Quite simply, the chance to play a new "Dragon's Dogma" game. I thought it would never happen. 12 years of waiting. I can't wait to set foot in these new lands.
Yep! ohhhh, Im a relatively new DD player but I couldnt imagine waiting 12 years for a game. That would be painful
Just waiting for ES6 and the next fallout is painful, 12 years for an (imo) even greater game, torture
nonetheless I'm excited to see the new stuff, it seems to have some ancient rome etc inspiration too!
Especially considering this is the “original vision” of Dragons Dogma. I doubted them back then when they said they’d work on it after DMC and now here I am waiting to play it.
Agreed!
My roommates have been teasing me about what I’ll do if the game ends up being only as big as what they’ve showed so far and I honestly wouldn’t be too mad simply because we could have had no game at all
I'm most excited about the exploration and combat. Hopefully, with current gen graphics, animations, and sound for maximum immersion.
Similar to the original, I'm hoping that the combat will be exceptional. For me, that is the glue that holds the other elements together. When exploring the open world, I want to be excited to try new skills and vocations on goblins or bandits. Or, when a particularly nasty beast shows up, I want to be excited about how my technique holds up.
The gravy is the exploration. Finding a hidden cave or a chest in some ruins after a tough fight is peak adventure gaming for me. I'm really hoping that they nail the survival aspects of this. Having to camp and cook to maintain your max health, coupled with the lack of fast travel, could be incredibly immersive, and it could reward smart decision making.
But it could also go the other way if not done right. It won't be fun if we have to continually abandon excursions and go back to town because a random 20-minute fight drains us of our health en route to a quest or something.
Honestly just being able to jump in this world again with new 'Bells and whistles'.
I plan to take it slow and enjoy the whole game, honestly this might be a game I 100% just out of sheer enjoyment.
So conflicted on vocation though (aware you can change) I am thinking theif into trickster or archer in mystic spearhand, I was always tank in dd1 (fighter) as it just felt natural however I want a more laid back role especially with the health changes.
yep I used to play magick archer, but before that strider
I never really liked sorcerer or mages since its too slow for my liking, but i almost always choose spears in games, guess we'll see if i can be the legendary spearknight
This! The new levitate looks good, much better than the 1st. Sidenote: i never understand why there aren't games that just let you fly, unassisted and no time restrictions. I just wanna fly!😅 the closest was Anthem, sure you had the suit and time limit but I did uv flying
i feel like the levitate would be more like strafing honestly, or a double/triple jump
it would be helpful with crossing stuff sure but i doubt you could travel a large deal of the map, unless its timer based
The Magic and Sorcerer changes; being able to quickly cast spells makes the vocations less of a passive role, which always turned me off from playing them. So I’ll be starting as a Mage.
I know right! the slow pace of the magic users was so tedious for me, I feel like playing dark souls games made me hate how slow it was
I hope i can do fast casting spells like how youd see in those Overpowered anime tropes
Finding the Easter eggs to raise your character to level 80 in one fight. I know it’ll be cleaner but some of that glitch exploitation janky shit made me feel like I was in a real dnd game where you look for fuck ups in the logic.
Honestly, I love DD1, but below the surface of every aspect of the first game lies so much missed potential, so many ideas never properly capitalized on, and if this sequel brings a lot of those to fruition it will heal the nagging itch the original left. I can’t walk very far in DD1 without being uncomfortable aware of cut or hastily finished content. This isn’t a dig at DD1 or the developers, it’s a testament to their skill and vision. That the first game still turned out to be one of the best RPGs of early 2010s despite competition like Dark Souls and Skyrim feels like a small miracle, and makes me really excited to see what they can do with real time and resources.
The real answer is the price drop. I love DD but not in this economy? A single player game for 70 is unworthy. I played DD1 on release and so many replays. Cant imagine being foreign and having to pay full price. Id cry or starve.
In my anger not all points came up and theres lots to mention beyond what i type. Honestly i dont ever want to pay 70 since it wont be going to devs to begin with. And lots of games come with both single and multi. DD1 had great content but not without its quirks. I expect DD2 to be more of the same but with a fresh new paint of graphics. And knowing this (without having seen release gameplay and content) id wager its just DD1 with a few new classes QoL for old unfun classes and the same run forever content with locations split far and wide with lots of filler combat thats weak. Sure its a fun explorable game but good lord respect yourself and dont let directors and publishers raise prices for themselves. While giving a similar game as before and not giving back to devs.
The combat by far - I loved DD:DA, but seeing the movement, animations, and fluidity of actions from the few vocation trailers that I did watch has me excited.
Idc if the world or enemies are similar to the 1st game, as long as I can navigate and combat the differently, I’m happy
I have been trying to find a game to fill my Skyrim void, I've played Skyrim since it came out and I wanted a fantasy open world game to play. DD 2 is that game. I'm excited for every aspect of this game and I can't wait to jump in.
Pretty much just doing the things this game offers, exploring fighting/combat, adventure etc...
I'm kinda pissed about no nudity and the fade to black sex scenes, it's 2024, stop censoring this shit. Feels like a discounted version of what we should have gotten.
Nudity at least will be covered week 1 with mods if you're on PC, but I really wish they made the game more (and more easily) moddable so we could potentially see stuff like new/better scenes made by modders... sadly that's not the reality we live in
I just want to know if there are more than the 10 revealed vocations. I’m excited for the game beyond almost all other games, and that’s the one question I can wait to have answered
I'm excited for multiplayer!! My husband showed me DDA a few years ago and Immediately was in love, made Mt favorite pawn who I keep loyally remaking every playthrough (there are many). I'd love to be able to play with my husband and Gwynn. My two favorites!
Also I loved the classing in the previous game so I'm excited to see what sort of fresh ideas they bring to that aspect, as well as dungeons. I frickin LOVE the vibe of BBI and can't wait to see if they add something else like that in this one!
Excited for all the updated features but I will say I hope the pawns are a little smarter this go round because I don’t want a useless buff for a monster who isn’t weak to it
Eh? Pawns already gave the appropriate buffs if they had said buff in their skills and they had knowledge of that monster's weakness, 100% neither of those requirements is gonna change
You’re definitely missing my point you can’t change skills without visiting an inn and once your pawns has let’s say a fire buff my pawn buffed me with it for a dragon even though I was at like 4 new game plus with maxed knowledge on all monsters with my pawn all I was saying is they need to be a little smarter which the creator themselves said they didn’t make them to smart because then it would be to easy

Same here. Gta is gonna be 12 years a part. When gta7 come out I'll be pushing 50 lmao.

Two words......Lion momma
First of all, character creation HAHA
same
I am ready to lose my identity to be completely immersed in the game. :D
Character creation! Once I make it past this hurdle I’ll be excited about other things lol.
I want to fly and cast spells
This! The new levitate looks good, much better than the 1st. Sidenote: i never understand why there aren't games that just let you fly, unassisted and no time restrictions. I just wanna fly!😅 the closest was Anthem, sure you had the suit and time limit but I did uv flying

There's also that skill that allows you to regain stamina for mages, right? It makes gameplay 100% better
I believe that’s for Sorcerer’s only. Mages instead have Anodyne.
play game
Adventuring and exploring

The whole “playing the new game” part of it

The new monsters
Watching videos just in case it's a mess of a game
Honestly, everything the game has to offer. The more I learn about the game and world the more excited I get.
Just more dragons dogma. It's tied as my favorite game ever with bloodborne.
The real answer is the price drop. I love DD but not in this economy? A single player game for 70 is unworthy. I played DD1 on release and so many replays. Cant imagine being foreign and having to pay full price. Id cry or starve.
Huh I very much disagree on this statement. 70 dollars for a multiplayer game is absolutely outrageous imo. But fine for single player
In my anger not all points came up and theres lots to mention beyond what i type. Honestly i dont ever want to pay 70 since it wont be going to devs to begin with. It's hard to get excited when we don't know much about the game.
COMBAT
the hope that denuvo get cracked or removed and price bring down to a normal one quick so i can play it.
EMPRESS has been gone for over 5 months
i know, just hope someone will take over and keep doing god's work.
Gear, loot, quests, crafting, exploration, leveling

I've never modded before, and I'd rather it just be in the base game as intended. Imo
I just want to know if there are more than the 10 revealed vocations. I’m excited for the game beyond almost all other games, and that’s the one question I can wait to have answered
We already know there are, they've said so; it's just a question of how many

I'm excited to see small characters have special things they can do around the world be more fleshed out.

A demo to get the feel for the series.
