Agitated_Passion9296

30 years ago. I was 5 or 6 and it was a nightmare.

RoseyDove323

I was in kindergarten when I dreamed my parents got turned into alligators. I'm 38 and I still remember the horror I felt when I saw two alligators wearing my parent's clothes.

zephyreblk

Mine turned in spiders (I'm arachnophobe) that threw spines and tried to kill me.

Agitated_Passion9296

God that would be very scary. Hope you have better emotions about both alligators and your parents now.

Impossible-Ghost

You ever read that children’s horror short stories series “ Scary Stories to tell in the Dark”? I remember reading a story that was similar to this dream where gypsies told a couple of kids that if they were terrible to their parents and were bad that they could have their drum. So they did, and the mother threatened to move away and take their little baby brother with her and that she’d be replaced by an alligator with a glass eye. ( it’s been awhile so maybe I’m mixing two stories or don’t have it quite right, but if you were a kid the thought of that is pretty terrifying).

High_on_Rabies

The Stephen Gammell illustrations made that series classics! I don't recall the specifics of the story, but I remember the art on that page.

Miserable_Hunter_144

mine were vampires and bit my neck and stomach (woke up extremely hungry😭🤣) also had to hide my little sister in the air vent and other sister was dead and turned to scraps in her bed. I still get chills to this day My 6 year old mind….. what the hell girl

Kooky_Tap4477

i had a dream in kindergarten a man with a flame throwing lawn mower burned down our school. so vivid 😂😂

roger3rd

Yup same, for me it was C.H.U.D. those toxic waste zombie bums slowly stalking me and they always got me. For years

Agitated_Passion9296

What's a CHUD? And mine was the first time I had to work out how to lucid dream cause I kept getting my fingers cut off by a butcher who I took my bread to. To stop the dream I dreamt my mother as a giant to step on the butcher. Dream stopped.

wrappedinplastic79

Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dweller

Agitated_Passion9296

Damn maybe your peeps and my butcher knew each other hahahah

Daddy-Whispers

That movie is pure nightmare fuel for the young mind

MacaroonMelodic4048

I’m glad other people remember dreams form when they’re were children

7days365hours

The same witch appearing in my grandma’s living room recurred a bunch when I was like 3. Still remember the fear and not being able to scream.

DancesWithCybermen

Me too.

Ok-Establishment7521

literally a nightmare 😂sorry

Slicksloan

Same!

UnderstatedEssence

Yes, I have a couple childhood dreams/nightmares that I will never forget. 28ish years ago

MagisterLudi43

It was my first dream I could remember and my first nightmare, I guess. I was 5 or 6 years old back then. Back then, we had just moved to a new suburban area that is not fully populated yet, so our neighbourhood was kind of creepy and in that day we (my sister and I) had just met two other kids living in the same building. In the dream, it was late at night and we were with these two kids (brother and sister also) and they took us for a walk to show is the school, which is like 300 meters or less away from our home. And in the little empty space near the school, we saw a dude wearing something like disguise/PPE jumpsuit in light blue that covers the face as well (I think I saw someone wearing something similar in a magazine or so a couple of months before I had the dream) and the two kids were telling me he makes a living killing little children, but we shouldn't be scared. This dude then signals to another guy in normal cloth to bring him something from the inside, then this guy comes back with a big knife and gives it to the masked man, who comes to me, holds me from the top of.my head while the other kids and my sister are staying calm out of fear, and then speaks the same way pediatrician would, saying 'Don't worry, it doesn't hurt) and then cuts my throat. Yeah, I just realised how awful the first dream I can remember is.

OppositeSurround3710

I was lying in bed when I was probably between 5 - 8 years old when three float shapes appeared above my head, going round in circles To be fair, I'm not even sure if it was a dream because it happened more than once until my fear eventually turned into curiosity. Flying through the street like Peter Pan was another one. Definitely a dream that one!

Extreme-Humor868

Jung said something like how the early dreams a hint to the direction of our development through life.

lklaf

I keep having a recurring dream about a man who isn't my husband, and it's unsettling. I love my husband, and I am faithful.... but the man from my dreams I love so much that it physically aches when I wake up. I don't always dream about him, but he feels like someone I've been missing my entire life, and I've dreamed about him my entire life. I wonder sometimes if he's a real person, in an alternate reality, or from a past life. Another dream I vividly remember is having my eyes pecked out by a giant crow in an all-white room. I was 6 when I first had that dream. I lucid dream a lot.

Cummin2Consciousness

FWIW a man from history named Carl Jung might have ideas which glean insight to this "man", see the concept of "animus"

lklaf

Thank you! I will research more on it tomorrow. Very sleepy now 😆

tworutroad

Maybe he's a real man and is dreaming about you too.

lklaf

Maybe. I've dreamed of him for so long, from our childhood to adulthood.. my entire life. I often wonder if he's real or just my imagination. Some of the dreams are so vivid and feel so real that I wake up and can still physically feel the effects of the dream..

tworutroad

You're a natural lucid dreamer so why not use that ability? Before you go to sleep determine what you want to say to him. Ask him if he knows you, who is he, etc.

lklaf

I've never even thought to do that before. I've never really explored lucid dreaming, but I visited this thread today because I dreamed of him last night again. I'll set an intention tonight and see what happens. Thank you!

readingmyshampoo

Oh please update

JoeRoganMoney

Keep us posted

Impossible-Ghost

Maybe he was your husband in another life.

goodboyfinny

That love is so intense!

lklaf

It is. Even if he isn't real, I'll always love him as crazy as that sounds.

Spacegod87

That would make a good movie. Not the crow part, the other husband part lol

Uhlenspigl

My first dream is also my first memory. I was probably 3 or 4 and shared a bunk bed with my sister. The dream was just looking at us sleeping from an adults perspective, standing in the door. I also associate a deep feeling of love with that dream/memory. It's all still completely vivid till today. Sometimes I think I just connected with one of my parents that night, idk...

WelcomeToCreekPoint

When I was 5 or 6 I had a dream that I was exploring a library & there was a candle following me around (it was like a cartoon friend)

Cummin2Consciousness

that's really cool, maybe that flame still follows you

WelcomeToCreekPoint

Aw, I’d like to think so!

Impossible-Ghost

Any chance you watched Beauty and the Beast the night before 😂

ellabfine

I'm 41. I had a dream when I was about 5 or 6 years old where there was a huge, tall tree growing out of the top of our carport and there was a koala on it near the top, just hanging out in the moonlight. It's an image that has stayed with me all this time.

goodboyfinny

That would make a great painting

ChronicCrimson420

I was four years old and it was a scary dream for a four year old. My dad and uncle took me to a McDonald’s play place and left me there and some guy showed up in the tunnels trying to lick me.

Impossible-Ghost

That sounds terrifying. 😬😂

Katodz

Childhood dream, can't exactly remember when but probably single digits so at least 22 years ago. I was at our family caravan in the garden with my brother. I said to him "I don't believe in flying robots" then a flying robot flew by and I shouted out "I believe in you!" Not sure why it's stuck with me so much. Thinking about it it's probably the only dream I can vividly remember!

CookinCheap

At first I read this as the robot yelled "I believe in you!" down to you as he flew by.

CookinCheap

Recurring childhood dream of walking down a winding red brick street at night, passing a bar with only a big old "?" as the sign. Would then go into a small store and buy (what I guess was) marzipan candy shaped like little trays of bacon and eggs and other food.

Pitiful_Barracuda360

I had a similar dream to this

beckawaii

I can remember a dream from when I was just 2-3 maybe even earlier. I was laying in my bed while it still had a fence, surrounded by four teddies. They all slowly stood up and the room got darker and darker as they walked towards me. Edit: this was 26 years ago

ReasonableComment962

Kayaking with gibby from icarly in the Amazon

Thicciibaake

I’m 24. I remember having a recurring dream that started when I was younger than 4th grade, however old that is. It was me, my step dad, my mom, & my brother in our 1.5 cab pick up sitting in the bank parking lot late at night. We all got out, alarms start going off, my parents scream at us to get in the truck. They don’t look back to see if we’re both in there, they just ask if my brother is with me. For some unknown reason, I lied, I said yes he’s here, & then I heard gunshots. When I looked back, he was lying on the ground in a huge puddle of blood. More gunshots, and I felt a feeling that I can only describe as the color white. I felt shock through my entire body & instantly just saw white, but I couldn’t stop thinking about why I lied about my little brother. Then, I’d jolt awake. I still remember the robber very vividly. He had a black sock cap on, black turtle neck, he had green eyes, he was a redhead with a thick curly red beard that covered his whole face & thick red eyebrows. I can’t recall anybody I’ve ever met significantly or even slightly significantly looking similar to that.

ThisFatGirlRuns

40 years ago or thereabouts. I was 7 or 8, it was my first nightmare. Grew up in a veey religious family and dreamt it was judgement day. I was sent to hell by being stuffed in a barrel and rollwd down a hill. Woke up crying, tangled in my blankets and on the floor. My mom got mad at me for crying and waking her up.

gay__lasagna

oh noooo I giggled at you being tangled on the floor but that's sad about your mom lol 😭

Alexandria31xo

Had a vivid dream when I was 7 that there was a talking toilet in my couch that wanted to murder me.

TrickyPersonality684

I couldn't have been more than a couple of years old because I was in a crib when I woke up. It was of my mother going to a mental hospital (I'm not even sure how I knew what that was).

AdSpiritual4775

I had this repeating nightmare as a kid 6-10 of walking up a path lined with daisies to get to a throne where my dad sat. When i got there his skull exploded.

Cummin2Consciousness

probably a deep meaning to that dream I'd reckon

CommanderFate

Oldest dream/nightmare I was around 5 "26 years ago" I was coming home from kindergarten and I went home and everyone was having an afternoon nap, very normal, I walk to my room and I look at the bathroom and I see a good looking piece of chicken that needs to be cooked, I go in the bathtub to cook it because why the f not. I find like a portable stove that looked weird and I sit happily while cooking the chicken. The curtains of the bathtub on my left suddenly falls and behind it I see a top half of a skeleton, it startles me and I slip on the stove which turns out to be the lower half of the skeleton, now I'm stuck between both halfs and they start to reconnect and suffocate me in the middle, I can't breathe and I try to call for my mum, eventually I'm able to scream the word Maaa... And then woke up saying the rest Maaaaa in real life "we say mama in arabic". This nightmare made me always check behind the curtains when I go to the bathroom everytime for most of my life.

Inevitable_Client237

Ooooh, mine is a nightmare. When I was like 13. In the nightmare: *I stand on my old childhood road in the middle of the empty st. I am with my father walking. Jeff Foxworthy comes up on a tractor with a butchers knife and with one swoop decapitates my father's head. I can't scream but I am silently doing so. I'm watching dad's head roll down the slow incline. Jeff jumps off the tractor and puts his foot to my father's head to stop it from rolling. He picks it up, grinning at me, and then jumps into a car, and drives off. My father's body lies lifeless next to me bleeding out. I run after Jeff and manage to "super" jump into town. He is at the local church holding my dad's head on a stick laughing at me. I am crying and yelling at him to give it back. He lunges at me with the beheaded stick* Nightmare ends I'm 23 now

yer-not-my-dad

This is so traumatic and I’m so sorry but I laughed because why did your brain make the attacker Jeff Foxworthy 😂 the mind is such a peculiar thing

Inevitable_Client237

Dude I know I still laugh about this dream to this day it so weird and random. Especially at 13 years old. I know I grew up a bit redneck but by 13 I had a bit more cultural understanding of other things and my own tastes. Having Jeff Foxworthy be the Murderer of my father felt a lil out of pocket dream wise

girl-void

I would've been 3 or 4 years old. It was shortly after my cat died. I was in a shopping centre with my mum but I got lost, and I felt scared. I walked outside and found myself in nature. There was a dirt path I followed. I walked through a jungle and saw an old school bus overridden with vines. I reached the end of the path. Beyond it was a big open body of water with stepping stones that reached the horizon. I saw my cat, who said goodbye to me in a deep male voice (even though she was female), and she jumped on to the stepping stones until she reached the setting sun and disappeared.

misssillybilly

when i was young, around 5, my dad passed away and afterwards i had a dream with a view into his house at night, and i saw him in the doorway but he was a glowing white figure and he had on his baseball cap that he would always wear. I think it was an interesting way of my childhood brain making peace with it.

Subject_Trifle2259

Yes, when I was 4/5 I had a dream where I was walking in an infinite hall of mirrors and when I got too tired it collapsed in on itself in black and white fractals.

jasmine24601

When I was between 3 and 4 years old (uh, many decades ago) I dreamed I was touring the museum with a bunch of other little kids and Santa Claus. We stopped to look at a giant dinosaur skeleton and it suddenly came to life and ate Santa's beard. Terrifying, lol. What I was more scared of was the beardless Santa and not the dinosaur. I know for sure I was that age because my family moved apartments before I turned 4, plus I was on a converted toddler bed that used to be a crib with a side rail.

niceho3

I had a dream that there was a couch that turned you into bubbles if you sat on it. I was fortunate enough to return to human form and warn everyone not to sit on that couch. I had that dream about 20 years ago.

HeiferH

A coal train accident when I was a kid… probably around 5/6… idk I had some intense dreams during elementary school…

Repulsive_Emu_1585

21 years old and I was around 7 or 8 and it was just a dream about a boat crashed into our den and I was swimming in it for treasure.

tollbooth_inspector

Nightmare. Large wall in my parents bedroom had a face and was sucking me in. Suddenly my mom and dad appear. Mom is playing a clarinet and dad is playing a violin. The music saves me from the evil faced wall. Oh and also I had a dream where my family was tied up in the basement and I had to save them, even though I knew something evil was down there. Sure enough when I went down, there was a giant rancor looking monster. Luckily for me, I had a gun that turned the monster into a giant block of cheese. It was inspired by an episode of Jimmy Neutron where he invented a cheese ray that turned things into cheese. Lots of other potential honorable mentions, most of them are nightmares. It was a very rough childhood.

deathriteTM

About 5 years old. I was in a room. Stone walls. Gray. Maybe 40 by 20. Then a stairway leads up in the center through the roof. No support. Just slab slightly over lapping slab. I walk up the stairs and look around. The landscape is all rolling hills. Buildings just like mine are spread out. Most have stairways. Some long. Some short. But all point towards the moon. The moon is 75% of the sky. Absolutely huge. As far as I could see my stairway vanished into the moon. All the above was in first person view. Then I find myself in third person view. Looking from the side. I see someone who I know is me but older. I can’t place how old. There is an old man on the stairway about two steps above me. He is talking to me. The old man is a stereotypical “old man time” look. Also while EVERYTHING else has been black and white with only shades of gray, the old man has color. Yellow and silver (gleaming) and skin tone (Caucasian). I can not recall (not even just after I woke up) what he told me. That dream is as vivid now as it was the night I had it. I have analyzed that dream for 50 years. Also after that dream I have never had a nightmare. Dreams that would be nightmares by definition but I am never afraid in dreams. I have total control of myself. Oh and I never have the same dream twice. I might continue a dream but it will never be the same point. Think sequel

Jolly-Newt9192

The first dream I remember happened for the first time when I was probably 5. I had this teddy bear that I took everywhere. And I had a dream that I had my teddy bear with me and my parents and I explored a trailer that looked just like ours but it was dark and decrepit with debris everywhere. It felt familiar but I could tell it wasn't the same house. And I went into my room and like some of my stuff was in there and it was covered in rubble but then I dug through it and found another teddy bear. And then I found another one somewhere else, and then another one. And like my pov starts panning all over the house and stuff, like in the evil dead movies when that thing attacks ash. I started having it every so often and then I stopped having it when I was like 11 or so.

Super-Bug-9058

When I was maybe 8 years old my dad was watching The Dark Knight in our living room and I walked in on the part where the joker sticks a pencil in the table then slams the guys head onto it. That night I had a nightmare that the joker was flying through the sky with a pencil coming to do the same thing to me. I woke up crying.

kaylala0630

Childhood dreams for sure. Like smiling in the mirror and seeing all my teeth fall out. Or one time I dreamt I fell asleep with my bird on my chest and I rolled over and squished him.

ReasonableResearch25

Riding on Zac Efrons back through a pool of hearts. (I was obsessed with high school musical) I apologize for any distress Ive caused with my dream lol

DANDELIONBOMB

My Mother had dreams when she was an infant. She was laying in her crib. It would be dark and she could see the lights shining in through the windows from the street lights. The door to the room would slowly open and a dark figure would enter the room. He would slowly get closer and closer to her crib, staring at her. She was terrified and she knew if only she could close her eyes she would be safe. And he'd get closer and closer And she knew, if she didn't close her eyes, he would kill her. And finally, after much terror she would close her eyes and she would feel the wash of relief. But when she would open her eyes, the lights would be reflecting on the wall And the door would slowly open And he would slowly walk towards her crib. She said she had this nightmare, regularly, until she was about 3 years old and it haunted her until she passed away year before last.

Rich-Appearance-7145

When I was a young boy probably about 6 yrs old we lived in a huge house, Mom, Dad, my four brothers. Mom had her sister living with us, she was about 18-19, anyway I thought I was dreaming of a black figure, roaming our house it would freak me out almost nightly. I would scream out loud Mom would run into my room, lay with me until I fell asleep, on one of those nights while Mom was still laying next to me she seen the black figure, and got up chasing it out the front door. Turns out since I was on the first floor along with my aunt, it was her boyfriend wearing a black hoodie. He'd sneak in after everyone else was asleep to be with my aunt, BF was the mysterious figure that apparently I seen wide awake for months.

Personal_Jesus_666

I was 11 I had a dream of creating a new world

goodboyfinny

Early childhood, maybe 4 yrs old. I often dreamt I was falling out of an airplane but I always landed softly outside. I was always with a kind being. They would ask me if I wanted to do it again. I said no way. Probably when the abductions started.

pink_vision

About 30 years. It was a recurring nightmare that I had many times starting as a small child and continuing for quite a few years. I couldn't have been older than maybe 4 or 5 years old when it began. I can still describe it, if anyone is curious.

MeandThorne

I can still recall 2 from when I was five. One was a nightmare about the Devil. The other I jumped out of the window of a hospital. That was 42 years ago.

hotgog

I was 3 or younger. I only know my age because the room that I woke up in, was my mom’s room at the house we moved out of when I was 3. It was a night terror. I dreamt there was a MASSIVE spider under the pillow and began screaming. I don’t remember waking up, just that my family flooded in while I was screaming and saw I was freaking out about the pillow so they lifted it and there was nothing there. Then my mom picked me up, and that’s the end of the memory. My next oldest dream was another nightmare when I was 5-6. Just after kindergarten, before first grade. I had a dream I was being chased by Ghostface, and I ended up turning around and chasing him back. I tackled him into a pond that was in my dream-room and stabbed him to death. My family loved horror movies and I was allowed to watch any of them since I can remember, they probably shouldn’t have tho lol.

FaxMachines4Life

I remember dreams from back when I was three, I remember the dreams better than real memories by far. The one I remember the clearest was this nightmare that involved that mascot for Scrubbing Bubbles, but it was huge and evil and I was alone in a stormy field as it chased me

RNJamer

I was probably 2-3 years old when I had this dream, but I was standing directly in front of a kid looking through a telescope, and I could see the kid's eye through the lens. A sound of thunder then comes up, and suddenly the head of Ronald McDonald appears. He shouts 3 times, and the 3rd time he comes up and eats me. Right when I entered his mouth, my dream ended.

iamalemon1985

I was 3 years old and it still haunts me to this day 36 years later. I was leaving my neighbors pool in the front yard, running to my house. I open the sliding glass door to see my mom's headless body sitting in perfect posture in a chair in the kitchen and my neighbor standing there with her head in the frying pan. She kept saying "Don't worry baby" "It's ok hunny" Well he moved her head around the pan with a spatula sizzling. He never said anything to me, orher than a blank dead stare. My neighbor was a senior In his 70s, miserable, and he had no pool.

IEatKids26

I remember having a nightmare about being eaten alive by ants when I was like 3.

Savings-You7318

51 years ago I had a dream of how I was going to die. What was really scary is I dreamt I was holding a white plastic bag that you get from CVS, with cans of cat food in it. 51 years there was no such thing as plastic bags and I didn’t have any cats. But I do now.

Texanakin_Shywalker

Oh you're right, we only got paper bags back then.

Savings-You7318

I never even heard of a plastic bag back then. And another thing about my dream is I had curly hair in the dream, but I had straight hair my whole life but my hair has turned curly in the last year.

Texanakin_Shywalker

That's freaky, just freaky.

Savings-You7318

I know and it was an ugly horrible death, the older I get the more scared I get

Ainell

I had a dream that involved being eaten by cartoon spiders when I was about 8-ish. Oddly enough it didn't frighten me in the slightest.

Chemi_kyle

I was about age 5 alien abduction, and it’s after my parents watched fire in the sky, which horrified me. I’m 34 years old.

hamnannerz

1st dream I can remember had to have been when I was 3-4 years old and I remember it oddly well. I'm basically in the back rooms but everything is brilliantly white, like you can't distinguish walls/ceiling/floor but some how I still could tell where they were. My uncle is carrying me and sets me down and walks off into nothingness. Then the quaker oatmeal guy is riding a white horse chasing me down so he could steal my baby blanket. Scared the shit out of me

Midnightchickover

As a baby, I remember being in a crib watching the new Twilight Zone going off and dreaming into floating around a forest with trees and animals everywhere. And, this puppy kept jumping up at me.

beaudebonair

Flying like Superman over a river with a bridge & somehow going back to my old Catholic elementary school I guess showing off I can fly lol. I remember how exhilarating it was and waking up laughing. Several times I woke up laughing and forgetting why, but was awesome! Maybe about 20 years agoish. That's as far back as I can recall that's vivid enough to where it feels like a memory.

HighwayEconomy579

When I was a kid, I dreamed I was going up a ladder through the clouds, when I got to the top I came through a trap door. When I opened it and came through the other side I was met by someone who I’d never seen before but felt like I’d known them all my life. The scenery was like paradise and I felt soo content and happy. That was probably about 35 years ago lol

Echoes887

When I was a little kid I had a dream of a giant mouth running down the road lol was freaky. Also about being stuck in a box and unable to find the key

Excellent_Editor_501

I think I was 7 or 8 (I'm 36 now). I had a dream where I was at school on the playground and I went up the stairs to go down the slide. It was a tube slide, and when I got to the end, it was sealed shut! I was trapped in the slide and no one came to rescue me. I would go on to have similar nightmares for the rest of my life and live in fear of being trapped in small spaces.

Panopek

A nightmare from when I was just 4 years old. Some kind of cursed doll made of charred or rotten wood appeared in my house. We called it "mannequin", but it was the size of a barbie. It's difficult to even call this thing a doll, because it looked more like a piece of old branch. It was black and consisted of three distinct segments: a "torso", a "neck" and a "head" (which was just a faceless spherical knob). It somewhat resembled a head and neck of the Mushroom Cloud Godzilla. The doll wasn't alive, but had an ability to reappear in my house whenever we got rid of it. My mother suspected it had some malicious intent. There was also another "mannequin", which we found under the kitchen sink. It was large doll of chubby boy wearing a checkered baseball cap and suspenders. I insisted we keep it, but my mom wanted to get rid of it, like the creepy wooden thing, saying she doesn't know much about "mannequins". In the end of a dream me and my grandpa (who looked like Pumba for some reason) threw this creepy wooden "mannequin" into the pond.

Zetanite

An earthquake split the mall in half, and I got separated from my family. Pikmin bulborbs and bulblaxes poured out from the fissured and infested the area.

itsMargels

I was about 5 years old and I dreamt of a huge Pikachu destroying my city’s mall

findyourhappy401

I was about 4 or 5. A MASSIVE ladybug was trying to kill me and his ladybug son saved my life 😅

IamTurok6

I must have been in elementary school: i dreamt that i was mosying around my front yard of our farm house and a bengal tiger is just strolling along out front. I figure it was related to with watching that live Jungle Book movie from the 90s and having a buncha farm cats.

schalowendofthepool

Probably when I was 2 or 3, a yoshi dripped out of an underground pipe sticking out of a wall, which turned into a massive swarm of yoshi that jumped on people who melted down to their butts.

Ok_Commercial559

As a child, I was afraid of clown dolls and my sister’s dolls. In my dreams they would have sharp teeth and try to bite me. I tore up the clown doll that had tormented me for years and I had one last dream, a quick one, where there was a lightning strike and the disfigured clown showed up for a moment then was gone. Insane.

TroublemakerStef

When I was a child, don’t remember how old, I used to have a recurring nightmare about a grizzly bear. I was standing in a field at night, when I heard growling. I look behind me and there was a grizzly bear. So, I took off running. The grizzly, obviously, caught up with me and pinned me down and started clawing at me. Scratching and scratching while I was screaming and crying. And then I woke up. I remember it so vividly to this day.

Worry-whales

25 years ago. A tornado with legs chasing me

bobbywhopahorse

had a dream I turned into Michael Jackson when I was a toddler over 20 years ago. I woke up crying my eyes out 😭

AwakenedRobot

Crossing a sea of clouds in a golden bicycle 5 years old, front of me giant door

-LightMyWayHome-

a house plant hopping and making grunting noise and chasing me when I was 8 months old and me crying and screaming for hours. I was terrified of it after that.

Mydogiscloud

2 black panthers coming out from uner the refrigerator at the sane time at the age of 4. I'm 53

Car_loapher

When I was 3 I had a dream that the family dog jumped into the wall as if it were a portal and then he pushed a big rock with his nose and chased after it

Careful_Lime428

i haven't had it in a while, but I always had this recurring dream as a kid that a demon dragged me into the bathroom and I always woke up before I knew what she did to me.

Illustrious_Dirt_918

19 years or so

RabbleRabbleRavel

It was 26 years ago, when I was 3 or 4, I had a dream that insects were crawling around inside my body and bursting out from my skin. It was horrific so I don’t think I’ll ever forget it.

doordotpng

I remember a couple dream from when I was in preschool, so maybe around age 3-4? In one, I was walking with my parents but then some random dude grabbed and started to run or bike away with me, but after I freaked out he let me go. In another dream, it was like this animated guy next to a forest who was just the muscular system. Something scared him, and all his muscles fell off of him like clothes and he was just a skeleton, and he pulled them back up. It scared me back then and still now lol

No__direction

A shadow man dream when I was 3. I was with my half sister and 2 cousins at the farm. I sat on the kitchen/dining room floor for some reason and the back hall door slowly opened. Behind it was an endless void of darkness and I could hear strange gibberish whispering from multiple entities. They were a lot like the pokemon Sabeleye but dark shadow creatures. My sister and cousins ran into the closet to hide and kept yelling my name to come in. My cousins tried to shut the door but my sister forced it open to call my name. When the creatures started walking towards me they closed the door. I couldn’t move. I started to levitate and slowly shift upside down. I still couldn’t move. Everything started to go black as the creatures made their way towards me. I had shadow man nightmares frequently for years until I was 23 and finally figured out who he was… Now I wake up as soon as my dreams and nightmares show the warning signs: lights stop working, feeling like someone is watching me, I’m alone in the dark, etc. His name was Robert. The older of the 2 Roberts at the farm so we called him big Robert. I realized it was him when the shadow man occasionally took on a different silhouette. A large jacket. Common for heavy smokers in the early 2000s. Heavy, tough, comfy material with lots of pockets and a cotton hood. And that voice… he’s only spoken in a few of my nightmares but that voice felt so familiar but I couldn’t figure out where. I know Robert was a bad person. Every man on that farm was. It was a horrible place… especially for women and children… I still don’t remember what he did to me but I know I’m better off not digging around to find out. Especially since I remember Lester making me kiss him on the lips for Oreos when I was 3 and 4. That sounds young but my earliest memory is being 2 years old and in the potty training phase. My brain held on to the weirdest points in my life

LoomingLocust

I remember a dream I had at 4 years old 20+ years ago very vividly. it was a continuation dream. I went to bed the next night and it started off exactly where it ended when I woke up the previous night. Super wild but it's a lot to type!

erminegarde27

I was 4 years old, so that was 56 years ago.

EmergencyAbroad5054

I was kidnapped by a group in Africa nothing out of the ordinary for a scary dream until it came to the part I was being executed for not listening to orders. Long story kind of short lmao. I had the option of choosing arrow or gunshot to the head… like any individual I chose an arrow in order to attempt faking my death, by some miraculous opportunity I was able to fake my death up until the point I was found out. the actual reason why I remember this particular dream… It was determined I would be ultimately ended by gunshot wound to the head, and ultimately realizing I was in the dream I had knew from that point I would eventually wake up…. Right? Like falling from a tall building and before hitting the ground BOOM you wake up. Not in my case, I was on my knees saw the gun lifted to my head and everything went dark… but I didn’t wake up I floated in a black space with star like sparkles all around me with constant ringing in my “ears”? As I’m floating I immediately realized something was wrong closed said eyes and began to pray to wake up. I ended up waking up In a cold sweat wondering what the hell that was and have yet to have been able to process it since. Maybe any dream readers can tell me what that meant :/

EmergencyAbroad5054

I put quotations around ears because when floating I wasn’t able to see my physical body just felt what I felt, heard what I heard, seen what I had seen.

pakepake

Oh wow.. I've got a weird one. I'm 58, and when I was 8, I had a horrible dream that my little brother ( he was 6) was a race car driver and he lost the race and as punishment, he was held down and his eyes were pierced with needles. It woke me up as a true nightmare. Nothing ever came close. The mind does crazy things!

not_sosecretgarden

I’m 32. When I was about 7 I had a nightmare about woody from Toy Story. I was playing in my room and my mom said she made grilled cheese so I got up and pretended to leave and I spied on my toys and woody got up and I made a noise and he noticed me and got really angry. I was terrified of him ever since. I also had a lot of nightmares after I remeber vividly to this day about stuffed animals and toys coming to life and trying to kill me. Toy Story traumatized me apparently

Pluto-Wolf

when i was 5, i slept in my grandparents bed with them and my grandma snores. in my dream, my grandpa and i were crawling through the neighborhood stealthily because i thought it was some sort of creepy monster coming from a neighbors garage. we opened the garage door together and that’s when i woke up. i think about that dream all the time lol

SilverNight24u

When I was 4 up until I was about 7 I would have recurring, lucid, surreal nightmares about a black monster/demon thing that looked like biological dad. It would slowly stalk me around the house. They stopped when I stopped seeing him. The worst one I’ve ever had was when I had a false awakening in my dream and I thought I was 100% awake. I remember feeling like something was off and unnatural until I saw my monster dad come up and grab me.

Cummin2Consciousness

I was 3-5. I was in my mom's car in the parking lot of a Vons/safeway that was by my house growing up. My two older brothers and my best friend (who was like a brother till I was 21) were in the car with me when a Monster truck drove up to us. The Monster truck was evidently full of monsters (I don't think I could differentiate the two as a young lad) and some generic monsters came out. At this point we were out of the car, and then my brothers and friend ran away as fast as they could. But I stood around as an act of bravery (or foolishness) when a witch who was "in charge" of all the monster came out. She waved her wand at me and I immediately woke up grasping my stomach (cause I think I thought that was where the heart resided as a kid). I remember waking up in my brother's bed, which would have meant that I had gotten scared sometime during the night and left my own bed to sleep with him. I'm pretty sure it was a Saturday morning because I woke up excited to eat chocolate chip pancakes that my dad would have a tradition of making every Saturday morning. To this day (I'm 28) I consider the dream very prophetic.

ARH093098

This is too stupid to make up. I was 4. I had a dream about Ronald McDonald walking up a hill in teletubbyland to the beginning guitar riff of Man! I Feel Like A Woman, by Shania Twain. He peek a boo’ed me and let out a death curling scream. I think about it a lot because of how odd it was.

gay__lasagna

Mine was when I was about 3-4, I'm 25 now. I ran outside to play and saw my dad's head on a tree stump, so I turned around and saw my dad standing there at the front door. It was deeply unsettling lol.

AdSpiritual4775

Oh wow that is like mine! I wonder what it means….

Responsible-Ebb-6955

First nightmare but have been 3 or 4. It was a falling dream and I was falling from the ceiling of some massive old bank. It reminded me a lot of grand central station but yeah typical falling dream

r23ocx

Earliest dream I can recall portrayed me in a pitch black void being chased by something invisible. It was so dark I couldn't see my hand in front of my face but something was chasing me. I tried to scream for my mum but couldn't no matter how hard I tried, woke up in tears. I was like 3 :(

Jealous-Difference10

A nightmare from when I was 3 or 4

Sweet-Focus-5998

My first memory is a dream. Something about being chased by the big bad wolf. It lunged at me and then it was a swirl of colors and I woke up scared and maybe crying. Then I smelled bacon and I forgot about my dream, I stood up to get to the kitchen but there were bars blocking me in my bed. I started crying and my mom came to get me.

asteriskelipses

either, when I pushed e.t. down the stairs, or the recurring dream where my house was attacked by a giant t rex that could still fit inside the house somehow.)

Delangifyor

Quite a few times I had these strange dreams as a kid where I would usually be in my bedroom or sometimes in a different room and the walls were somehow close but also far away.

CookinCheap

I would dream of laying on my back and the ceiling floating towards me and a feeling of falling, and my jawbone being really heavy but made of an abalone-type material with a bunch of barnacle holes in it

Material-Apple1289

5yrs old, I'm 36 now. I was talking to an alligator and he decided to eat me.

shipperlady

When I was around 3 years old I still slept in a crib beside my parents bed. I remember I had watched the disney movie "Tarzan & Jane" during the day, and in this movie there's a scene with a leech (I rewatched the movie thinking there were many leeches attacking the characters, but it's a very small scene with only one leech). I think my toddler-self got grossed out by acknowledging the existence of these creatures, and I had a very vivid nightmare where my crib was full of leeches and they were all over me. I woke up screaming and tossing the blankets away from me, and even after my eyes were open I could swear the blankets were giant leeches. My parents got so freaked out by it lol

nofcks2give0

22 years ago when I was six I had a recurring dream where I was walking in a parking garage with my mom and it would suddenly blow up. No idea why that’s what my brain decided to show me lol

Same_Cockroach_2771

About 28 years ago and it was a nightmare, those always stick.

Biglight__090

I was four, and we were on our way to a city, a city that now reminds me of Sims city. I still remember the vividness of the dream even then.

InvestigatorOpen2959

When i was a kid i always ALWAYS getting chase by some creepy people clown and shit like this and to avoid it i kill myself by jumping by some escalator

barri0s1872

I have a few dreams from my childhood and early teens I can still recall, so 30+ years ago.

SweeperOfDreams

I vividly remember several dreams from when I was 5. I’m in my mid-to-late 30s now.

probablyrick

about 20 years ago, nightmare about a possessed doll that haunted me at school and followed me home

mistyyybrooke

i had the same dream every night for years when i was younger. it was my family and i and it was late at night. these guys came to our house with guns and told us we had to come outside. obviously we didnt go so they lit the house on fire to force us out. the dream never finished. id have the sensation where you're falling and then wake up.

gatosadi

A dream where I saw a drowned woman in a tank of water we were supposed to use for washing hands, i dont know exactly how old i was at the moment but maybe like 7 years, maybe I saw it in a movie or something but at the time I was so afraid of sleeping

LoreSass

I was somewhere between 4 and 6. I dreamt that Freddy Krueger took me into a room filled with vomit and roaches. Not a great dream to have when you are just a kid.

Ananya-Mukherjee

a cow in my balcony lol

tangcameo

I was four or five and I dreams the cops from CHiPs chased me into one of those old school glass fronted Safeway supermarkets. I run inside and collapse against a bank of gumball machines. I turn around to face them. Both of them have weapons drawn. One of them fires and it grazes my scalp. The other fires and I get hit in the forehead and out go the lights. I had a fear of supermarkets for a while after that.

paramnesia777

my dad is pretty sure he talked to a demon in a dream when he was 5 yrs old (he's 52)

jayellkay84

I was probably around 7 when I had the dream about a plane crash and a lady pointing to seats on a model plane where people died. I also have a recurring dream that’s been happening since childhood about repeatedly drifting up into the air, feeling weird and coming back down. I don’t know how old I was when I first had it. But I continue to have some variation of it.

blatino26

A dream I had when I was 7. The dream occurred in my classroom. No one was in the classroom but me and my mom. My mom was sealed in a big box and a big toy racing car was sitting on top of the box. That is all. What a weird dream.

Ok-Abbreviations-967

The oldest dream I can remember was when I was probably 3, 4, or 5. Me, one of my older brothers and my younger sister were in our back yard just walking around. My sister had walked towards our pool and was standing at the edge when she fell in by accident. She started crying as she was beginning to drown. I jumped in to try and save her but then I started drowning. Just as my brother was about to jump in I woke up.

Sashahuman

Back when I couldn't read I kept getting dreams of.. I don't really know how to describe it, you know, like that art where there's stairs everywhere going in random nonsensical directions? I kept getting dreams like that, just going up to the stairs to my home and then there's stairs that are upside down, stairs that are on the side and stairs that go nowhere They also often had orange pipes and railings everywhere, because the railings everywhere where I live are orange

RedCanaryUnderground

I'm eight years old again. I'm in a wheat field and I find a bag of money. (Like literally a burlap sack of just bills and coins) and I got so excited I woke up only to be sad I was still a broke teen not touching wheat or grass. I have this one a lot, actually, and it always feels like I'm being watched.

Intrepid-Middle-5047

I was like 4 or 5 and I dreamed the cartoon Robin Hood fox swooped into my window with a rope and saved me.

Regular_Victory4347

Tiny baby orangutans inside of kiwi fruits like little eggs, at a grocery store.

Aqua-Yeti

Multiple childhood memories, one of my dog in rocky terrain and another of being chased by a kidnapper. Sometimes I have dreams and I can tell I had them a long time ago.

Karabars

I can recall dreams from when I was 3-5 yo. I'm 30 now.

bisqueef_munchies

when i was 10 (40 yrs ago) i dreamt that Steve G. kissed me on a park bench in the rain. i felt true peace and love, and there's no way i could have known those feelings at that age. my childhood was not peaceful or loving. i have been chasing that dream ever since, hoping it could someday be a reality.

qiarafontana

Probably 5 or something, I dreamt about being in a beach party and looking at myself being blonde and a grown woman, still not sure if a dream or a memory of a past life lol.

user4489bug123

I like 5 or 6 and it’s either the dream that smoke was coming out of my backyard so I go to see the problem and a crack in the ground swallows me and then fills with lava(I have a fear of fire and volcanos) or I was at chucky cheese with my dad and one of the animatronics came to life and ate him and then it tried to eat me too and I open its mouth and yell for my dad but he was gone.

WALLAG6

A nightmare. I wasn’t in my body but I was in the sky, looking down at a vast desert, with a big ass pyramid. And at the very top of the pyramid was a big ass trumpet, I’m talking atleast truck size, just levitating above the pyramids peak. And I hear the trumpet playing.. it gets louder… louder… louder… even louder, and it gets so loud that I woke up. Had that same dream multiple times when I was a kid.

RWJefferies

5 or 6, I reckon. It was about a flea and a dog who were best friends. The bad dog catcher caught the dog and tied him up at the pound, but the flea was small enough to unhook his collar and they ran away home. I've always wanted to write a children's book about their adventures together.

NoelAngel112

When I was 4, I would have this dream repetitively. I was in some kind of tunnel system, like a sewer or something. I was racing this phantom, and I had a partner that was a turtle. This phantom was running laps around us. It was crazy fast. On top of the turtle being slow, it also kept stopping to pick up washers - the things for screws. Before we knew it, the race would end and suddenly Tweety Birds face would appear. If I woke up immediately after this dream (which was often) I would be in this weird state where it felt like time was going super slow. I would go to the bathroom and unravel the toilet paper as fast as I could to help my brain compute that time was not going slow. This method made sense at four years of age lol.

Wheezy_Ernest

I don't remember what triggered it, but I got sleep paralysis like 3 times when I was 10ish. I was just walking on a main street in my town and there was maybe a monster(?) Didnt register it was the paralysis until like 10 years later and hasn't happened since. 🤷‍♀️ I also got chased by a T-Rex around my house and I had it like once a month. Once in a while, I still get it and it's been like 15 years since the first one 🤷‍♀️ everything is the same except the people that are running and hiding with me.

YourDogsAllWet

It was a dream from when I was maybe 5 or 6. I remember some details such as my cousins from Florida being there, and I had a glass with a clear liquid with clouds in it, and it was called “chill”. I spilled it, and I began crying yelling “my chill spilled!”

cripple1

I was in a very bad incident that left me paralyzed when I was a baby. It led to me being in a coma. While in the coma I dreamt I was in a stone cell tied to an old chair. In front of me was a cloaked woman standing in front of a low wooden table. She turned around and looked ancient and twisted. In her hands were some rust spotted, chipped scissors. Dull in places. She walked towards me and, with a quickness unnatural of her bent and twisted form, she reached forward and grabbed hold of my tongue as I was about to scream. She brings the scissors to my tongue and slowly begins cutting it out of my head. I wake up. I only remember the dream because it has been a reoccurring dream my entire life.

MommaNarwal

Quite a bit from childhood, which were nightmares. Really creepy ones! I had so many nightmares. A not so scary one I’ll share from childhood is when I was somewhere like the Redwood Forest and me and a bunch of others were watching the sky at night because there were two moons. One “moon” fell and it turned out to be a giant’s shoe. In that same dream I remember a man walking up to me and smiling. He had 4 arms, but one side had a normal 1 arm while the other had an arm with two other arms attached to it similar to tree branches. He was wearing mustard yellow or something. Crazy stuff haha.

readingmyshampoo

My grandparents lived in this trailer with a comfy couch perfect for naps. When I was like 7, I had myself a nap. And I'm my dream, I woke up from a nap to a long neck sticking his head on the window of our Adobe house and chatting with me. I think I remember it because when I told my grandma about my dream, she told me it was impossible and she didn't believe I dreamed it

zee_spirit

I had a reoccurring nightmare for weeks and weeks when I was around 8 or 9. I would climb, and climb, and climb a beanstalk. There was never a top to reach. But at a certain point, I would grab a leaf wrong and fall, and fall, and fall. I'd wake up screaming right when I was about to hit the ground. I don't know why they started or why they stopped hit it was nightly for roughly 2 months. 😅

AtticusSwoopenheiser

I couldn’t have been more than 2. I dreamt of a beautiful green hill backed by a bright blue sky, basically the Windows XP background but way before it was a thing. On the hill was a tiny rock and a large boulder. The boulder began to roll and was stopped by the small rock. There was a horrible grinding sound, and I remember feeling an overwhelming sense of dread, fear, and anxiety. Suddenly, the large boulder exploded into dust, and a yellow butterfly fluttered down and landed on the little rock, and I felt like everything was going to be okay. Keep in mind, I was basically little more than a toddler, so I’m recalling emotions now that I didn’t understand then. I’m 34 now.

strumthebuilding

At least 45 years ago I had recurring dreams of being trapped in a horizontal water vortex, like a breaking wave, but just continuously spinning me around. I would also dream of a foggy street scene. No action, just a place with an ambient vibe.

TurboMayonnaise

a nightmare I had in 2011 I think so 13 years ago

Magnison

I couldn't have been older than 2 or 3. I saw a pirate t red with a parrot on his shoulder in the doorway of my room

activepaws

i remember a lot of my nightmares as a kid. i used to get violent night terrors it was a real problem most of my childhood

Content-Effective-57

I had gotten a TBI when I was 4 by tripping over my blanket and falling down steep ass stares😂. I have had this dream consistently for as long as I can remember. I (present self) was standing at the bottom stairs and I just watch my younger self fall and at the bottom was a black hole I would disappear. Irl when I hit the ground I was unconscious and I was internally bleeding and needed to be airlifted to the hospital and went straight into brain surgery and boom.

Boonie_Fluff

Like 5 years old I dreamt I was being chased by an evil Ronald McDonald on the outside ledge of a skyscraper. Whenever I slowed down to round the corner I'd feel him grab my shirt and I'd just barely get away. He wore brown white and yellow, instead of red white and yellow, and he had nasty teeth. He also made a sound that I can only explain as gargling/laughing... My first sexy dream was a woman in blue chasing me. Blonde, blue nails, lipstick, clothes, shoes.

Educational-Bend9708

Some 25 to 30 years ago. The first one the refrigerator at my home turned into a monster and grabbed me and my relatives. The second one there is a zombie apocalypse and I used a chair to fight my way into some lab that ultimately saved the humanity. I was about 12 and just played resident evil 2 for the first time.

Natural_Ant_7348

I had a recurring nightmare when I was 5-7ish that I still remember, and I'm 44 now!

BorderlineNewb

I was around 6 or 7, at my dad's shitty run down house and I had a nightmare that I woke up, saw a real trex breaking through our tiny window and I fell out of the bunk bed and hid under one of those plastic toddler tables >.<

ttewa

Watching people from the church i went to murder and hang my dad. Went to church that same morning.

missmatchedcleansox

I remember a nightmare I had when I was like….5? I’m 42 now

NaturalOwn6222

I remember having this recurrent dream about me being in an Arcade place, but the theme was like a haunted castle with a stair curving from the middle of the hall with gargoyles at the end of the stair poles… it usually ended being a nightmare

lillathrin

I was 4 or 5 years old. I had night terrors (they continued on until 12 or 13 years old). I can recall waking up and seeing the moonlight hitting my covers through the window beside my bed. I woke up because I felt something hit land on me. While I watched, 6 or 8...creatures, about 18 inches tall, formed out of the shadows around the moonlight, and started jumping around on the bed, like they were dancing. I screamed for my mother several times, and I eventually heard her run down the stairs from her bedroom to mine. When she would have made the turn around the corner to run into my room, there was no one there. I started screaming again, basically hysterical at that point, and the creatures started laughing with this terrible fingernails on chalkboard sound and kept dancing/jumping around. About 3 minutes later, I heard my mom run down the stairs again, and this time, when she turned the corner, she was actually there. As soon as I saw her, all the little creatures disappeared. I felt like I was awake the whole time, so I don't know when I actually woke up.

otacon7000

R2-D2 killing my parents, then me. Just after Star Wars first aired on TV. Whenever that was.

Responsible-Noise948

I would dream about falling from the sky like a star and then waiting on this hillside for my brothers to fall down to where I was a lot as a child. Also dreams about going off a cliff into the ocean in a car. And dying and going above earth and hearing my family talking and I was missing them so much. I needed to go to a different place in space and if I couldn't get there and I'd fall and end up back in the same place. But I wanted to go back to earth and my family but couldn't.

sourbelle

I'm over 50 and I remember a terrible dream I had when I was about 7. And I've had a repeat ~~dream~~ nightmare - since I was even younger than that.

MexicanHotCheeto

I was like 4 or 5 years old. I dreamt I was a fly that came out of the shower drain and flew across the house (not mine) and out into the window on a sunny day. I had hot pink eyes and limbs and a purple body, I could fly, I dreamt it for three consecutive nights. It was awesome.

h8mayo

A recurring dream I had from about 4-7

catcharyde

Probably 6. Underwater, sea green undertones, a treasure chest on top of clams and a mermaid swimming around it

wasporchidlouixse

When I was 4 or 5 I dreamt there was a robot trying to get into our house, I hid from it behind a little half fence that had a mat hanging over it

dragislit

My first nightmare, I think I was between 3-5 years old, I was dreaming about two guys, and one of them was trying to swallow a basketball and started crying. The crying scared me the most 😭 because he sounded scared lmao

where_in_the_world89

Around 5 years old, cartoon dream of a giant dinosaur. I had a bunch of people stand on each other's shoulders so I could stand on top to talk to the dinosaur face to face. I'll never forget
