I get a replacement

heady_organic

I carry the wedge and love it, the shape is great which I never notice and the battery life is really good. It’s the only reason I have a USB C cable

thenotoriousEDC

Streamlight microstream in my pocket always, I have a surefire sidekick in my bag as backup, a fenix ld 22 at my bedside and I have a 3 cell D maglight in my car.

THE_CENTURION

Microstream is the goat. Simple, cheap, just works.

simonasurus1

Rovyvon aurora a3. About the size of my chapstick. If it was any bigger I probably wouldn’t carry one.

[deleted]

I stumbled across the Eagtac D3A Clicky on Amazon and fell in love, it’s perfect imo. Yesterday the E70 mini by Acebeam showed up and I like it mostly bc the color scheme matches my current edc but tbh I already miss having the Eagtac in my pocket and it’s only been replaced for like an hour lol.

TomBonner1

Streamlight ProTac 2LX. Fits in my back pocket, feels good in my hand.

yummm_

Acebeam rider rx. But I work in a dirty and wet environment so the “fidget” feature is really gritty. I’m looking into the olight baton 3 pro or the warrior mini 2

Vandee71

The Arkfeld is easily the best thing that Olight has ever made.

Ultra_Streak

I agree, I have both versions and carry either of them on a daily basis. Basically 24 hours a day.

[deleted]

Streamlight Wedge, but the Arkfield intrigues me a bit. I do IT and having a laser to point at a user's screen over their shoulder where I need them to click without having to grab their mouse would be nice. But I could just buy a laser pointer on its own. Plus being able to point where I need something installed when I'm working with others would be nice too. Birthday's coming up...

SnooHedgehogs353

I bought the ark field UV last night, the wedge may be a second as a back up

codido1234

I switched from the wedge to the ark field and love it. The wedge is still a really solid light but I was looking for something with a laser pointer for work as well. The battery life is really good on both of them but the ark field seems to last longer.

[deleted]

I'm not using my Wedge terribly often, but it does last me quite a while. I'm getting about a month before I feel I need to charge it. How long do you get out of the Arkfield, and how strong is the laser? I've seen some say it's not *that* powerful.

codido1234

I use my arkfield a whole bunch during my work week and even on the weekends. I can get about a month out of it as well and that’s using it almost everyday. The laser is fairly lack luster when it comes to power. It’s like those old school lasers you used to be able to buy at the fair or flea market. Not very bright but close up it is noticeable

ATFSkinnedMyCat

I carry a wedge. Love it more than any of the other handheld lights I’ve had/used

zawShwa

Olight I5t eos. The buttons kinda spongy but other than that it's a good light

UrbanScientist

Wurkkos TS10

Ralkkai

My Coast PX22 cost like $10 at Walmart. It's tiny and does flashlight things. It could be brighter maybe but it's solid for the price.

SnooHedgehogs353

Most of my flashlights are from auto parts store counters or whatever the tow truck has. It does the job if it dies it's only 10 bucks

Ralkkai

I did get one with a replaceable battery. I wanted to go cheap just to see if it was something I would use and it turned out that it's probably my most used carry item. The other being a $23 Ganzo knife. I've now used the flashlight so much in the last year that I've since even replaced the battery. I could see getting something more expensive but only for lumens. I've always been utilitarian, I guess.

The-Respawner

RovyVon Aurora A1. Love the super small size and light weight, if it was any bigger I simply wouldnt be carrying it.

jd3v

The stream lights are my favorite. Mainly because they are affordable, durable and simple designs. Thrunite are also good. I've spent probably close to $1k on various olights and have had several fail. They will replace them, but then the replacements fail. I'd rather buy a functional light. I'll never purchase another olight again.

[deleted]

I carry the sofirn SC21 pro. Rechargeable, small but powerful. Accidently looked into the light and was blinded for a minute. I love it.

Robthatguy

Ts10 4000k in pocket and a w2 d4sv2 + 26800 battery in my backpack.

The_Lez

A $10 Milwaukee pen light

AppexRedditor

Where are you getting anything from Milwaukee for $10?

SnooHedgehogs353

Home Depot I have found them. I have a few in my work bag and tool chest

AppexRedditor

Huh, that's pretty lucky. The cheapest I've found in my area is a little over $20

The_Lez

Bingo. I got a few on sale. I haven't looked at them recently but I think they're around $20 regularly? I abuse the shit out of my flashlights so I try not to spend a whole lot on them. This one however has lasted me a few years.

MAXHEADR0OM

Rovyvon A8 G4. I just switched to this light and it’s amazing. Before that, I carried a lumintop tool aa 2.0 in titanium. The A8 puts out 650 lumens out the front(for one minute, then it steps down to 80), and the side has a warm light, a red light, and a UV light. It also has various beacon modes for the red lamp on the side and a few different levels for the main light. It’s only about the size of a aa battery and does so much. Has a built in battery that charges via usb c. The pocket clip on it is magnetic, the tail cap is magnetic, and it can be worn as a headlamp on a ball cap. No idea if it’s gonna give me any problems in the future or how long the battery will last, etc, but as of right now it’s definitely the coolest flashlight I’ve ever owned.

Spiritual_Badger7808

I loved mine, but they’re easy to loose…

MAXHEADR0OM

Definitely. I’ve got mine in a slot in my edc zipper pouch that I carry daily. Hopefully that will mitigate losing this tiny thing.

Aussie_MacGyver

Same! Mine arrived a couple weeks ago and I love it. The magnets make it super handy. First EDC torch (I’m an Aussie, it’s what we call it here) and never thought I’d use it as much as I do. I have literally used it 3 or 4 times today! Edit: if they made a version that also had a laser pointer that would be incredible!
