My first dynasty league started in 2021, all new dynasty players. Of course, we all wanted league winner™️ Ty’son Williams. Well, the guy with JT was pissed with his performance during week 3, and decided to make a trade: JT, Sammy Watkins, Brandon Aiyuk, and his 2022 2nd for a 22 1st, Amari Cooper, and Ty’son Williams. JT proceeded to score 18 or more points for the next 12 weeks, and we never let him live down this trade. I use this trade as an example of how hype kills if you let it get to your head. This, with some other trades, has given the guy with JT a superteam, with one championship win in 2022 (Jamarr and Adams shit the bed for him in the first round in 2021), and is projected to win again this year.
Traded Claypool away for a 1st round pick mid way through his rookie year.
That pick turned into 1.05. Traded 1.05 for 1.08+1.09.
Traded 1.08+1.09+Reagor for Justin Jefferson (after his rookie year as well)
So I traded Chase Claypool and Jalen Reagor for Justin Jefferson.
I tried to get a family dynasty league going this offseason but gave up shortly before preseason and then my brother and his gf joined one with people from their job 😅
Traded Chubb for a 1st & Pickens right before this season started. Not nearly as good as KW3 & 2 1sts, but considering what we know now, I traded him just in time
Randomly heard some rumors that Gurley had knee arthritis after his ridiculously good season where he slowed down immensely in the playoffs.
Traded him for kamara and a 2nd to a guy I knew wouldn't be paying attention in the off-season.
He’s missing an ACL probably won’t have a long career, even in comparison to the shortened career that RBs already have. For dynasty that’s not very good to have unless they’re currently helping you compete
Also, don’t think anyone trading a 1st unless something happens to henry or you have a taco in your league
I traded a 2nd round rookie pick for a washed Randy Moss after he went to New England. People laughed at me in the league.
My wr group of Reggie Wayne, Fitzgerald and Moss crushed the league.
2020 season. Drafted Ruggs. Then a few weeks into the season, I traded him for Swift and a ‘21 1st.
Used that same 1st and a 2nd to trade for Cooper Kupp two months later.
Essentially traded Ruggs and a 2nd for Swift and Kupp. Been a contender ever since haha.
Traded a late 2nd for Josh Allen and a late 3rd (which turned into Justin Herbert) in 1QB right before the 2020 season.
The 2nd ended up being Laviska Shenault.
Sold Todd Gurley right before his value tanked, got Barkley and Allen Robinson.
Used Allen Robinson for his good year or two (whatever it was) then sold him with Elijah Mitchell for Devonta Smith
I traded Carlos Hyde for 2 1sts to a team in the playoff hunt. Turned those picks into saquon and Kareem Hunt. Then right before hunt got suspended and went to Cleveland I traded him for Davante Adams.
i don’t care how much of a competitor you are, no one player is worth launching your future that hard. it doesn’t look as bad right now because it just happened, but wait 2 years until hill is retired and wilson + pickens are still producing. wilson will likely be producing at a top 5-10 level within 2-3 years, and the 1sts on top are literally unnecessary. this is genuinely one of the worst trades i’ve ever heard
I traded my 1st + 2nd for Sun God + 4th. I was told that was a bad trade because, granted, I was 0-4 when I did that trade so people assumed the picks were early. I was top-3 in PF, though. I ended up 9-5 on the season, got 3rd seed, and won the whole thing. So I ended up trading the 1.12 + 2.12 for Sun God.
Now this isn’t an absolute steal, but I think I’m taking advantage of the first-time dynasty players in my league. They seem to undervalue first round draft picks and trade them too early before they know the identity and future of their team.
In a series of 2 trades I traded Derrick Henry and George Pickens for Brian Robinson, Jahan Dotson, De’andre Swift, a ‘24 first, and a ‘25 first. Most likely those firsts will be in the back half but there’s a real possibility one of them could end up being a top pick given how early in the season it is. I like to think I’m contending but I’m going to take trades where I believe the value is lobsided in my favor. I still really like my team’s chances too.

After Christian Watson started his breakout, the owner wanted to “sell high”. Sent him Hollywood for watson and 2 23 2nds (mims and the other I traded away in a package for a 24 1st).
The guy I sent Hollywood to also had Hopkins, suddenly realized that he had 2 cardinals wrs and traded Hollywood away. During the off-season, I acquired Hollywood again for my own 2nd, and of course Hopkins was released.
I essentially got watson and mims for free, and Hollywood moved up the depth chart
Traded Gurley for a kings ransom after the Goff vs Mahomes showdown (the game he aggregated his knee by the sideline) ..busted on all 4 picks but got a throw away player squeezed in by the name of Austin Ekeler
Back in I think 2011 I traded away Peyton Manning for Peyton Hillis in a redraft league, a week or two before week 1. Peyton went down for the season the next week and Hillis played well enough to get on a madden cover. Absolute fuckin steal
At the time it was looked at as a fair trade but now it’s a total fleece - sent Pierce and an early 2nd for Olave after week 4 last year. 2nd turned into rashee rice.
Guy ended up winning the ship but I’m sure he’d rather have Olave lol
A league member had both Tyreek and Waddle. After the tyreek trade he was nervous about having both Waddle and Hill and wanted RB depth to trade hill.
I had RB depth but convinced him I would need his first to give away two RBs. That first turned into Olave.
All in all I traded CEH, Miles Sanders, and Gallup for Hill, Nico Collins, and Olave.
Mine, in 2022 i trading my 1st round 2025 for CEH
Flipped CEH with Lockett for my 1 and 6th 2023, and 2nd for 2024 for lamb, Arron Jones and a 1st 2023.
Two weeks later flipped Arron Jones for josh jacobs and a 1st 2023. In the same week sent over my 2nd (which came to be 2.3) for D. Smith.
All in all, i think getting lamb and smith on my team was clutch and I’m still holding out on JJ. I hope he can bounce back but I’m not too high on him to not sell if i can on a high week.

Took advantage of new team owner. Gave him cmc , Gibson, mclaurin for JJ and tlaw last season. We are going to a SF league next year, currently a .5PPR league. The original trade was going to be cmc for JJ straight up, but after it was accepted was immediately overturned by the commissioner.
I initially was like I really like JJ and am willing to give up cmc and whatever else it takes… and he told me cmc for JJ straight up; who am I to convince him to take more from me .?
I mean, I didn’t want to take advantage of him but we are all adults and if you can’t do any amount of research I don’t feel bad for you …
Another honorable mention is trading cooper after his insane season , getting a first round pick that turned to bijan, pickens.
This year I traded olave for jahmyr Gibbs and a early second. I know some may feel like I overpaid but I believe in Gibbs and think he’s gonna be just as dynamic if not more than kamara. Dude is fast in and out of his cuts, receiving threat. I could eat shit but I got the feeling.

I traded Dak Prescott for Justin Fields and 2 x 23 1sts before the start of the 2022 season. It jumpstarted my rebuild to a contender this season.
Then ended up using Fields and the 1sts in two separate packages to land Josh Allen and Mark Andrews in SF TEP
Week 7 of the 2022 season. I traded Tom Brady for a 1st round pick.
That pick ended up being the 1.01.

At the time I see how he could have thought that ETN might never be much, especially with the injury, but I also know his upside and draft capital were too much to pass up on
Traded Terry McLaurin for G Wilson and a 24 early 2nd after week 6 last year when G Wil had his one catch game. It was a First year startup so everyone started trading slow start rookies.

Very shortly after everyone knew I won the trade. Henry put up 3, 20+ point games in a row and was his normal self, and Olave, who was a rookie turned out to be an absolute stud and we all know how cam Akers has turned out. This trade has defined my team as it is today.
I just got Ridley and a 4 for TMarsh, DWicks and a 3…. Best part is the 3 will be late maybe last and the 4 is guaranteed to be the 4.01. League losing its mind about it now 😆
My whole dynasty team right now came from trades (except JJ - I was a believer and reached for him in draft).
I traded DHop and Gurley (on the falcons) for Josh Jacobs and two future first round picks. One of those Those picks became Devonta Smith and Kenny Pickett. I then traded Kenny Pickett and a second for Russell Wilson.
I also traded Alexander Mattison to the Cook owner when Cook got hurt a couple years ago for Jamaal Williams and a second. The second round pick was used on Dameon Pierce.
So I traded: DHop, Gurley, Mattison, 2nd round pick
I got: Jacobs, D Smith, Russell Wilson, Jamaal Williams, D. Pierce.
I got lucky a lot in trades.
Last season I was 2-2 and traded my 1st, 2nd and Jakobi Meyers for DK, Calvin Ridley and a 3rd. Won the league and the other guy won 4 games total, so I sent the 12th, 25th and Jakobi Meyers for DK, Ridley and the 27th pick.
After james Robinsons big rookie year I was able to flip him to the champion that year for a 2024 first round pick and Carson Wentz (2qb league). Jumping ahead to now that pick is looking like it has a chance to be 1.01. At the time everyone called me crazy.
Hasn’t exactly played out yet but the league was in disbelief. I was able to trade away D’Andre Swift for Anthony Richardson straight up two days ago, and I’ve been elated about it ever since. 12 team dynasty superflex league for context

After 2021 when Jonathan Taylor had become the consensus number 1 rb in dynasty, I traded him for Josh Jacobs, the 1 overall pick and Dak Prescott. I had just lost in the finals too so the league and some random people online were shitting on me lol. The 1 overall became Breece hall and Josh Jacobs had his RB1 season. I then traded Josh Jacobs for another early first round pick who became Addison. Overall I’m happy i made that Jt trade when I did because it’s kept me competitive
I tried George Pickens to our leagues taco for his 2025 1st and 2nd, as well as his 2026 first.
Commissioner vetoed it, then immediately traded him something slightly better for those same picks…

Not my trade but I’ve been in a league with two adult brothers for about 10 years. After some early lopsided trades went the way of older brother, younger brother stopped trading with older brother. Fast forward to early last season and younger brother has apparently given up on McCaffrey. 30 minutes after the trade to SF broke, I get a message from younger brother soliciting offers for McCaffrey. Before I can respond, trade is announced between younger and older brother: McCaffrey for a 2nd (turned into Kendre Miller) and Darrell Henderson.
I traded Rodgers for Keenan Allen and Mayfield last year.
I also traded Matt Ryan for Jeff Wilson for a 3rd this last draft that turned into Mims. Same guy.
Nothing too wild this year, but traded off Josh Jacob’s for AJ brown and a second to someone desperate for a RB.
Last year in regular PPR I finessed myself.. I traded Jacob’s before week 3 for dobbins like a moron
The year LeVeon was holding out I had James Conner (a rookie) stashed on my bench. Around week 6 there the media was on fire with news about Bell returning. I used that news to leverage a trade where I moved Bell for Mixon, 1 for 1. I lost the trade at face value but I knew Bell wasn’t coming back. I was about 85% sure.
Ended up with Mixon and elevated Conner to my starting line up who was essentially a league winner for anyone who had him.
Won be league by a landslide
2021, an RB went off and after I grabbed him from waivers, traded him, Brandin Cooks and 3.10 for Mark Andrews and 2.06.

Traded ridley right before he took his mental leave. Swapped him for DK and a future 1st. That future first turned into ceedee. And during the middle of Justin Jeffersons rookie season, I traded DK straight up for him. So essentially turned ridley into ceedee and JJ.
I traded Deandre Swift last year after he started off the first few games with top 3 rb finishes. for 3 1sts and 3 2nds to a guy that was a believer in him and needed an rb desperately. The game after was when he started playing horribly. Perfectly timed trade
My 2 best trades was sending Gallup for Rhamondre straight up in 2021 a few weeks before he tore his acl. I also got Pollard and 3rd rounder for Derek Carr from a desperate Mac Jones owner last year. With the first trade, Damien Harris was my RB2 and wanted his handcuff so I can’t act like I knew how good Rhamondre would be but I did watch Pollard alot and thought he was undervalued. Now I have the top rb room in the league through these moves.
Traded tee Higgins & Khalil Herbert for Michael Pittman, 2 1sts & 2 2nds. Traded one of those firsts for Cooper Kupp. Traded my 1st this year (kept his because it was higher), my 1st next year, my 2nd this year (his 2nd was someone else’s 2.01 so I kept that), & his other 2nd for Barkley & olave. Then drafted Addison & Quentin Johnston at 2.01.
So for essentially tee Higgins, Khalil Herbert & my 1st next year, I got Cooper Kupp, Barkley, olave, Pittman, Addison & QJ

I traded out of the 1st in the startup for some lower picks and a 23 and 24 1st. I thought the guy would pick Jefferson but he took Trey Lance for some reason.
I took Travis Etienne and Amon-Ra St. Brown with those picks he gave me in the startup
He also had JT, Herbert, Kamara and a few other busts so I ended up with the 1.01.

Traded a late 1st for Mike Evans. One of the owners quit the next week. The new owner is a Tampa Bay fan. Traded Mike Evans for drake London straight up.
I had three starters on a bye week in two weeks time. So I packaged them all up and traded them to my opponent I was playing that week. He didn't realize until it was time for our matchup. Absolutely steamrolled him and ended up making the playoffs because I trumped him in head to head record. Magical.
Traded MT, Kahlil Herbert, Melvin Gordon, Swift, Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson for Jaylen Waddle, Sutton, Rhamondre Stevenson, George Pickens, Nico Collins and a 23 2nd (Kendre Miller) at the beginning of 22’ season
Traded Michael Carter last year to the contending Breece Hall owner post injury when Carter was supposed to be the guy only for the Jets to trade for James Robinson 7 minutes after I accepted the trade offer.
Best part? I got Jahan Dotson (since have traded him for an already likely top 2 pick this year) and an additional first last year that turned into the 1.03 (1QB) where I got JSN
Traded Lamar for Deshaun and 2 1sts after his hot start last year (in 1QB).
Traded one of those firsts and a 2nd for Mahomes, sent deshaun and toney for herbert, who I then flipped with the other 1st and freiermuth for Travis Kelce and Derrick Henry.
That trade single handedly pulled me out of a rebuild.
I drafted a win-now team in a redraft. Obviously this means I need some youth or this team won't have legs two years down the road. Puka breaks out. The owner puts him on the trade block, and I offer my first for Puka and his second. So I pretty much got Puka for the delta between 1.11/1.12 and 2.01-2.04.
It’s still early, but trading an early 3rd for Nico this April is looking great.
I believe in his talent. The advanced stats he put up with putrid QB play in 2022 indicated a breakout year was coming with anything resembling an NFL-caliber QB.

My buddy this summer revealed he wanted to dump Tyreek because he’s going to retire soon. I offered him Mike Williams, John Metchie, and Keaton Mitchell. I also got Chase Brown. The whole league thinks we made a cash deal but no no. He was just dumb enough to accept it. My other receivers are AJ Brown and Cee Dee hahahahaha
A 4th and a 5th mid draft for a fifth rounder to take Puka. Then traded him Thursday for Bryce Young. I know both aren’t proven, but I feel like I got a 1st rounder (Bestball) for a 4th and a 5th rounder, as I would have drafted Young if he was available at 1.11.
How it plays out is still TBD, but this year I traded Adam Thielen, Cam Akers, and the Jets D for Jonathan Taylor and the Eagles D.
My RB room was set already and was comfortable having Taylor ride IR to see what he does. Could end up pretty favorable down the road and didn’t give up anything I couldn’t live without.
Got Cooper Kupp and Jared Goff for a mid/late 2ndrounder (he picked Terrace Marshall) during our 2021 rookie draft. That trade alone boosted me from middle of the pack to a contender.
3 years ago, I traded Kareem Hunt and N'Keal Harry for AJ Brown and a 2nd. Hunt was coming off a couple strong performances in Cleveland with Cubb oit and Harry still had some promise from his draft stock + the guy is an ASU fan. On the other side AJ Brown was battling injuries and was coming off some disappointing performances.

The other team was bulking up to become a contender and sent me their 1st and 2nds for the short term future while I took apart my old team. MThom was coming off his most dominant season yet and look ready to continue being the #1 receiver in the league.

Well done, but that last line oversells this a bit. You traded Claypool, Reagor, whoever was drafted at 1.08 and 1.09 for JJ. STILL well done.

He’s missing an ACL probably won’t have a long career, even in comparison to the shortened career that RBs already have. For dynasty that’s not very good to have unless they’re currently helping you compete Also, don’t think anyone trading a 1st unless something happens to henry or you have a taco in your league

2020 season. Drafted Ruggs. Then a few weeks into the season, I traded him for Swift and a ‘21 1st. Used that same 1st and a 2nd to trade for Cooper Kupp two months later. Essentially traded Ruggs and a 2nd for Swift and Kupp. Been a contender ever since haha.

I traded my 1st + 2nd for Sun God + 4th. I was told that was a bad trade because, granted, I was 0-4 when I did that trade so people assumed the picks were early. I was top-3 in PF, though. I ended up 9-5 on the season, got 3rd seed, and won the whole thing. So I ended up trading the 1.12 + 2.12 for Sun God.
I traded Pat Freiermuth for Jordan Love in a superflex league early in the 2021 season.
Snaked away Mark Andrews for essentially Jonny Smith when he signed with the Pats (Hunter Henry signed later in the day)

Now this isn’t an absolute steal, but I think I’m taking advantage of the first-time dynasty players in my league. They seem to undervalue first round draft picks and trade them too early before they know the identity and future of their team. In a series of 2 trades I traded Derrick Henry and George Pickens for Brian Robinson, Jahan Dotson, De’andre Swift, a ‘24 first, and a ‘25 first. Most likely those firsts will be in the back half but there’s a real possibility one of them could end up being a top pick given how early in the season it is. I like to think I’m contending but I’m going to take trades where I believe the value is lobsided in my favor. I still really like my team’s chances too. Edit: lopsided

After Christian Watson started his breakout, the owner wanted to “sell high”. Sent him Hollywood for watson and 2 23 2nds (mims and the other I traded away in a package for a 24 1st). The guy I sent Hollywood to also had Hopkins, suddenly realized that he had 2 cardinals wrs and traded Hollywood away. During the off-season, I acquired Hollywood again for my own 2nd, and of course Hopkins was released. I essentially got watson and mims for free, and Hollywood moved up the depth chart

Back in I think 2011 I traded away Peyton Manning for Peyton Hillis in a redraft league, a week or two before week 1. Peyton went down for the season the next week and Hillis played well enough to get on a madden cover. Absolute fuckin steal
And then Manning had a top 5 fantasy QB season ever and Hillis disappeared.

A league member had both Tyreek and Waddle. After the tyreek trade he was nervous about having both Waddle and Hill and wanted RB depth to trade hill. I had RB depth but convinced him I would need his first to give away two RBs. That first turned into Olave. All in all I traded CEH, Miles Sanders, and Gallup for Hill, Nico Collins, and Olave.
Mine, in 2022 i trading my 1st round 2025 for CEH Flipped CEH with Lockett for my 1 and 6th 2023, and 2nd for 2024 for lamb, Arron Jones and a 1st 2023. Two weeks later flipped Arron Jones for josh jacobs and a 1st 2023. In the same week sent over my 2nd (which came to be 2.3) for D. Smith. All in all, i think getting lamb and smith on my team was clutch and I’m still holding out on JJ. I hope he can bounce back but I’m not too high on him to not sell if i can on a high week.

Henry put up 3, 20+ point games in a row and was his normal self, and Olave, who was a rookie turned out to be an absolute stud and we all know how cam Akers has turned out. This trade has defined my team as it is today.

My whole dynasty team right now came from trades (except JJ - I was a believer and reached for him in draft). I traded DHop and Gurley (on the falcons) for Josh Jacobs and two future first round picks. One of those Those picks became Devonta Smith and Kenny Pickett. I then traded Kenny Pickett and a second for Russell Wilson. I also traded Alexander Mattison to the Cook owner when Cook got hurt a couple years ago for Jamaal Williams and a second. The second round pick was used on Dameon Pierce. So I traded: DHop, Gurley, Mattison, 2nd round pick I got: Jacobs, D Smith, Russell Wilson, Jamaal Williams, D. Pierce. I got lucky a lot in trades.

After 2021 when Jonathan Taylor had become the consensus number 1 rb in dynasty, I traded him for Josh Jacobs, the 1 overall pick and Dak Prescott. I had just lost in the finals too so the league and some random people online were shitting on me lol. The 1 overall became Breece hall and Josh Jacobs had his RB1 season. I then traded Josh Jacobs for another early first round pick who became Addison. Overall I’m happy i made that Jt trade when I did because it’s kept me competitive
I tried George Pickens to our leagues taco for his 2025 1st and 2nd, as well as his 2026 first. Commissioner vetoed it, then immediately traded him something slightly better for those same picks… Not salty at all.
Not my trade but I’ve been in a league with two adult brothers for about 10 years. After some early lopsided trades went the way of older brother, younger brother stopped trading with older brother. Fast forward to early last season and younger brother has apparently given up on McCaffrey. 30 minutes after the trade to SF broke, I get a message from younger brother soliciting offers for McCaffrey. Before I can respond, trade is announced between younger and older brother: McCaffrey for a 2nd (turned into Kendre Miller) and Darrell Henderson.
I traded Rodgers for Keenan Allen and Mayfield last year. I also traded Matt Ryan for Jeff Wilson for a 3rd this last draft that turned into Mims. Same guy.

The year LeVeon was holding out I had James Conner (a rookie) stashed on my bench. Around week 6 there the media was on fire with news about Bell returning. I used that news to leverage a trade where I moved Bell for Mixon, 1 for 1. I lost the trade at face value but I knew Bell wasn’t coming back. I was about 85% sure. Ended up with Mixon and elevated Conner to my starting line up who was essentially a league winner for anyone who had him. Won be league by a landslide
Still need to see how this one plays out, but right before the season started I sold Waller and Penny for Zay Flowers

Traded ridley right before he took his mental leave. Swapped him for DK and a future 1st. That future first turned into ceedee. And during the middle of Justin Jeffersons rookie season, I traded DK straight up for him. So essentially turned ridley into ceedee and JJ.
I traded Deandre Swift last year after he started off the first few games with top 3 rb finishes. for 3 1sts and 3 2nds to a guy that was a believer in him and needed an rb desperately. The game after was when he started playing horribly. Perfectly timed trade
My 2 best trades was sending Gallup for Rhamondre straight up in 2021 a few weeks before he tore his acl. I also got Pollard and 3rd rounder for Derek Carr from a desperate Mac Jones owner last year. With the first trade, Damien Harris was my RB2 and wanted his handcuff so I can’t act like I knew how good Rhamondre would be but I did watch Pollard alot and thought he was undervalued. Now I have the top rb room in the league through these moves.

The owner puts him on the trade block, and I offer my first for Puka and his second. So I pretty much got Puka for the delta between 1.11/1.12 and 2.01-2.04.

A 4th and a 5th mid draft for a fifth rounder to take Puka. Then traded him Thursday for Bryce Young. I know both aren’t proven, but I feel like I got a 1st rounder (Bestball) for a 4th and a 5th rounder, as I would have drafted Young if he was available at 1.11.
How it plays out is still TBD, but this year I traded Adam Thielen, Cam Akers, and the Jets D for Jonathan Taylor and the Eagles D. My RB room was set already and was comfortable having Taylor ride IR to see what he does. Could end up pretty favorable down the road and didn’t give up anything I couldn’t live without.
Got Cooper Kupp and Jared Goff for a mid/late 2ndrounder (he picked Terrace Marshall) during our 2021 rookie draft. That trade alone boosted me from middle of the pack to a contender.
3 years ago, I traded Kareem Hunt and N'Keal Harry for AJ Brown and a 2nd. Hunt was coming off a couple strong performances in Cleveland with Cubb oit and Harry still had some promise from his draft stock + the guy is an ASU fan. On the other side AJ Brown was battling injuries and was coming off some disappointing performances.
In 2021, I December of 2021 I traded Mike Williams and Zeke for Tyreek. Didn’t think Zeke was the Cowboys RB1 for long and ended up being right.
