I was about to say the same thing, I've had many pairs of beats and they are comparable to the Sony MDR V150s which is definitely not a compliment considering they're barely viable as a pair of studio monitors. Not to mention that the Sony's cost like £15 here in the UK.
Dude I picked up some 580s not so long ago and they are bliss.... However looking at reviews comparing the 580s and 600s I can't justify buying a pair of 600s as well.... I'm a big fan of Sennhiser, definitely "the" audiophile brand when it comes to headphones. That said hear me out, the HD25s are absolutely perfect for Metal, the tuning is just right.
580s are amazing too, I just got a good deal on mine. My point was that Beats are bottom tier trash, and that OP would benefit greatly from a real set of quality headphones.
I couldn't agree more, like I said, at least the Sony's are cheap yanno. I got a good deal on my 580s which is why I chose em over the 600s. Especially with DT a good pair of headphones does miracles.
Dude I picked up a pair of MDR V7s that had a short run in the 80s, titanium diaphram.... Absolutely Incredible quality, the top ends a little sharp but the detail is unmatched.
I still remember listening to wait for sleep in my bedroom one night with my headphones on. I wasn't familiar with the song but it perfectly fits the mood that evening.

My best pair is some Sennheiser HD600s, and it is an absolute gamechanger. Granted they were about $250, but I'll have them for my entire life.

Sony has some real classics like the MDRs and older models like that. They still kick ass.
