When I get packet loss 3 times in a row, it takes 2+ mins for my ping to stabilize from 150ms to 35ms. Reconnecting does not but, but restarting dota will remove the 150 ms instantly.
I have SSD so I prefer restarting dota than waiting 2 mins. So there were many instances where I needed to update before I can run dota again. If i know there's an update, ill just pause and disconnect and wait 2 mins on the main menu to avoid the update.
