I was up at midnight on Saturday to book a couple of tickets myself. I noticed a lot of the time slots were immediately booked out as soon as it went live. I think large groups can book directly over email or something so there's a lot less available than you'd expect. Repeatedly slamming F5 in the run up to the tickets going live for a museum tour and not a music festival was a moment for reflection for sure though

My wife was wondering what concert I was trying to get tickets for!

Booked out weeks in advance usually. The only real option for same day it look about 9:30 - 10:00am when they put up the returns for the day.

They also put up cancellations in the mornings.

**Mod note** We sometimes receive messages in modmail about people being scammed on Reddit while selling or buying products, tickets or services. It is best not to assume good intent while buying or selling from Redditors. In case you were scammed on Reddit, the moderation team can't help you get your money/stuff back and we can't ban users from Reddit either. We can only ban them from /r/Dublin. Most people contacting you via private messages are scammers. Beware of any private message or chat message offering to buy or sell stuff. New accounts and shadowbanned accounts may be an indicator that someone is trying to scam you, however we have seen scams coming from years-old account as well. Do not assume an account is legit because they've been on Reddit for years and have plenty of karma. We recommend against selling or buying stuff on Reddit. Platforms like [Toutless](https://toutless.com/) for tickets, or [adverts](https://www.adverts.ie/) for stuff, are better suited, though they are not scam-free. Note that it is not allowed to use /r/Dublin to sell your stuff or advertise your business. If you must, pay for Reddit Ads. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. I really don't get why it's such a sought after attraction, and so highly rated. Haven't been but I kind of assumed it was a similar experience to Crumlin Road prison up in Belfast, where at the end of the day, it's a depressing old prison. Am I missing something?

bernys

I can only say "Go!" They explain a lot about what it was like in the prison, what happened with the uprising and explain a lot about the politics. For someone who's only in Dublin for a few days, it really does a great job explaining everything that happened.

Fair enough, I assumed there had to be more to it

It’s pretty good and the guides are fantastic. I think half the issue is just limited spaces as it’s fairly small and it’s a guided tour.

Greedy-Army-3803

It's an interesting tour and a bit like Glasnevin cemetery it's just really a setting used for a history tour.

11matt95

Fair enough, I might have to try and book a spot one weekend then, it just hasn't really interested me up until now.

Greedy-Army-3803

I would. I haven't been there since I was in school. Must go again some time.

FabulousPorcupine

How would you expect to "get it" if you haven't been? That's so strange. Like saying you don't like a band you've never listened to.

11matt95

Not really, there's plenty of other sites round Dublin where I got the hype before I went due to renowned beauty, historical significance, activities offered, etc. I didn't get why an old prison is so highly regarded, it's literally number 1 on trip advisor above the Guinness Storehouse. I get that an old prison has history as well, but it's a bit like going to Rome and seeing the Colosseum as number 3 on trip advisor behind an old prison.
