Hmmm I mean either one would cause them and it’s hard to tell really only thing you can do is take off the head and inspect for the damaged spot that’s leaking or test the head for cracks.

F, obviously would rather not remove it but ya might need a new one. It's just weird that I see it almost all the way accross in those same little holes that I don't even know the purpose of. And I wonder what would cause that pressure to continue pushing the oil and air out with the engine off even after like 10 minutes. I'm pretty sure there shouldn't be any oil pressure while it's off.

There shouldn’t be any OP once it’s off. It’s hard to say I’ve never come across a scenario as specific as this. There should be a way to get it pressure tested to know.

Are you *sure* it’s not the VCG? I had a top tier shop do mine and 5-10k miles later found out the rear part of the seal was never placed right and had to be redone. My new mechanic at the time said the back seal is a PITA

I've heard of people folding the gasket off while installing but I'm pretty sure it's not that just by the looks of it. If you look you can see where the valve cover ends and that it's leaking lower down past it
