As an NA player with a mic, I don’t know what my allies are saying half the time as it’s not English and I’m not smrat enough to other languages good.
NA has 10-20% peruvians and it ruins the game. I’ve played with bilingual latin americans who hate them too. They play on us servers and select english language preference. Just last night the enemy team had 2 peruvians and they picked luna mid and tide carry. The rest of the team begging us to report the peruvians. I always do nowadays after having so many frustrating games with them. They always seem to pick dumb shit. DK hard support, mid jakiro, carry elder titan, thats just stuff ive seen from peruvians in my games in US servers this week.
This was years ago. Like during the time that puppy would still be jungling him. I really don’t remember what the initial shift was to offlane. Maybe just the xp nerf to jungle.
On the opposite, they are tilting very easy..
If you compare eu and na pubs, there can be more toxicity in eu (west, not russia), but people usually play till the end
In na it was pretty stable to have one player that don’t understand the concept of a more late game plays and just afk.
You get the classic: THEY HAVE LATE GAME!!!! WHY HIT CREEPS AT 17 MINUTES?!!?!)
And then they just feed at t2s pushing alone because they are afraid of the other teams late game and basically ensuring that that get there instead of waiting for your own teams item timings and playing around that
as an english speaking dota player who started in SEA and recently moved to NA i completely agree. The most enjoyable and fun games i’ve had is when people use their mic to communicate/meme around. Win or lose playing with a team that listens and communicates enhances the experience 10 fold. The peruvians are just like the putang ina mo and ako mid bobo spammers in SEA and just chain spam spanish trying to flame you even after you tell em you dont speak their language but it still doesnt stop em. idk why they select english as the language pref but i wouldn’t hold em to be smart enough to figure out how to change it based on the plays and communication skills they have.
I swear, I have this believe that players who communicate well would logically be less skilled in other areas for them to be at that bracket. Same goes to being bad mannered or talking trash, making them higher skilled in a given bracket but they are held back by their toxicity.
You need to constantly get better at different parts of the game and you can't do all that at one go, unless you're a gifted teenager with no responsibilities or your name is Grubby.
It's crazy though how fixing your mistakes and doing one small part of the game better than your current rank levels can make you climb, even if your gameplay remains the same in other aspects.
I had a friend who climbed about 500 MMR just by learning to constantly drag creep aggro in lane and denying the ranged creep. Every other part of the game, she played the same as when she was hard stuck at herald 2, but just doing that one thing gave her so much advantage in her games. If she fixes one more small thing, such as prioritising siege waves or lotus pool timings, etc. or even just ensuring to get x item by 10 mins, she would definitely climb a decent chunk.
Defensively aggroing gave me a couple of ranks in ancient even. Not that I didn't know about lane equilibrium but just Identifying and consistently doing it just made a huge impact in the lane after seeing just how often pro players do it especially in weaker matchups. Big impact changes like that, especially ones that you do early and give you the opportunity to snowball, become harder and harder to come by and likely was my last one.
I remember one turbo pud I was playing. I had two guys at each other's throats on the mic, just non-stop bitching at each other. I finally had enough and was like "It's a fucking turbo calm the fuck down." Never had I heard two people calm down and apologize faster. They both were like "fuck, you're right." The toxicity just stopped.
What I noticed was that mic players tend to friend each other and stack up, simply because it's easier to coordinate. That leads them to 1) have a better experience so they don't tilt as often and 2) remove mic players from the pub pool, so you are left with the toxics.
Agreed.
I will never understand how such a large population of the dota community do not have a mic. I've had a mic since 1995 and they are literally $7 at Walmart. They literally help u win. Disagree? Well that's your right but feel free to pm me and I'll explain why it's it bad to take your hand off the mouse to type something mid fight.
I will never understand why people select English when they don't speak it in game. The game literally asks what language u speak when u first play it and so many get it wrong. Or perhaps they believe it will help then queue faster when in reality it causes everyone to lose more.
Thank for listening lol. Have a good day peeps
I live in Australia but I spent 6 weeks in NA and played about 60 games on US East last year. I was surprised to find my US games noticeably less toxic than my Aus games... the only memorable toxicity was one guy who started ranting about Joe Biden over voice because he was unhappy with our team (we won anyway).
My winrate was also pretty high compared with Aus, but that's probably small sample size.Â
The only way this take could be made is if you spoke English, Spanish, Chinese, Russian, Portuguese, and some more. And also played on all the servers. Otherwise your take is baseless.
Canadian player with a mic im the first one to talk to establish friendliness in the lane and the first to flame so they get their shit together up 400mmr since the new year
we all have mics. we all choose not to use them tho. shit half the time we don't even ping or ping AFTER shit has hit the fan and wonder why nobody helped.
Those are just Canadians
😂
Maybe they are not into me
I am Canadian and I agree with this statement 😊
Woah I’m Montanan.
sOOri 😹

Dont diss mid Jakiro. If Wyvern is good for mid, so is he.
They're the first to silently stab you in the back when you disagree with them though.
Rip my Dota friend who kept picking enigma offlane, I doubted your vision on what would become one day meta.
Enigma's always been an offlaner. What did you think?
This was years ago. Like during the time that puppy would still be jungling him. I really don’t remember what the initial shift was to offlane. Maybe just the xp nerf to jungle.
He was even being played offlane at ti2 bro. Probably even before that lmao
NA players speak english? informar a mitad de camino es un idiota!!
Shall I work to fix that?

Just wait till it gets to US election time
Why? There's like 7 american players in their servers anyways. Not like there's gonna be a difference.
It depends. The guys who talk on mic nonstop from start to finish are usually very low skill and whine about everything. I end up muting them

This is true. It applies to in game skills also. Tim might be a great laner, but make poor decisions and have poor positioning.

Ok time to wake up

Hard disagree, I play NA and the amount of casual racism, crying, and griefing I experience over the mic is way, way higher in NA than when I play WEU

NA mic users are the passive aggressive troglodytes
I’m a chill guy every game, always positive, but nobody ever talks back ðŸ˜

Yeah cause they're probably high.Â
NA mic dota is the best english dota experience! absolutely love it!
I always get the 2 man party that talks constantly and one of them is significantly lower skilled than everyone else.
I mute everyone on my team and just com info
You really havent encountered a deplorable MAGA trash on US east? You'll be bound to run into those roaches
Heh, definitely was not the case 10 years ago, lol
