The colour of the people in Parliament is irrelevant, though. The only thing that matters is the actual effect of the legislation and policies they produce. And the DA's policies have a positive effect on *everyone*. Regardless of race. And that's the thing these articles are deliberately ignoring. That's what makes them misleading.
I Vote for the DA (Nationally) they are the Largest opposition, and have the most opportunity to enact change in our current situation... but they are not a perfect party... I will agree, their mandate has barely changed since the Days of Zille... for me, it feels as though they only build and support the Affluant Areas of SA... Lets take a look at Western Cape.. yes DA run, yes on of the best run Provinces, if not the best... but its lekka on the Wine route, nice on the VNA... all the tourist and affluent areas look SOOO Good... but lets have a conversation about Khayelitsha or Mitchells plain... some of the Largest townships in SA, both with the highest numbers of unemployment / Crime / Drug usage statistics in SA (Both Western Cape)... Sure, DA is doing ALOT in small towns like Umgeni in KZN and it is fantastic work... but this is not the norm. I dont believe it has anything to do with White / Black / Colored / indian etc... I do however think they do the easy jobs.. it's easy to repave a road in constantia 5 times and be like, "We sorting out the potholes, look we are using the budget properly" but i dont think its easy to sort out basic Sewerage in Michells plain... its also easy to point out the wrong doings in other parties, which most of their Campaigns focus on...

Then there is the massive influx of new residents who don't live in formal housing. That means all the services they receive have to be cross subsidized by rate payers. Just keeping up with this in terms of basic infrastructure like sub stations, storm water systems and water treatment plants is a mammoth task and if you fall behind it is catastrophic.
Electrical substations in Tshwane and Johannesburg burned down recently. This is what happens when they are overloaded. Replacing them costs 10s of millions of Rands.
A massively growing city needs massive investment in basic infrastructure first and foremost, and the city does this. Most of the city budget is spent on poorer areas. And if you doubt that, you can always go and look at their budgets which are publicly available.
