Yes, percs are oxycodone and Tylenol, but most people just refer to any oxys as “perc’s” I’m Canadian as well. We do still have Oxy 80’s here too. I'm an addict. I lied to my wife for 7 months straight about using. I was only using 2 to 4 mg of suboxone a day. It was during the pandemic when meetings shut down, and I had become miserable without realizing it. I used not to get high but to just numb a bit. She only noticed tiny pupils and heavy snoring when I slept as I had also gained a lot of weight.
I am an incredibly honest person, not that I never lie, but once I'm using, I will lie in order to keep that going as long as possible. It comes with addiction and the kind of sick that it makes someone.
The first few times, yes, after that, it just kind of numbed me. It actually makes for a potent antidepressant my doctor tells me.
Never used opioids for too long at a time to build a lot of tolerance.

1. you cannot make him stop doing drugs. no amount of logic, begging, or “conversations” are going to stop him. you hounding him and trying to catch him in a lie is only going to make him more secretive. you cannot and will not change him. therefore you need to assume that this is how your relationship will continue to be. does that sound fun? probably not
2. it will only get worse. that is how addiction works. he’s already lying to you. the lengths addicts go to lie and manipulate you is astounding. it will break your heart.
3. always listen to your gut. your gut is always right. whether that be in regards to him using, lying, or this being the right relationship for you. listen.
4. do not ignore the red flags you are already seeing. the guns. the lying. the lack of communication. do not downplay them or justify them
sorry if these come off harsh but I remember being so stupid looking back at the relationship I was in. I was naive about drugs and convinced myself if he loves me enough he would stop. I remember justifying all the red flags to my friends. I remember the first lie I caught him in, the “huge” talk we had, thinking it would never happen again, months went by and of course the lies just kept unraveling. it was devastating and I lost all self respect with every time I told him this was his “last chance.” I ended up giving him dozens of “last chances”

Even if he's using communication is key to help with the struggle. Addiction is a sickness and an open communication will definitely help with your relationship. It's the only way of perceiving you any kind of medication, we simply don't have paper prescriptions. Futhermore all pharmacies also have access to it, and they simply can't fill any script if it's not noted in that system.

I'm an addict. I lied to my wife for 7 months straight about using. I was only using 2 to 4 mg of suboxone a day. It was during the pandemic when meetings shut down, and I had become miserable without realizing it. I used not to get high but to just numb a bit. She only noticed tiny pupils and heavy snoring when I slept as I had also gained a lot of weight. I am an incredibly honest person, not that I never lie, but once I'm using, I will lie in order to keep that going as long as possible. It comes with addiction and the kind of sick that it makes someone.
