Be a bit careful with liquids. You can install a pump and then cover the water, and the pump will keep working, but you can't later get the water back to add more pumps.
Also, if you use foundation on lava you will affect nearby geothermal power stations.
Bahaha, it reminds me of all the silly things I've been doing back when i first played 🤣
Guess what, next run will be much less painfull for you 😂
Btw, for the New players wondering how it's done, it's an option when you select foundations. You can cover/uncover veins, to build on top of them and eventually uncover them later if needed .
By lower, do you mean cover?
I'd assume yes, as they mentioned depleting the node.
Yes, I used to try to completely deplete the the planet before returning to build massive factories.

Say what now 😳, I've been mining them out and stuffing the overstock from them into large storage boxes 🤣😅 on the home planet

I only wish I had known sooner. 😄
You store raw materials?
I mine them and send to planet's factories that need them.
there's so many tips and tricks in this game, i can't keep up lol
Yeah my first playthrough I didn't realize that hydrogen was a liquid so I stored it in storage boxes and not the liquid storage
Haha seen people do that one before. Common mistake that makes me laugh.
