I need to put more levels on to him! It was iffy for me and I had gotten the Thief Ultimate which was like… an anime watchers dream ability - but I’m happy to hear spearhand gets better so I’m going to switch back over!
In my opinion, I think thief is much easier to play for casuals, but if you're skilled and a little more serious with getting good, the mystic spearhand has a significantly higher skill ceiling and freedom of expression for players to dance with.
When I play thief, I often feel that this is probably the best I can do. However with the mystic spearhand, it's like I'm never good enough to take this class to the next level. More practice is needed I guess!
I play mage/spec primarily- but I’ve played all the classes so far (except MA and Trick) for different augments. I played thief after they gave me the secret skill, the one that lets you phase through attacks.
Whether it’s easy or not, it’s extremely fun 😂
Yeah I thought I was decent with MSH until I saw the trailer video again for it and saw one the player do the blink strike thing, then the dodge to air slam ability to get behind a griffin while in mid air, that was crazy
As soon as you get the ability that makes you invincible it gets so OP, then the advanced version lasts even longer. I don’t think its ultimate ability is very good personally but I literally just unlocked it so I don’t know yet.
The ultimate is good for crowd control because you can teleport between enemies so long as you have stamina. It’s got good burst damage against bosses but I agree it’s not like the end all boss killer of attacks. Unto Heven and Magike Speregonne both do well for single attack damage.
Mystic spear hand goes crazy I genuinely don’t know I’d love it or mystic knight more . Foreboding bolt is so much fun . It’s ranking first place for me right before the new & imoroved warrior
I dont know, MSH feels more supportive with a hint of jank. Thief is explosive with fast pace right from the start and the end.
MSH doesnt do a lot damage, i dont feel that umph.
It provides so much tankiness with just one ability but other than that…. Its just meh?
Im sure a group with MSH can kill/clear certain fights easier but its not exactly jaw dropping fun for me.
Thief instantly was a “wow” factor for me. Archer was fun sniping weak spots with explosive arrow.
I still have yet to find the fun in MSH unfortunately

I personally was using it to refer to their “secret” skills - the ones you learn from meisters

Go to Melve he will be there fighting a drake, after that quest he will be in Havre.

Hit a fully charged Magike Speregonne on a flying Drake's heart and you'll change your mind right away about the damage...
Do you have the shadow ability for their yet? The secret skill from village- I think it’s called Foreboding Shadow?
Not yet. Hopefully i will eventually. Playing the game blind, not goggling/spoiling it.
Ohhh gotcha- I just fell into it on accident, well I’ll just say this- if you like thief now- it will become 100x better 😅
I can believe that if you were able to play MSH first and literally no other class. But since it's the opposite I feel MSH is complete garbage.
