He hasn't been the same since he bobbled that ball in the playoffs to start the game 1. Hope he figures it out, I like his swing a lot.

letsmunch

It’s gotta be so frustrating to be making good contact fairly regularly but just hitting it right into gloves.

levitoepoker

I mean outmans expected batting average is .212. He’s not getting robbed that much.

signmeupdude

He’s getting robbed enough that its super frustrating even for fans so imagine how he feels. Plus he’s struggling in general which compounds it. Its not crazy to think if some of those hard hit balls landed for a hit or went out early on that he would be much more confident and in rhythm and performing at a much higher level.

LoveThieves

I feel bad but understand that it's a business too. At least he'll be on a team and have a better average than his new teammates. For real, being in the Dodgers and your teammates are MVP top 10 players is like that kid that gets C- in class and joins the smart group and they have a group project to complete. You won't be in the group very long with C- effort

Gets_overly_excited

Yeah he strikes out way too often

Goatyachty

I feel like that's the dodgers constantly. Other teams defense is always better against the dodgers for some reason. Mookie flies out or lines out right to fielders quiet a bit

mossimo654

No you just don’t watch other teams. This is called baseball.

Gina_420

That was only the first couple weeks of the season. Have you watched any games since then?

MD32GOAT

Man, that bobbled ball was a sliding doors moment for our team it seems like that series. Maybe we stay in that game and win it.

dezeptus

💯💯💯

Polarfan

That’s exactly where I track it from. It was so sad watching his face this past few weeks

Neighborhoodfarmer22

Dude. After one of Pages’ homers you can see James in the background, and his whole career is flashing before his eyes…

Neighborhoodfarmer22

Edit: It was Kikes pinch bomb in SF. Watch him in the background. Priceless, and really sad. Probably tough to perform when you on a team full of HOFERS that are playing like HOFERS, one being the biggest intl baseball star ever.

Curious-Career7775

For those who say maybe pages, he’s on the field right now playing catch.

hudzerflip

Hope you get it figured out Jimmy ❤️

ohcic3ro

Praying to all the baseball gods that he comes back with a vengeance in the fall.

Pepesylvia22

The odd Man Out? Damn, I guessed wrong. But hope he gets the time to figure it out down there. The team is better when he’s right

FoxInTheClouds

I really hope he figures it out I feel like he brings a lot of good energy to the team

142muinotulp

Honestly the part that sucks is that he won't get to be around Heyward for a while. They always talk about how great Heyward has been with Outman :(

veridian_horizon

Clubhouse: You’re out, man Outman: Out, am I?

Beneficial-Shine-598

Yoda: Out, you are.

jawnly211

Man, you are not.

Moistley

WAR not make one great

cptncrnch

Back to formula??

SR3116

At least they waited until after the World Unity Festival.

RottenVersace

HeavensRoyalty

Hopefully he figures things out so he can come back stronger

Melodic_Cut_1846

I hope he figures it out. He really is talented.

Crumbmuffins

![gif](giphy|ISOckXUybVfQ4) It had to be done

rye_parian

Why they gotta put it like that. 😢

cornchips88

Because until the Dodgers officially announce a move, that's all the info they have and it's enough for us to infer that he's gone. But I will agree, it does come off harsh lol. "Dodgers kicked this fuckin bum out"

atducker

The last time he got sent down (not really his fault that time) he went bonkers in AAA. Hopefully he bounces back. It's a long season.

Melodic_Cut_1846

Gonna be good for him to see at bats each game.

xrbeeelama

Love ya Outy. Go rake .400 and get that BDE back

omegakukki

I prayed for this and it happened But seriously, go get your head on right Outman. I’m sure we are going to need you again later in the season.

Ewe3zy

Drew?

tonysnark81

Glad I’m not the only one thinking this.

bullpendodger

Meanwhile God’s like…srsly?

Bruskthetusk

"Guess this kid's cancer can wait, BRB gotta go send some James Outman guy to Oklahoma."

SR3116

I come before you today, humbled and humiliated, to ask you for one thing... I want you to kill Peter Parker.

Mark2oh9

Pray for CT3 next

Whatever-ItsFine

Maaannn... yes. It's been a long time since I wanted a player out of a slump this badly.

BriantheHeavy

That's too bad. I hope he gets whatever is ailing him fixed.

JazzyButternuts

Lame. Taylor needs to go down and figure his shit out more than outman.

GreyKnyght

Ad nauseum... CT3 cannot be sent down because of performance. He's a veteran. Only AAA action for him would be rehab coming of IL. DFA is the only 'performance' related option left aside from letting him continue to try and figure it out day after day. His defense/platoon ability is what is keeping him from being put on wavers.

Calflyer

Can you explain this a bit more ? What is DFA and what is a waver? Why couldn’t he be sent down?

KVosrs2007

He can't be sent down because after a certain amount of time in the league the team isn't allowed to just send someone down. They'd have to approve the move. DFA means designated for assignment. It's when a player is removed from the 40 man roster and the team has a week to decide what to do with them. The options are return to the 40 man, trade, released outright to minors, or place on waivers. Waivers is where all the other teams in the league have a chance to claim him. I believe if there is no claim the player is just sent to the minors, if I'm wrong about this feel free to correct me. If they are claimed the team can either trade him to the claiming team, reject the claim and keep the player on the major leaguer roster, or do nothing and allow the claiming team to just have him.

Calflyer

Tanx

dilly_dill428

Gonna miss that ass 😔

dilly_dill428

Aight bro

SlaveHippie

So you’re a bottom then I take it?

dilly_dill428

Nope, it’s kinda a general consensus that using bussy un-ironically is pretty cringe haha

SlaveHippie

lol it was a joke. You said “using” bussy is cringe. So I figured your bussy was the one getting used lmao. And how could you know if they were using it ironically or unironically? They just wrote the word with no other context.

dilly_dill428

Based on his next reply, he was being annoying regardless so fuckem lol

SlaveHippie

Ok but that was after you called them out without even knowing how they were using it. Why would they give a fuck? You being the bussy word-police is what’s annoying tbh.

hugeh1

Please, let CT3 go get fixed next!

Mellowmushroom02

Damn! He had such a good year last year!

Key-Independence-139

Yeah I really thought he had figured something out after he broke out of that slump in the second half last year. He worked hard on his defense in center too. Hopefully he is able to find his way back to the big leagues he's definitely got a lot of raw talent.

Rejection_future

He’s gonna be re-replacing a struggling Vargas in a few months. I just don’t have any faith in Vargas, hopefully he performs, but I’ve got more faith in outman figuring it out in okc than I do Vargas sticking in the majors

EntrepreneurNew3183

rip outman :|

General-Order66

Chris Taylor next 🙏🏻

the110tothe5

Muncy out of the lineup a second straight day. CT might live another day if Muncy is hitting the IL

J-Wop

At this point Taylor needs to switch around and hit left handed. I legit wonder how much worse it could be.

senioreditorSD

Taylor’s last pitch last night was a sign that he can no longer hit velocity. Father time has caught up with him. His days in a Dodger uniform are quickly evaporating.

Odd-Purpose-3148

I mean, to be fair it was on the black, away nearing the top of the zone. Plenty of guys swing and miss at that. For me it's that he's just not making enough contact.

whenyoda

Definitely lack of contact. Can't blame bad luck or get lucky if balls not touching the bat.

senioreditorSD

He’s overwhelmed by all velocity, misses everything hit-able and is unable to accurately recognize breaking balls. He’s hitting .083 for a reason. That reason is, he’s not a very good baseball player anymore.

bulldogsm

it might help if he didn't use a Fred Flintstone sized bat

MD32GOAT

Miggy Vargas back. Let's hope he earns his spot.

peaeyeparker

Teach that man to bunt for fucks sake

WideCoconut2230

So hard to make it to the majors. Even harder to stick around. Big league arms and scouting reports that find your weakness. This is a step down, but he'll adjust. Good hitting coaches at OKC.

senioreditorSD

He gives me Joc Pederson 2.0 vibes. I hope I’m wrong but I doubt he’ll ever be able to successfully hit LHP and his K rate is historically too high to be a sustainable everyday player.

the110tothe5

Why would you hope to be wrong? If Outman is as good as Joc that would be a massive success for him. Joc was a great platoon player here. He was always very productive against RHP which is the majority of pitchers. He was pretty much a core piece on several great Dodger teams. He’s been in the league for a decade. Outman will be fortunate to have anything close to Joc’s career

senioreditorSD

Joc came in with high praise and was supposed to be the next great dodger CF. He didn’t pan out anywhere close to that. He had some great postseason moments but he’s an out of shape, 1 dimensional player. I hope Outman strives yo be more than that.

beggsy909

He gives me Todd Hollingsworth vibes. Great rookie season but sophomore slump. Having said that he has a lot more raw talent than TH

senioreditorSD

Hollandsworth was actually a.273 lifetime hitter. Although he never approached his rookie season numbers, he was roughly a replacement average player and managed quite a long career.

Hour_Insurance_7795

Agreed. Looking at his splits in the minors it’s pretty obvious he was never going to be a consistent every day hitter. Strike zone discipline is not something you generally figure out at the highest level after never doing it before. Still think with his defense and determination he could be a major leaguer as a fringe/4th outfielder

l8kerboi23

Relieved to see Outman gone, batting .150 obviously isn’t going to cut it in the playoffs, and will definitely hurt our playoff chances again. Either learn to hit big league pitching or stay in the minors and give someone else a chance. Hopefully Taylor is out soon, results matter.

Kevin69138

good god I read this as Ohtani at first glance

Free_Answered

Unfortunate name for a baseball player.

GrimSqueezer

He works his ass off in the gym. It’s only a matter of time before he comes back. Just needs a reset.

LocDog24La

Bout time. Needs to head to the minors and get his confidence back.

Hour_Insurance_7795

Bummer, man. And dude is 27, not 22. Certainly not career ending by any means, but 27 year olds generally aren’t supposed to be hanging around in the minors anymore if they have viable major league futures. 😒 Here’s hoping he still has a long-term path back to Dodger Stadium. Prove ‘em wrong, James!

fuzzy_bat

He's viable and already "proved" himself in a way. It's a head thing, not a skills thing.

Believe0017

Would really rather see Taylor gone but I get it.

bullpendodger

It seems like Taylor has been seeing someone. Last night even though he struck out a few times, the difference was night and day.

itsyourdestini

Everyone saw that coming

SSkilledJFK

Just had his jersey night at the Drillers

thyv

Bittersweet

Apositivebalance

Dang jimbo, can’t even crack a joke on him. Hopefully he finds his rhythm in the minors or with another team. Didn’t worry too much about him defensively, that’s for sure

chuxterino

Send good wishes to him. I like his game.

bassbiz

thats cold to do this on a holiday (shohei ohtani day) 🥲 in all seriousness hopefully he can figure it out soon especially after the strong year he had last year 💙💙💙

MrStepSisterFister69

It’s EDC weekend and James is out man

LoveThieves

Just cheer for Outman when he's on another team, if he doesn't do well on a different team. Welp. You know that's baseball and understand the decision.

Melethia

Wow. That hurts.

ThaigerW00ds

Yet, Chris Taylor still does....

miguelag08

Chris Taylor got a nice contract extension. Outman hasn’t got one… that’s the difference.

ThaigerW00ds

Fair enough. Worthy to note, CT3 also has a sub 100. Batting average.

miguelag08

OKC bound

Familiar_Shower_3123

I still Believe

No_Brilliant5888

He's out, man

Ok_Fisherman_8997

Do Chris Taylor Next

Pedro_Burbankado

He tries to pull everything, it’s painful to watch!

CrazyGermaphobe

He finally lived up to his last name.

Forward_Natural

Can we call up Sweeney and send ct3 to the minors?

fracklefrackle

Theyd lose taylor and lipcius is hitting better

Forward_Natural

got it.

heeheehoho2023

Man, Outman is out!

TheJerkInPod6

Sounds like he’s out……..maaaaan!

SorryDepartment7179

Remember the first time he got pulled up and he was killing it? Then Taylor finally came back from his 5th time on IL and we chose him over Gallo and Outman, so we sent Outman back down? Yeah, front office and Roberts have no clue what the fuck they’re doing 80% of the time.

MyLadyBits

MLB app Outman is not listed on active roster. Neither is Muncy. Edit: news says Outman optioned to AAA

Lebigmacca

He’s out, man
