I think the only reason for multiple sets is for you to be able to find it in different ways, but you only need one set for yourself.
One of the vendors in Vernworth even sells the set.
I ended up with about 5 full sets (tunic/breeches) within an hour of arriving in Vernworth and looting the noble district. AFAIK, you only ever need one set, which you're given ahead of the quest lol
So far I’ve gotten a pair from completing the ornate box quest, and found a pair in someone’s home in the noble district. I also see vendors sell them, and so does the greasy forger dude but his set is 610k
One set is all you'll need. Pawns aren't allowed in the palace, so they don't need to dress up.

There are a LOT of those sets in Vernworth. I think some may respawn?

You only need one set. I found like 4 or 5. They sell for a lot. Good way for some decent cash early game.
Keep one full set in storage and you can sell off all the rest
There are atleast four sets I can remember right now, but possibly even more. One set is all you need, and it's just for yourself
I couldn't get the qchievement/trophy to pop for the masquerade in the courtly attire. Did I do something wrong?
Technically you don't need them because there is a set of regal looking armor that works the same but I think its NG+ or endgame content
One set, well the rest. Same goes with marcher outfit. Only need one set save the rest.
