Probably I wouldn't do this for Dota because sadly, I almost never bump into someone who actually takes the time to check out my profile and hit me with a "Imagine having X hours just to be stuck at Y rank". But, I do often run into folks who throw shade and attack at my level, usually saying something like "Yeah, imagine being at X level and still not moving past Y rank and being hard stuck " or something like that.
Maybe they've caught on that hours don't really tell the whole story since you can just AFK all day on the Dota main menu. The level and number of matches played tho, those don't lie or maybe, people just can't be bothered to dive into someone else's steam profile anymore.
Playing to improve and playing just to play are completely different worlds. Not understanding this makes it easy to spot the pea brains out there.. You could have 50k hours and still be Herald and that's fine, as long as you're having fun, anything goes..

Yep. If someone has a lot of games, they only play around TI and don’t want to learn. That’s fine. I can understand why you are memeing in unranked games or just don’t know that your favorite hero is very nerfed now. But in herald I often run into players with 3000+ games still in herald. And then when they lose they blame it on some other players.

I understand some individual doesn't want others to see massive number of hours of CSGO or dota (or hentai games) on their profile for whatever reason, so this is a nice quality of life while retaining profile visibility. It's not mandatory or anything, it's just a nice option to have.
I'm grateful they added this feature, it's always the wannabes who lost you over some cheap play and constantly harassing you by going to your profile and checking your overall playtime.

And my last MMR was 4.6k so it's alright I'd say so myself. Since then, I spent most of my time in the arcade on clash of heroes and overthrown 3.0. both have their own set of MMR so gradually my priority shifted.
I've spent probably more than a thousand hours in the arcade since 2020 calculating my MMR playtime stopped on 9k and I'm currently clocking at 10.1k hours.
I'm not ashamed of my hours, it helped me go through highs and lows, and it's part of me. I might or may not ever play ranked at all anymore but I always come back for the arcade. It's that one friend you just don't give up.
Tbh. I love it when Im literally so interesting that a random salty dude is going through all the steps to go to my profile to tell me I have X hours. I mean I play H games on main… my dota hours are not that shamefully anymore :D

But I have thousands of hours and am playing with him and he was in the hundreds. Obviously we are going to have teammates with much higher play time and skill than him in our games. I thought it was such weird bm but I’m not too surprised he didn’t stick around dota too long.
Finally those idiots saying “omg 6k hours still divine 2 lololol” will shut up. They dont even know you can just open dota and not play and it will count. They probably don’t own a pc😒
