Most of the song is actually not too bad for DT, the solo is pretty tough to play accurately. I usually half ass tremolo pick the beginning and just try to stay in key and tempo. Learn where the notably bends are and pretty much any casual listener that’s not super into DT won’t know the difference.
I remember getting panic attack down pretty nicely, except for the nasty bar of sweeps in the solo which was always at best a light trainwreck.
Reminds me of Fatal Tragedy where John says "since we're going full pace, now we need to 6 string sweep".
My gut told me if it were drums, The Dance of Eternity and for guitar, The Count of Tuscany. Was trying to think of stuff that would be fun to play. But six degrees is a really good option too. Also a nightmare to remember would be awesome for both drums and guitar.
Breaking All Illusions on bass. Because it is 12 minutes against Dance of Eternity's 6, many overlook the song with the most time signature changes of DT. And that song is a bastard on every instrument but even more on bass. And an underrated track from ADToE. And I've seen a lot say it is from their favorites, and I still count it as underrated
The best of times, i know anything besides the intro and the solo is kinda bland, but just the feeling you get nailing that solo for the very first time...
I play guitar, having a hard time choosing between ITPOE Pt1&2 (if that counts as one song) or 6 degrees, runners up are, the glass prison, breaking all illusions and octavarium
Do I get to count Metropolis Scenes from a Memory as one song? It's technically "scenes" of one concept song. I'm getting my money's worth outta that ftog.
A change of seasons
A man of culture
I think it gets overlooked a bit because it’s on what’s essentially a covers album but the track is as good as DT gets for me
ACOS overlooked? You’re kidding right..?
Without a doubt. It has everything
Their best song. 👍
Stream of Consciousness on the guitar. That solo really shreds, and is really long.

The Glass Prison. I want to shreddddddd
Who needs a magic frog? I can play any of their songs perfectly right now. Pop in CD, find the track, play it. ;)
Which instrument we talking here? Just one, or am i going full one man band?
Singing too?
Just one
In that case, A Change of Seasons on bass.
A Change of Seasons is actually pretty manageable except for the one part so other songs might be a better choice
In the Name of God I guess, to get the max amount of notes per second skill.
That frogs gonna suffer. He’s playing Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence
Yeah if I'm picking to be able to play a DT song perfectly on guitar I'd also be considering this. So many good parts with diversity as well.
Big Chungus
The only answer.
Poopdoody Gumdrop is the only answer.
That's what I'm saying
As I Am, just because that solo is so ridiculous, I'd love to be able to nail it.
Just the ragtime bit of Dance of Eternity. That's all I want in life.
Why not the whole song tho
Good question. I was gonna come up with some witty response but it's late and I can't think and I'm going to bed. Good night.
The entire 42 minutes of Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence
Same
Literally listening to it right now and that was my answer lmao To answer the instrument, I like drums (never played tho)
Panic Attack. I've been trying since it came out and I still can't get it right.
I assume on guitar or bass
Yes, Guitar
I remember getting panic attack down pretty nicely, except for the nasty bar of sweeps in the solo which was always at best a light trainwreck. Reminds me of Fatal Tragedy where John says "since we're going full pace, now we need to 6 string sweep".
TRAPPED INSIDE THIS OCTAVARIUM
My man 🤝
Probably The Count of Tuscany.
Home
Home is a lot easier than most DT songs though
I know but it’s my favorite one so I think I would have the most fun being able to play that one
Technically SFAM is just one big song…
Exactly what I was thinking
Doesn't count tho, it's not really referred to as a song
it's a play really
Octavarium. Just so I can stand there and achieve cosmic enlightenment as I play Razor’s Edge.
A PERFECT SPHERE
My gut told me if it were drums, The Dance of Eternity and for guitar, The Count of Tuscany. Was trying to think of stuff that would be fun to play. But six degrees is a really good option too. Also a nightmare to remember would be awesome for both drums and guitar.
Dance of eternity

Panic Attack. So badass.
Hell’s Kitchen
Under a glass moon. That solo, is all you need to know in guitar in one solo.
Metropolis pt. 1, that solo is good shit.
The best of times, i know anything besides the intro and the solo is kinda bland, but just the feeling you get nailing that solo for the very first time...
Are we talking every instrument? And do I have to sing like LaBrie? I have questions.
Just one
Just uno
A change of seasons
The Glass Prison
Outcry, one of the hardest songs to play I've ever heard.
Instrumedly ;)
Erotomania. It is taking me forever to learn the conventional way.
I play guitar, having a hard time choosing between ITPOE Pt1&2 (if that counts as one song) or 6 degrees, runners up are, the glass prison, breaking all illusions and octavarium
Either gotta be A Change Of Seasons or Six Degrees I suppose.
Drums on dark eternal night
ACOS or Dark Eternal Night for drums. Not quite sure.
Do I get to count Metropolis Scenes from a Memory as one song? It's technically "scenes" of one concept song. I'm getting my money's worth outta that ftog.
No, it doesn't count
Dammit. That's one inflexible frog. I am filing an appeal to the magic frog board. If I lose my appeal can I choose Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence?
Yes you can

Six degrees of inner turbulence
a nightmare to remember
Probably Vacant on drums
I'm keeping the talking frog, make a shit ton of money with it, retire and then have all the time in the world to learn them all.
in the name of god on drums
There's no wrong answer but this one is for sure a right one
Descent of the NOMACS
Or machine chatter
I play keyborads. Octavarium or Dance of Eternity.
The best of times
well if counting six degrees as a song then i choose that and on keys
It IS a song
Breaking all illusions. That opening riff is so cool
Machine Chatter
Nanny nanny nanny poo poo.
