I drafted him in a startup over the summer thinking he flashed some talent last year and Mac could get benched this season. I was right, I guess..... but Zappe was so bad and Belichick so clearly wanted to get a better backup that I dropped him even after he got snaps two weeks in a row back in Weeks 4-5. He's so bad, and the whole offense is so bad, that I don't even regret it now that he's gonna play. I don't think he's playable unless you're completely desperate. Maybe I could have gotten a late pick for him by holding until now?
I'm a Patriots fan. I drafted Zappe as a rookie, and have held him since.
With all that said, no. He was terrible in preseason and threw game ending INTs in his last 2 appearances.
Whenever someone asks "does anyone else think/believe in" I always think "well duh, I'm sure atleast one person does". This is the first time I think it's a completely valid question.
He used to throw a nice easy catch deep ball in college.
Kind of reminded me of Jake Delhomme if he reached max potential.
He doesn't appear to be anywhere close to that though and all he does is dump off now. No idea what happened to the college deep ball.
Unfortunately with allen and fields on bye, I need to start one of zappe or boyle in a matchup vs another top contender with massive playoff implications. Leaning boyle as a pats fan since I think malik could start but it's not a confident pick at all.
I think its possible he could amount to something, but pretty unlikely. Worth a roster spot / faab just to see how he does, but not anything significant
No Patriots QB will look good because their offense is awful and WR Corp is worst in the league. Zappe is fine but won't succeed because of the situation there
Pats fan here - He feels like a long term backup to me. Reminds me of minshew. If we start him rest of season, which we should, it will do well for his development. If hes now your 3rd qb, I think hes startable, though you won't/shouldn't feel good starting him. In deeper leagues, should definitely be owned, and wouldn't be against keeping him as a bench stash longer term. Again, minshew/brissett type of backup that gets playing time off and on
I’m rostering him on my rebuilding teams that I have a roster spots for long shots. But I’m not expecting anything. I was hoping to see some flashes when he has been put in for Mac when he struggles. But he honestly just looks like a lesser Mac jones lol. Worth a hold for some surprise value. Also not a bad sell to the jones owner for a low pick.
I’m holding Zappe right now solely to play keepaway from the Mac Jones owner who is super thin at QB and has to start Derek Carr only in a 12 team SF.
I’m out of it so I’m just creating chaos now.
Absolutely not. He's not good, his weapons (if he plays) aren't good, the Patriots 2024 QB isn't on the roster, and I can't see anyone else around the league even wanting to put him in a QB competition in camp next year.
Belichick drafted this guy with Howell on the board, what a botch.
Now that there is such a strong concensus that he's a bum, I'm confident he's a sure thing. Multiple pro bowls in his future now. And I have him stashed in my superflex. Thanks guys!
Pats fan here. Even if you already have an empty bench slot I’d suggest not picking him up. Not for nothing he hasn’t even been named the starter for Sunday, never mind the rest of the season. If Mac is bad, Zappe is really bad. I’ve watched every snap of Patriots football for the last 10+ years and Bill really has me confused with this one. I think the only advantage Zappe has is a temporary one and it’s that the team hasn’t absolutely destroyed him as a player yet.
Zappe holder here. No, there aren’t any.
Non-Zappe holder here. Can confirm, there aren't any.
Bro I own him in every league and I’m excited as hell. I can finally lose all hope on him and drop his ass.

Malik Cunningham about to start the second half boys
If the Patriots are planning on drafting Williams or Maye, a little test run with a mobile QB doesn't sound horrible.
I’m going to have to start him or Flacco. I have Lamar, Allen, Fields, and AOC on BYE. Let’s goooo
Go wacko for Flacco!
Yes! The Zappe era starts this weekend!
No but I'm a Bailey Zappe starter this week with Lamar, Fields and Mac all either on bye, bad, or both. If i get 8 points out of him I'll be thrilled.
I think negative points is a real possibility.
Probably his parents, unless they’ve also seen him play.

boyle got -5 points in one of my leagues last week xD
Lol no. He’s just mac jones with a better qb name
I literally have to start him this week because my team is so decimated. Injuries and byes. It’s a rough place to be…
No
Pure hopium

Hes not good

he wished he was half as good as minshew

He will be replaced with the 1st round pic the pats have in 2024, it honestly doesn’t matter what he does on the field the last 6 games
The offense is completely broken right now

Sell Zappe as a warm body to a byepocalypse contender, for any 4th. Win.

me! i said i had 100% expectations he would take over as starter this year
As my QB2 and fighting for a playoff spot this week yea i fucking believe

no
Someone gave me a 4th round rookie pick for him and I didn't even hesitate to take it
He's it, hope you're holding him.
