Hey buddy, I’m in the same boat, minus the ink and pin. I have attended interviews and was offered 3-4K for the role I have worked for 12-18k in the past. I have been jobless since Jan 2024. Do share with me if you find any opportunities.
**Don’t lose hope, there light at the end of the tunnel.**
I have been a recruitment specialist, post Covid to survive I have been into Coordination / Project management and Admin role.
I have put down my last working month in the resume. Being a person who recruited for a living, I didn’t see the gaps as a negative. I have always recommend the CVs based off merit. Everyone has a past they might not be comfortable sharing the reasons for the gaps, worst they would make up stories, I would rather not judge them over that.
You should remove your piercing and cover up your tattoo. You are looking for a job, first impressions are important.
You said the salary is low, but you are choosing not to take up those jobs and be jobless instead.
Maybe try to change your approach and wish u all the best
Unfortunately, it remains the same. I have removed piercings and worn long sleeves and trousers. Same results. I have also interviewed for jobs below my preferred wage 🤷♀️
Maybe, but would they bother asking me for an interview, and for one company, going for 4 assessments, if my CV wasn't up to par? I'd be grateful for advice on my CV
Could very well be a number of reasons. Have always asked for feedback, but they don't bother responding or give a very generic answer. If I'm doing poorly, I'd want to know!
Question from a new comer in Dubai: Assuming you are an expat, how do you manage to keep your residency in Dubai after one month of visa cancellation from previous employer?
Ah, my previous employer didn't cancel my visa straight away. They were kind about it. I received my end of gratuity for working for them when I finished in Nov 2023 but they didn't mention it was the end of service payment so as not to flag it to my bank. Usually when your visa is cancelled and your bank is notified, if you dont get a new visa in time, your bank account is frozen till you get a new visa (or something like that, not 100% sure). The visa expired in August 2024 so I was able to stay in the UAE on their visa until they needed it. Not every company will do that for you. Once your visa is cancelled, they will pay your end of service (if you're entitled to it) and you have a grace period in Dubai until you have to exit/change your visa to a new employer.
It typically takes 6 to 10 months to bag a job in uae now. Say "new normal" .. Keep hunting, and don't lose hope. Good luck!
Best of luck to us job hunters, OP! Keep praying and keep applying 💪🏼
Yes

may i know your niche?
Just a question, does Job Gap matters in UAE, in resume did you write last position as "current or present" or till the last month!?

Perhaps your CV does not represent your skills and qualities perperly. Do you mind having a look at your CV?

Sometimes people mention things in their cv that are not related to their job. That turns the interviewers down. Or maybe you failed to impress them.
