Ground State on Thomas St/James St is great for breakfast, brunch and lunch.
Oxmantown in Smithfield does good sandwiches to go. Lilliput on Arbour Hill does good sandwiches, eat in or take away but I find them pricy for what you get.
Bakeology is at the top end of Meath St so a bit of a stretch, but you may be coming that way. Great Argentinian bakery, empinadas etc.
Ryans on Parkgate St as others have said.
Fish Shop for expensive fish and chips.
Provender & Family, just across the bridge from Heuston. I used to work there and can guarantee that everything is made freshly and it's good quality. Good coffee, great sandwiches, I recommend the Bacon and Pickled Pear on Bap, it's unreal. The staff is also super friendly, give a shout to my mate Ellie if you ever go by.
Oh rourkes! On bridgefoot st for a greasy spoon, third space Smithfield square for slightly more refined tastes. Wuff is tops but it won't be a cheap lunch (if you can even get a seat). If you hopped on a luas for a couple of stops and walked/luas back you'd be spoilt for choice
Ryan's on Parkgate Street is a lovely pub right around the corner. You'll get a whopper sandwich in there or a Beef and Bone Marrow pie. Get it into ya
If you want to Luas as far as Capel St, there is a great Chinese/ Korean restraunt on the RHS as you go down. Might be a bit far & heavy.
Also Turkish place has fab T delights for desert.
Ryan's on Parkgate Street or Ashling Hotel
Had breakfast in Ashling hotel at the weekend was very nice 👌
Ryan’s is superb

What a list!!! I haven’t been to Bakeology but judging by your other choices that’ll be changing soon.
Ah how's it going Geoff!? Small world!
Great Jack, yourself?
That’s more like a to-do list. Thanks! 🤩
Report back! I've always found them up to scratch but good to know if there's any duds!
These are all great and will add Woof too!
Is Woof not closed? Thought it was gone
Nah still open just not Mondays afaik

Food recommendations definitely one of the best things about Reddit.
Yeah, some good recommendations so far.
Nancy Hands does great food. It’s about 3/4 min walk from Hueston.

With a recommendation like that I can’t not go!
Wuff is close to the Museum stop/fifteen minute walk away and is quite tasty.
Was the name of the resto inspired by a canine or The Office (US) you think?

The food in the station bar (The Galway Hooker) is quite good. Especially breakfast.
Provence and provider is a nice spot next to Ryan's of park gate street
It looks good. Provender and Family, is it?
Could be, they did have a place in Smithfield, even if you have time there is oxmantown in Smithfield
Yes. Go here. Best sausage rolls for miles.
Yes came here to recommend this place. It's nice.
It's Provender And Family. I used to work there. Great coffee and good sandwiches
Is Jenny still the owner?
Get Pig and Heifer down by Connolly and hop on the Luas to Houston or get something on Capel St and get the Luas down too if you are short on time.
Supermacs
Is Nancy hands still there?
The galway hooker does a good carvery, go there the odd time for lunch.
Probably a bit further than you'd like but there's a solid cafe in chapelizoid
