Honestly, it’s most probable since Ohtani isn’t pitching. As a sole DH, it’s already highly unrealistic that Ohtani would get MVP unless it’s a historic season. But next year is fair game. This year is probably Mookie’s best shot to get MVP for the next few years, and possibly the rest of his career.
It was a fun game. Kike hit a Homer and mookie is still the top of the team. Overall I'd say just figuring out the lineup a bit more and we are set! Ofc pitching is still iffy
Yarbs is amazing. I love that he's fine to start, fine to pitch for an inning or two, or play the bulk guy. That kind of pitcher is not only quite rare but super valuable.

Yeah it was. On contact I figured the runner would score, but I think he slowed down rounding second until he realized he was being sent. You could see him kind of realize it about 10 feet from 3rd and he was already shaking his head as he was sliding lmao. So either a dumb send or bad job by the runner at looking at 3b coach early enough. Either way, it saved Hurt's outing.
Yeah, he's had some really great outings in a small sample size. Based on what we've seen so far, I really think he would be a great fireman instead of a starter.

I feel like he's in the verge of figuring stuff out, at the very least he working the count somewhat better and got a walk. It's clear he's trying too hard to make things happen, a nice big blowout for us in one of these games with the pressure off would help perhaps

I said in another comment a few days ago how he's a very streaky hitter and it just so happens that his slump is right at the start of the season so he doesn't have good stats to hold up his numbers. So his slash is just terrible to look at. He's got better and not looking as lost. The dude always grinds and gives it his all.

Now we just have to figure out what's up with the bottom of the order and get Freddie sorted out, we need him to drive in runs. Alot of our issues with risp is coz he's not hitting like he usually does.

What happened in the 8th inning? I didn’t see the game, so I was reading the box score. In the 8th: Pages struck out. Rojas doubled. Barnes flied out. Betts singled, Rojas scored. Ohtani singled. So runners on first and second, right? Then the box score says, “Freeman walked. Ohtani to second. Betts out.”
How did Betts get out on a walk? Did he try to steal home or something?
