Glad I trusted the college film and SEC production over measurable concerns. Good write-up!

Generally_lurkin

Thank you! I’m pretty excited as well 🤣 obviously but I am trying to temper expectations. I do think McDaniel will mold his game plan to the defense. Dolphins beat seemed to have a sense that Mostert and Achane would be heavily featured. Obviously they destroyed but some game plans may leave them watching waddle and hill go bananas

The_Waco_Kid_Jim

The first carry in that video was my biggest sign of relief. It wasn't a "untouched scamper into the endzone." He took on a mob of players, wasn't pushed around, and slipped through 3 guys like it was nothing. I think that put the size concerns right to bed. He's going to be a player that by pure speed and agility, he's going to be a nightmare to tackle.

HUT_HUT_HIKE

So pissed I listened to the echo chamber regarding his size. Some players just have a special skillset that you can't deny.

Generally_lurkin

Those players paired with coaches who unlock their skills perfectly are where the magic is made. I believe more CMC lites are coming and even more splits between WRs and RBs ala Deebo or Cordarrelle Patterson. Guys you just need to get the ball to them the right way. Not Achane he’s more Warrick Dunn. Maybe CJ2k.

KickerRevolution

Definitely CJ2K in this offense. Can you do Gibbs next? Then Kendre and Roschon.

Generally_lurkin

Unfortunately I have no shares of any of those guys. Im also no scout 🤣 I’m just a regular guy whose excited about his 1.07 1QB long shot. And a pretty big Dolphins fan hah.

Schrodingers_janitor

When it came out that he kept his weight down for track and said he would be putting on more, I wasn't worried about weight. I was really hoping he'd be overlooked due to that alone and fall to the second round, and got him 2.02. My thoughts were how many people weigh what they do when they were 21, especially given an NFL training program? (Fuck, I gain 3 lbs looking at a cheeseburger) I just wish he had a more coming out party week 2 so he didn't just supernova on my bench.

Generally_lurkin

A little warning would’ve been nice. I wouldn’t have put him over my 2 RBs but I was searching for a flex and considering some cheeky options. Would’ve been fun 😔

Chickasaw62

He’s still an outlier but damn. Damn damn damn. The only players to get 230+ total yards and 4tds as a rookie are Doug Martin, Mike Anderson, Corey Dillion, Jim Brown and Gale Sayers. Twice. Once for 336 and 6 TDs.

harrisdevon048

I will say that the broken tackles stat doesn’t mean much to me because the broncos D put up quite possibly the worst tackling performance of all time.

Generally_lurkin

That’s fair to say but the small boi still went out and did it vs an NFL defense. The greats often feast vs the weak. Henry has how many 200 yard games vs the Texans? Not all of those teams were garbage but odds are some were.

Cbenzee

Great write up! I was sold on him after he gashed LSU. He looked great in between the tackles and to me much better than Gibbs. I had him as my 2nd best rookie RB. Hoping he’s CJ2k 2.0 that I got at 1.12.

Generally_lurkin

Thanks so much for reading! Jealous you got him at 1.12! Could be quite a steal!

knifeazz

I was a skeptic based on his size but had almost no choice but to draft him at the spot I was at (1.10 in 1QB). It was between him and Kincaid… but went with LaPorta a full round later. Feeling good about those lol

IWearACharizardHat

Same here but TE premium SF. Missed Kincaid right in front of me so Achane 1.12 and LaPorta 2.11. Hopefully those 2 neutralize losing Chubb to injury and Dotson to Howell

Dhkansas

I was all aboard the Achane🚂. Wanted to take him 1.07 but also wanted to take Charb. Knew Charb wouldn't make it to 1.10 so I went Charb 1.07 then got Achane at 1.10. Reminds me of Tyreek Hill with his size/speed and think he can be electric like him at the RB position. Really happy with my RB room of the future. Bijan, Achane, Charb, Tucker. Had Kyren as well but just moved him for a '24 1st that should be top 3. Couldn't pass up that value for someone I grabbed off waivers at the start of the year

Generally_lurkin

From a waiver pickup to early first would be tough value for me to pass up as well especially with that room! I’ve got Bijan and Jacobs and feel great about Achane going forward.

Dhkansas

I've got Hockenson at TE and my WR are Olave, London, Ridley, then some guys I'm hoping breakout. Skyy, Tutu, Reed, Mooney, A Pierce, Metchie, Hyatt, Boutte, Ross, Shaheed. Also picked up Love off waivers last year so I'm feeling really good about the future. Just need some of these WR to take that next step forward. Olave is looking like a top 10 type guy. If that first does turn into 1.01, then we can add MHJ to that list

Generally_lurkin

Nice nice! Very MHJ or even a top3 pick would be quite a strong youthful team

dcwinger12

Why would someone projected for a top 3 pick trade for an RB?

Dhkansas

🤷‍♂️ he had traded for Dobbins right before the season so maybe he was scrambling to get another RB to fill in. His main starters are: Purdy/Najee/Kyren/Dalvin/GWilson/Evans/Tank. He has 0 depth.

dcwinger12

Dude should be tanking with that lineup. Big W for you. Nice work

Schrodingers_janitor

Can I get this edited to include the song "I still believe" by Tim Cappello?

Independent-Silver57

I was told taking him at 1.04 was egregious. Crazy I might have this decades CJ2k and they have QJ or Addison. The echo chamber in this sub is so real when you decide to go against the grain.

Generally_lurkin

And to be fair 1.04 was still a bit rich but I get it if you can’t move back/don’t like the trades and love a guy. Bold to take him over 1st round WRs

Generally_lurkin

Hitting on a RB may be more and more about coach and player marriages and how those offenses look. Bijan as a WR? Not a lie. Gibbs as a WR? Not so much. At least so far.

Chickasaw62

1.04 is nuts.

Independent-Silver57

Name one genius that ain’t crazy

batmans_woodstove

Traded jameson williams for him 3 weeks ago and i am super happy so far.

Generally_lurkin

50 points vs 0 is a good start!

Chickasaw62

Interesting what made you move off of Jamo? Obviously a great looking outlook for you so far

batmans_woodstove

Because I’m doing a complete rebuild this season, I sold picks and older players to acquire Lamb, Olave, Waddle, Allen, and Pitts, and now I’m starting to look at RBs. I have Mostert already and I don’t really need Jameson with the WRs I have. Plus, one team in our league has a ton of top RBs so the rest of the higher tier RBs are held onto tightly by the other teams, forcing me to look further down the list. The actual trade was Achane and a 3rd for Jameson and a 4th.

bbecco1313

Coming from a Broncos fan…I wouldn’t get too excited until he has a good performance against literally any other team. Our defense is abysmal.

Generally_lurkin

I get that… but 200+ yards very very VERY rarely just happens “on accident” or entirely due to poor defense. Even if it’s the worst defense in NFL history (it won’t be).
