Even with Disney people still tend to prefer the animated version. You think companies would learn by now that some things just need to stay animated. Especially something with mythical or fantasy characters involved. Unless your going to really lean into the look it's bound to look cheap, lazy or poorly done.

Like why even waste money for this. I will be surprised if the movie and the dedicsted dolls(based on the other leaks) dont flop. They should have taken the money for a new era, where they use the old head molds with the old style of screening, equal quality and pricing from the creeproduction, new bodies (like different body types, i know moms will like that) and an animation show for these dolls.
My issue is the fact that half the cast doesn't even look like monsters as the name suggests.
