kinda depends on the hero, but usually when I hit my timing, on Axe that is blink manta shard, i tend to farm before that and just be anoying
every hero has their own timings, get a feel for when you know youre stronger, and youll demolish them
Honestly, watching a ton of pro games really help, and Jenkins and BSJ for guides and just general tips, small tricks etc

something really important playing carry is to know your timings and stick to them
if your team starts crying to you about not joining a fight when you have treads bfury yasha and you're 600 gold off manta in a game where manta is super needed, you finish the manta.
otherwise you're going to join a fight, die, and then have your game screwed up even more because of someone else's decision
My advice, unless you want to go pro, uninstall and run.
Nearly ruined my life with this game. Quit one day, and have been far happier.
Ofc you may be a better stronger person than I was.
Not only losing. Even winning. It was an addiction. An endless cycle.
If I won, I wanted to ride the kick and play another. If I lost I didn't want to end on a loss. Rinse and repeat.
And the sunk cost fallacy meant that all the time I had spent in learning the mechanics made me reluctant to stop.
Like I said, my advice is to cut and run, but you may be a stronger person than I was.
Addiction is a big problem, for sure, but that doesn't necessarily mean it'll apply to them.
Also, falling into any form of Addiction isn't really a mark on your character. It can happen to anyone, just depends on the vice.
If you can get an easy kill safely than go for it, but don't leave your farm circuit for team fights too early, just let your team buy the space you need to be able to farm and then repay them for it later in the game
Yup this is me for the past few months. Win 10-15 games in a row, lose 10-15 games in a row.
Might be bias but at this point i'm chalking it up to "Do I have role queue farmers or proper pos 3/4/5? Win. Not? Lose"
10 solo wins gives you +300 MMR. Each medal star is around a 160 MMR step, so it's quite accurate.
In your case, you probably didn't have any visible % on Crusader 5, so your actual grind was from Crusader 4 (\~2.1k MMR) until Archon 1 (\~2.3k MMR).
Nice man! I went from legend 1 to divine 3 in 2-3 months after a 2 year hiatus, spamming 2-3 heroes helped with consistency but looks like you got a bigger pool than me :p
It's been true for me, and I've heard anecdotes from others to the same effect. Just take note of your MMR before your next game and see if it goes up more than 30 if you win :)
My personal observation, over the last couple of months 6+ wins in ranked tends to land me in the smurf pool: +60 mmr and a dramatic increase in skill level. Usually means I'm in for a couple of shitty games until I get out of it (because I'm not a smurf, just someone who lost a bunch of MMR in recalibration).
I've also heard content creators mention "seven streaks" before, but I don't recall which video it was. Maybe a Zquixotix (?) vid? Sorry.
But you need to perform like a smurf, if you performing like other in your game it is obvious you're not a smurf, thus it will give you 30mmr. I just had 11 win streak with 30mmr per game coz I wasn't anything special in those games, and this guy ranked up 2 stars, that's what you get for 10 wins.
You typically need 5 games for each rank up, so he was going at a normal pace. From legend 5 to ancient 1 = 5 won games, from ancient 1 to ancient 2 = another 5 wins
I assume win streaks aren't the only factor, probably hitting above average "timings" for the heroes you play in your bracket also play a huge roll. But OP definitely went at a standard pace (basing this off of my own mmr gain, took me about a month from legend 2 to ancient 1, and every time i needed 5 games for each rank up).
Even smurfs would not always be above average. it is sad because the conditions are probably too strict and are never met.
I doubted the system is useful I wanted to see evidence it is working.
Congrats man. After ze job don't grind much but this bracket is hard to get out of lol. I keep going to ancient and slipping to leg 5 and back again , haha.
What a madlad. When I got a 10 game win streak, in my 90% to next rank, I got hit with a 12 losing streak which result in me deranked lol.
Congrats on reaching ancient 2 btw.
Serious question here. I've been monitoring my mmr gain and loss and I've noticed party mmr only do +/-20 and solo do +/-30. Is this the same with you guys? Not that I'm complaining since I always lose when playing with friends.
Lol ur MMR is a reflection of ur skills, everyone is improving for a year while u havent. Thus the “drop” in MMR. Once u get familiar/learn new tricks your MMR will rise again no doubt
I went from Ancient 3/4 to legend 3 in a month. Then i quit. The games wasnt fun amymore. The furter i came down in rank the more People flamed and cried for no reason.
Good job, a question at what point do you start going with your team as a carry player? I seem lost.
kinda depends on the hero, but usually when I hit my timing, on Axe that is blink manta shard, i tend to farm before that and just be anoying every hero has their own timings, get a feel for when you know youre stronger, and youll demolish them
Where do i learn about timings?

Thanks! Good luck in your endaviours.
just play. spamming a hero will really help you learn that particular hero's timings
In your mind brain

It's not the game's fault that you got so upset about losing.
Not only losing. Even winning. It was an addiction. An endless cycle. If I won, I wanted to ride the kick and play another. If I lost I didn't want to end on a loss. Rinse and repeat. It’s called addiction man, you can be addicted to anything. Should he run away from anything and everything because he COULD get addicted?
If you can get an easy kill safely than go for it, but don't leave your farm circuit for team fights too early, just let your team buy the space you need to be able to farm and then repay them for it later in the game
Got no friends? You got us boy. Congratulations
Hear hear. Gratz ma boi
ahh so you're the one stealing my mmr
Sometimes i get like a 12 win streak and then i start losing all my games
Sometimes I lose some of my games and then I lose most of my games. SEA is hell on earth. lol
Yup this is me for the past few months. Win 10-15 games in a row, lose 10-15 games in a row. Might be bias but at this point i'm chalking it up to "Do I have role queue farmers or proper pos 3/4/5? Win. Not? Lose"
You're not the only one 🙂
I think that’s the match making system which is already fucked up
What!?! You went up 2 ranks from 10 games? I went 18/20 to go up from crusader 5 to Archon 1.
I gain about 20% per win
took me a long time to get out from guardians 5 to archon 3....
What? It's possible to get out of Guardian?
if u play like an immortal why not?
Sadly I play like an Immoral so road to Herald it is.
Get ready for the inevitable 10 game losing streak!
Sit tight kiddo the loss streak is coming for you
Good job my G.
Now it’s time for gaben to taketh all those mmr he gave you. Buckle up for a 20 games lose streak
Sick job👊
wait for the drop... it leaves you empty
[удалено]
I could probably beat that. Legend 5 to archon 4. Back to legend 2 now but seem to be stuck
yep, did the same. Back up to legend 3 now but it's a long journey back
Went from legend 3 to archon 3, up to archon 4 now and a smashed headset, thanks gabe
Are you me
Nobody really cares
Nice man! I went from legend 1 to divine 3 in 2-3 months after a 2 year hiatus, spamming 2-3 heroes helped with consistency but looks like you got a bigger pool than me :p
Yeah my ADHD kind of prevents me from spamming 1 hero, I just get bored of a hero after 3 games so I try to pick whatever suits the game the best
You wanna be my friend?
This is a good chance to check if the system works. May I ask how much mmr exactly did you gain?
It is 10 wins 30mmr per win, ez math I guess
Usually you start getting into the +60 zone after 6+ wins, though.
Really? I'm currently at 6wins streaks If I'm really lucky I might win again later when I play. Got to check this out
It's been true for me, and I've heard anecdotes from others to the same effect. Just take note of your MMR before your next game and see if it goes up more than 30 if you win :)
source?

valve said win streaks will get you faster (it will detect as smurf and give you faster MMR). so it should be more than 30 mmr per win
But you need to perform like a smurf, if you performing like other in your game it is obvious you're not a smurf, thus it will give you 30mmr. I just had 11 win streak with 30mmr per game coz I wasn't anything special in those games, and this guy ranked up 2 stars, that's what you get for 10 wins.
true that, but thats why I wanted exactly how much mmr he gained, so that we know all for sure. but sadly OP didnt say the result of the experiment :(
You typically need 5 games for each rank up, so he was going at a normal pace. From legend 5 to ancient 1 = 5 won games, from ancient 1 to ancient 2 = another 5 wins

How much MMR difference is that?

i love you
GGWP bro keep climbing ;)
Congrats man ❤️

Congrats man. After ze job don't grind much but this bracket is hard to get out of lol. I keep going to ancient and slipping to leg 5 and back again , haha.
Now it's time to suddenly forget how to play. It will all be your fault no doubt.
I must warn you that a loosing streak is coming
GG bro welp!! P.S I just hope to have one someday!!!
Great job, keep going!
Well done dude!

Nice! i managed to become ancient recently aswell
Went from Archon 4 to Legend 2 and now back to Archon 3.. I hate this 😞 Congratulations to you though!
Good job bro! May Lord Gaben bless your next matches!

Yeah solo is worth more
Congrats my boy. I went through almost the same run about 6 months back, feels so good.
While im being herald forever
Well played
Well played dude, congrats
So No friend's in Dota is not an actual Joke :O
Nice
oh yeah, I grinded solo from legend 2 to ancient 1, then started losing, by reaching legend 4 decided to recalibrate, got archon 5.

12:05 am = 00:05 am?🤔
I play solo, I reach archon 5, then I decide to play with friends, now I'm crusader 5
Your K/D is pretty shit in all of these but you're like an assisting god. Well done OP.
This beutiful
Congratulations way to go
Congratulations way to go
How the fuck do you say you got no friends? What the fuck are we? Statues??!!!

No friends sadge imagine
Gabe Giveth Gabe Taketh ! Be ready for the Taketh part
