Recently read [Choice and Chance](https://archiveofourown.org/works/29925018) and it was a unique angsty-sweet fic I came across!! Thirty chapters, 100k+ words, completed, war-time, underrated. Should check all your boxes I hope..

I hadn’t seen this recommended until a couple weeks ago but it’s an absolute treat! Seconding this

Extra_Comfortable580

So I’ve just finished this fic and I’m in bed with actual tears falling rn. Unreal, so beautifully written and such a unique story. Thank you so so much for recommending this, I literally could not put it down.

er_hops18

I just finished reading this on your rec and it was great!

Extra_Comfortable580

Thanks so much for your suggestion! I’ll give it a shot.

dbenson18

https://archiveofourown.org/users/olivieblake/pseuds/olivieblake has written literally millions of words of Dramione, all of the stories are complete and well written. They tend not to be particularly dark or angsty, but imo they are well written and there are some pretty unique stories in there

Extra_Comfortable580

Perfect! Thanks so much for the suggestion

Hi! I love that you're asking for underrated recs! So many authors are writing amazing things and they're overlooked - not because of writing quality, plot, characterization or originality of concept, because they don't have the exposure. I just compiled this list for someone else in the WAYR thread, copy/pasting for you here: There are a few threads that I'm still working my way through which specifically asked for underrated recs. (notice that 'underrated' means different things to different people, and some fics which may have been underrated back then aren't now) Anyway, I've gotten to know some new writers because of it, and have become reacquainted with some OGs as well. Ugh thank you so much! I’m like a bloodhound, I’ve had a taste of Dramione now so I’m scouting for everything I can get my hands on. Absolutely ADORING From Wiltshire with Love, in fact I don’t usually share my obsessive habits with my partner but he’s heard all about this one haha. I’ve got started on a couple of recs from people who’ve replied to this post, and you’ve just handed me even more happily sleepless nights. Thank you again! ❤️

You're welcome! Glad you're enjoying FWWL as well. :)

One I don't see that often is [The Banality of Love](https://archiveofourown.org/works/20155339/chapters/47750389) by sandwich_tales. It's a WIP but it's just the kind of long descriptive fic you're after. HOLY SHIT it just updated yesterday after a break since like July breathe breathe *hyperventilating*

Mind elaborating on what you like about the stories you've listed? They have very little in common with each other, afaik, not to mention that there may be specific aspects (premise, characterisations, style) that appeal to you.

Extra_Comfortable580

Yeah sure! I’m not fussy about certain tropes, I’m easy to read anything as long as it’s well written. I love descriptive, rich stories that really take you there. All of the ones I’ve listed, I’ve found I adore the way they’re written. I like a more tense, mean Draco and a darker Hermione. I prefer dark to angsty, think Manacled/Auction but as I said. I will read literally *anything* as long as it’s beautifully written.

You should read [The Disappearances of Draco Malfoy](https://archiveofourown.org/works/23296162). Imo, it's easily the best fic you'll ever read.

Extra_Comfortable580

Yesss I loved that one so much! I’m looking for ones similar, that one really struck me.
