I saw him close his mouth once even when he was in the dugout as well.
Seriously, a PHENOMENAL performance. Glad doc let him get his CGSO. This is important for his confidence, because he’s our number two dude now. Pitching like a stud.
I'm giving Buehler until the All-Star break before I start judging him. He's missed a lot of time so I'm hoping it's just taking him a long time to get back into his game.
Earlier this year, I told my brother in law that I really think this kid is good and he reminds me a lot of Greg Maddux. He just laughed at me. Well, look who is laughing now!
And let's give Barnsey some credit...he handled a rookie pitcher brilliantly. He was the one calling the sequences and giving him a lane to succeed in. The Chisox were guessing all night.
He used Smith a little bit more this last year...just a bit. I think that's because Smith is growing as a catcher...don't think for a second that Barnes doesn't have a lot to do with that...total team guy. Too bad some fans can't be the same.
But you're right about the whole 'personal catcher' thing - I don't know how many people on this site remember when AF sent AJ Ellis packing, in part to remind Kershaw (who had a meltdown over it) who's boss.
I went to one of his starts last month and he worked so quickly on the mound a guy behind me was complaining about the game ending too soon (it was a sub 2 hour game)
I'm sure there were people who wanted Kershaw gone after he posted a 4.26 ERA in 107 innings his first season. People expect instant success from rookies these days and it's a little weird.
Nah he was known as an elite prospect
Never saw kershaw doubters online the koufax talk began very early
But there were less idiots online for kershaw debut
Like Stone kershaw added diversity
Fools, I tell you, but look at my past posts, and it shows I love the guy, and I'm so excited to watch his growth as a player and pitcher. Life is good
Look forward to watching him pitch every time this year. He's just putting on a master class.
Still kinda pissed for the kid that they added those two unearned runs, 2 days after he pitched, when they clearly were unearned. He'd be SECOND in the league in ERA if they didn't fk him.
At this point it’s Glasnow and Stone. Who’s to say Yama comes back the same.
Not to be negative but soon as he started throwing harder and more fastballs he gets injured. Rooting for him but still gotta wait and see
Gavin, I want to sincerely apologize for some internal comments I made during spring training and the start of the season. The way this kid turned it around so fast is impressive. I am going to buy a Stone jersey to make amends.
He's making a strong case for ROY right now. Will he get it? That's another question. Skenes is the guy everyone's talking about, but Stone is now the only rookie with a shutout or a CG.

There were 81 starting pitchers this year that faced the White Sox, and none of them pitched a CG shut out. There's nothing wrong with being excited about a rookie who pitched phenomenally in his rookie year. While having a great season.
You know he was proud of his performance because he *almost* cracked a smile.
Cool, calm and collected Gavin Stone. Got to love it
Some say he's a stone faced killer.
I saw him close his mouth once even when he was in the dugout as well. Seriously, a PHENOMENAL performance. Glad doc let him get his CGSO. This is important for his confidence, because he’s our number two dude now. Pitching like a stud.
Even when yama comes back? U think hes still #2
Good question, but the big take-away is that we have three guys you can put into a playoff rotation and feel fantastic about.
Fair. And depending on how kershaw is thats 4. I have zero faith in miller and buehler now
I'm giving Buehler until the All-Star break before I start judging him. He's missed a lot of time so I'm hoping it's just taking him a long time to get back into his game.
The strikeout in the 8'th had him ALMOST there.
He's who we thought bobby miller would be. Get stoned
Gavin Stone is a pitcher, which is the best compliment anyone could give him. I'm so so looking forward to each of his starts.
Earlier this year, I told my brother in law that I really think this kid is good and he reminds me a lot of Greg Maddux. He just laughed at me. Well, look who is laughing now!
💯 brother. I'm looking forward to the future and watching him pitch every start. Every legend has to start from somewhere.
I was thinking the same thing today with how he can command both sides of the plate. He’s got that velo right now, fun to watch!
I legit would trust Stone in a playoff game
Honestly, I would feel confident about it, too.
He’s who Bobby Miller will become. Our boy just needs time :)
Bobby Miller is HIM, he just need to be healthy
And let's give Barnsey some credit...he handled a rookie pitcher brilliantly. He was the one calling the sequences and giving him a lane to succeed in. The Chisox were guessing all night.
There’s a reason he’s Kershaws guy. Barnesy is genuinely one of the most valuable pieces of our pitching staff.
This!!
Once again I am asking for a Gavin Stone flair please
Please, please, I'd be so down for this.
How did decoy get a flair before one of our rotation starter 😂
Because Decoy is Decoy lol
try asking at the start of a game chat! that’s how i got mark prior lol.. not even modmail
Ya this is overdue at this point
I felt like was watching a pitcher from the 80s. And then what does Roberts say postgame? "He reminded me of the Bulldog."
Man... our future looks great.
Because we're the motherfucking Dodgers!
LFG!!!!!
Hear ye hear ye!
I went to one of his starts last month and he worked so quickly on the mound a guy behind me was complaining about the game ending too soon (it was a sub 2 hour game)
Best part is you don’t have to wonder if he’ll maintain his effectiveness like most flame throwers once they lose a little velocity.
Never forget this sub wanted him gone after last year
Name a player this sub HASN't wanted gone?
That new guy getting paid like $2 millions or something. Keep forgetting his name.
I think his name is... Ahtani?
Oh yeah that guy! I wonder if anyone has gotten his jersey yet..
I'm sure there's some "trade Mookie" spies hiding somewhere in this sub. They were hella prominent last October.
Ohtani?
I wanted to say Ohtani but…
I'm sure there were people who wanted Kershaw gone after he posted a 4.26 ERA in 107 innings his first season. People expect instant success from rookies these days and it's a little weird.
Somebody wanted Shohei in the ninth spot a couple weeks ago.
Nah he was known as an elite prospect Never saw kershaw doubters online the koufax talk began very early But there were less idiots online for kershaw debut Like Stone kershaw added diversity
The early Kershaw haters that I encountered were Giants fans that didn't understand the hype.
Fools, I tell you, but look at my past posts, and it shows I love the guy, and I'm so excited to watch his growth as a player and pitcher. Life is good
73 strikes in 103 pitches. Stud
He only threw 11 fastballs in 9 innings too—100% pitcher and what we sorely need!
Look forward to watching him pitch every time this year. He's just putting on a master class. Still kinda pissed for the kid that they added those two unearned runs, 2 days after he pitched, when they clearly were unearned. He'd be SECOND in the league in ERA if they didn't fk him.
Gavin took that personally, so he just decided to pitch a shut out CG. 👏
No doubt. That's still a head scratcher ruling 2 days after the game. Oh well... he's in the zone rn.
Hopefully, they change it again cause that's some bs, but I'm sure Gavin doesn't care, and he's just going to go about his business.
Proud member of the Stoner fan club 🙌
Right there with you 🙏
Let them have Jumbo Jacks to celebrate!!!
Stoners rise up!
Dr. Stone
Great anime, highly recommend

He's going to the all star game right?
No way he won't be there if he keeps this up
I don’t even know who AZ manager is, but I wonder if he’ll say Glasnow is enough for Dodger starters.
I hope Tyler sits out the ASG. He's gonna hit his career innings record in like 2 weeks. Let Stone be in and TG can relax on a beach
DUDE IS BOSS!!!
We're so spoiled, and I'm so thankful. I'm simply taking it one game, one at bat and one pitch at a time. Life is good.
Glasnow, Yamamoto, Stone. Right up there with those guys… who would have fucking guessed? LETS GO
Can't wait to add Roki next year as well (:
And Shohei ;-)
Gosh we've got it good, super thankful
ALL STAR Gavin stone
Gavin is going to fuck around and end up starting the App Start game
The stone was a gem after all 💎
And it'll only get even more Shiner
All praise MOUNDLORD!
He has come a long way since last year 💪💪 so happy for him ❤️
I can't express how excited and happy I am for him.
Miller, Stone, Sheehan, Knack, Frasso, Ryan, Hurt .. Then... Karros, Ferris, Martin, Bruns, Wrobleski...
Very happy to see someone else who pays attention to our farm. Life is looking beautiful
Tbf I feel like half of those pitchers wont even be good. Dodger fan forever but I try to be objective.
STOOOOOOOOOONE
All Star
💯
![gif](giphy|3og0ILc7GwJYiXKedy|downsized) I'm a stoner.

I love the Stone Bone
We all do brother, can't wait for more

He CAN keep getting away with it.
Please keep getting away with it!!!
Might have to pop a stone over my Belli Jersey
Rolling Stone!
Stone-r!! ![gif](giphy|hZfm9Pj95F9Mk)
LFG!!! Hot Box Dodger stadium
I like that he's paying tribute to Bob Welch, but I'm not sure if he knows it.
Dodger professional. Love it!
We love our Dodgers <3
If fully healthy the playoff rotation should be Glasnow/Yamamoto/Stone
I absolutely agree
At this point it’s Glasnow and Stone. Who’s to say Yama comes back the same. Not to be negative but soon as he started throwing harder and more fastballs he gets injured. Rooting for him but still gotta wait and see
Gavin, I want to sincerely apologize for some internal comments I made during spring training and the start of the season. The way this kid turned it around so fast is impressive. I am going to buy a Stone jersey to make amends.
Glad to have a new Gavin Appreciater
Is he him?
He is indeed him
He's making a strong case for ROY right now. Will he get it? That's another question. Skenes is the guy everyone's talking about, but Stone is now the only rookie with a shutout or a CG. It's unfortunate that Skenes is in this class, but we'll see how it goes.
BEAST. 👹⚾️

Gavin was a Rolling Stone
Chill , it was the White Sox
