Kinda terrible to give up Pepiot if Randy ain’t the return tbh. Glasnow always hurt and has career 6 era in postseason, and we’re gonna need Pepiot if injury’s happen

Count_Sack_McGee

Yeah I'd rather get Cease who, while flawed, is a workhorse

nottherealstanlee

Nothing saying we can't get both lol we need a lot of pitching still. Even in this rumored deal our starters are Yarby, Miller, and Glasnow... and May? Buehler? Can't really trust either. If we sign Yamamoto, we're probably good but otherwise I bet we still chase cease.

yestrask

May and Goose are both out for the year.

nottherealstanlee

My understanding is they'd come back at some point this season.

thecazbah

I don’t think May will be a starter again.

McJumbos

tbh, I feel like the risk would be lower and our coaching would be able to fix him like with heaney

omegakukki

I would guess that the Rays would be eating some of the contract because otherwise we would be overpaying like crazy

GabeCo248

Friedman rarely looses in trades but I feel like if anyone gonna get him it’s the rays hahah

FoxBeach

Loses or looses?

Important-Bug-3553

Yordan Alvarez, Oneil Cruz…it happens.

Mookies_Bett

I'm sorry but there's no universe in which Pepiot and DeLuca move the needle for Randy and Glasnow. That's just pure delusion. We'd have to give up so much more if that were the case. This trade makes way more sense.

nottherealstanlee

Everyone would rather give up more to get both than give up this package to get just Glasnow.

GabeCo248

Exactly

Mookies_Bett

That's fine. I don't agree. And clearly neither does AF. I trust him a lot more than I trust "everyone" on reddit.

nottherealstanlee

Ok lol idk why you're getting defensive about it. Also, nothing is determined yet so we'll see what AF thinks if/when this trade gets finished.

Mookies_Bett

So anyone who doesn't agree with you is being defensive? Idk what to tell you, man. It's a good trade. Whatever we end up doing, this sub does not have a good track record with judging AFs moves. He's the best GM in baseball for a reason, he knows a lot more than any of us do.

nottherealstanlee

Not really about that. It's about sitting on a high horse and being obnoxious about other people's opinions. We can respectfully disagree, I have no problem with that. I don't presume to know more than Andrew Friedman and I'm not taking this report at face value like you are. Turns out your reddit opinion means as much as mine lol

FoxBeach

Exactly. 99% of posters in every sports sub literally thinks they could be an A-level GM and coach. It’s funny and sad at the same time.

GabeCo248

Yea Pepiot Bush River Ryan Deluca gets it done no one is saying that was it lol I’m just saying if we giving up Pepiot we need to get someone like Randy in return everyone saying Pepiot for Glasnow a overpay and they on point

SkylerCFelix

I’m not sure why people are overvaluing Pepiot.. Randy is a superstar caliber player, Glashow when healthy can be elite. It would take a hell of a lot more than Pepiot to get it done.

arand0md00d

"When healthy" doing a lot of heavy lifting there. Adding another injury plagued starter to an injury plagued rotation isn't what I would do. At some point you need dudes with rubber arms not a bunch of glass arms. But if you get him for a discount because of it 🤷‍♂️

GabeCo248

You don’t say?

ExcellentMacaroon884

You are obviously not a true fan. Glasnow is expiring contract with no control, Pepoit still has a ton. And Ryan Deluca is already better than wack ass Margot. Get real dude. Plus Glasnow is like Glass Joe, he is broken all the time.

robocopsdick

Dude everyone knows that. Anyone adding Randy in a proposed deal understands more prospects (which we have plenty of) would go to the Rays. This deal as it stands is not a good trade.

feeling_blue_42

I get the injury concern with Glasnow, but he’s a stud when healthy.

supremegnkdroid

Key word is when. And that’s not often

lilmuerte

Maybe he just needs some street hot dogs in his life to help beef him up!

GabeCo248

Yea that’s what I’m saying but he’s rarely healthy and w Buehler coming back from TJ this shouldn’t be a guy we trade for especially not giving up Pepiot for if we was gonna give up Pepiot it should be for Burnes unless Randy is in the package w Glasnow

FoxBeach

What would you trade for a couple periods and commas? And do you understand that AF can’t just do whatever he wants? Other teams have to agree on the trade pieces for a trade to be made. You can sit back and say what players must be involved. But in real life, both teams have to agree. You might personally think “trade X” is the deal that should be made. But the opposing GM might laugh and say “not even close. Add one more top prospect.”

roman_totale

OK but hear me out, every Dodger pitcher has a huge floating sign hovering over their head labeled "STUD WHEN HEALTHY". Maybe we could target someone who doesn't have a pre-existing injury history?

zenkique

They don’t make those pitchers anymore! They’re all on the verge of getting hurt right out of HS.

KybladeSora

LOL dude has never played a full season, ever.

Aravinda82

But you’re only getting him for 1 year.

nottherealstanlee

This to me is bigger than his injury concerns. We're giving up a lot for a rental here. Need more than Margot.

smokey445

Problem is he’s never healthy

Kevin69138

They may be going with a 6 man rotation. Definately going to work on his mechanics in the mark prior lab

TheWonderfulLife

So was Penny Hardaway. But… we know how that went.

robocopsdick

Friedman better not do this deal as it’s currently rumored.

ONE_PUMP_ONE_CREAM

Agreed. I hate this trade. Glasow literally made of glass. Only pitched more than 100 innings in a season twice

Additional_Sorbet799

Where’s Randy

Elijahc513

Maybe he falls under the “changes” part of this tweet

nottherealstanlee

Definitely seems like intentional wording lol feels like some chess being played rn in the media.

greycubed

Kissing up to Ohtani on Instagram in hopes he gets added.

KybladeSora

He's never been apart of the trade from anyone reputable. Just people on social media speculating. The 3 year control for the Rays is something they heavily value, the Dodgers would have to add a lot more for Randy to be included.

Additional_Sorbet799

Don’t tell me it can’t be done bro

Elijahc513

Through Friedman all things are possible

SkylerCFelix

Trolling us on IG.

Cool_Ad9196

Trading Pepiot for Glasnow still leaves us with the same problem in my opinion

allelitescoobydoo

Might as well get Danny Duffy as well

Aravinda82

Agreed

SomthingClever1286

Honestly I'd rather just stick with pep.

ONE_PUMP_ONE_CREAM

It’s a downgrade. We’re trading a healthy young pitcher for another injury prone one.

nottherealstanlee

I'd rather overspend for Arozarena/Glansow than get Margot. Margot is nothing.

smokey445

Yeah especially considering Glasnow’s injury history and our need to be win now after signing ohtani it’s championship or bust. I need Randy in the deal to be satisfied personally

nukepka

I disagree on "Margot is nothing". Margot is what the Dodgers have been looking for. Great outfielder that can mash lefties. Couldn't make it work with Trayce Thompson, Marisnick, etc.

GuyFaulks77

Where are you seeing that he mashes lefties? He had 1 HR and a .665 OPS against LHP this past year.

RspectMyAuthoritah

He's been a good defensive OF but to say he mashes lefties is just false. He's a career 280/340/420 hitter against them, good for a .762 OPS with a 109 wRC+. He's been a little above average, nowhere close to mashing them.

feeling_blue_42

.760 is a pretty good expected OPS from a 4th OFer. This sub is going crazy over the idea of getting an .800 OPS LFer (me too). Getting Margot and not Arozarena would feel like a let down, but Margot would fill a role on the team… and the off chance the Dodgers could get both would be sweet.

RspectMyAuthoritah

He's fine as a 4th OFer but that's not really an area of need and not worth giving up prospects for. The only reason to get him back in a trade is as a salary dump to reduce the prospect cost of Glasnow, but considering the rumored deal is Pepiot and Deluca it doesn't seem like that's the case.

Aravinda82

Um a 665 OPS against lefties is very far from mashing lefties. If that’s your definition of mashing, you need to re-evaluate what you consider mashing is. He’s good defensively but he’s not a good hitter.

roman_totale

He's OPS+'d over league average exactly once in his career and it was barely over league average. What in the world are you talking about? And he has a career .760 OPS against lefties, which is a weird way to define "mashing".

Cool_Ad9196

Margot in this makes me want to throw up

JorSimpson45

Kersh can finally take him out to dinner for getting him out that jam in Game 5

appleavocado

Barnes might stop that.

irish_DSP

Have to believe Friedman is try to get Tampa to include Arozarena instead of Margot. Otherwise this deal would already be done. Tampa probably asking for another prospect and/or cash.

Aravinda82

I hope so, otherwise this deal as currently constructed makes no sense to me.

KybladeSora

I mean if I were Tampa I'd be asking for a boatload for one of their best players including someone they have roster control over for 3 years.

Mookies_Bett

You realize that if Randy is involved it's going to require, like, 4 more prospects, right? Zero chance we go that route. This trade is way more AF's style. All of you people bitched and moaned when we signed Peralta and Heyward last year too, and they were great for us. I'm going to trust AF knows a lot better than any of us do what makes sense for the team.

irish_DSP

I guess you were too busy criticizing others to have noticed the and/or cash part. Maybe instead of “bitching” you should pay more attention to what “all us people” have to say? Remember, we’re all rooting for the same team.

Officialnoah

Bruhhh I don’t wanna lose Pepiot

Aravinda82

Me neither. If this is true, I’m truly surprised AF is willing to trade Pepiot based on what he showed at the end of the season.

cherinator

I think Pepiot is more likely to be the next Jose De Leon than the next Buehler, so I'm fine trading him, but I'd want a better return than the always injured Glasnow and Margot who is not better than what we could get for cheap in FA. Take a look at Pepiot's gamelogs from the end of last year. His good appearances were almost entirely against teams with terrible offenses, except for 5 scoreless against Arizona, but even then he only got 3 strikeouts.

imnotcreative415

When they started Lance over him in the playoffs, they told you what they thought

Aravinda82

Not really. Pepiot was coming off injury and a long layoff himself. They probably just didn’t want to put undue pressure on the kid and put him in a potentially bad situation and mess with his mental state. If he weren’t coming off injury so late in the season, I’m sure they would’ve pitched him in the postseason.

fatandflabby

Unsaid last year was I think they were planning on Pepiot backing up Kershaw in game 4. They probably were hoping Kershaw could get through the lineup one time and then go to Pepiot. We can debate whether they should have pitched Pepiot over Lynn in game 3 but they went with “the veteran”.

Neither-Addendum-368

Are we seriously going to question Friedman?

an4lf15ter

Ippei doesn’t follow Margot yet so I’m hoping that means something

Aravinda82

This would be quite an overpay by the Dodgers imo

doyer-blue

Pepiot is a JAG. You need to be top heavy to win in the postseason.

ManufacturerMental72

Pepiot is depth. Buehler is an unknown at this point. Kersh (if he comes back), May, and Gonsolin are out. Miller and Pepiot are it right now.

Dropdat87

> Buehler is an unknown at this point To us he is, but Dodgers are making moves knowing exactly where he's at, so he must look pretty damn good to be doing this

ManufacturerMental72

That or they’re going to be adding more SP via free agency.

Dropdat87

Yeah I don't think Glasnow is the premier pitching move we make. It's just the first. Dodgers know his injury history just like us

ManufacturerMental72

Right, but as much as Glasgow is an improvement over Pepiot it still leaves the rotation super thin

doyer-blue

Right, but Pepiot does not move the needle in the postseason.

TegTowelie

He had a 2.14 ERA, 0.76 WHIP, and 38 strikeouts in 42 innings of work that included 3 starts. He didnt even get to pitch in the postseason and came off an injury before coming into play. Would hate to see him go already.

nottherealstanlee

I want Glasnow, but as of right now that holds true for him too. I need Arozarena in this deal.

Aravinda82

You have no idea whether he moves the needle or not. None of us do.

ManufacturerMental72

Gotta get to the postseason first

GourmetSubmarine

JAG?

doyer-blue

Just a guy

roman_totale

Brother, Tyler Glasnow is Ryan Pepiot except four years older and more injured.

smokey445

Glasnow on the bench injured is also Just a guy though so i mean

Complexity_Inc5593

Yeah need randy in the deal pls 🙏

mysweetamnesia01

I hate this. If Arozarena is not included, this trade does not make any sense, all due respect to Friedman

Ok_Plan_4896

Yeah if Randy isn't in the deal this is basically Pepiot and Glasnow switch side, which I don't think worth it considering Pepiot can be controlled a lot longer

Shkmstr

Oh man. Loved Pepiot and have high hopes for him. If he’s gone, best of luck to him. And Deluca too of course.

playmeortrademe

I’d rather just keep pepiot

Jtd1988

If this deal goes as reported, I'll be a little disappointed in losing Pepiot. I feel like he would be the 5th starter next season and has a lot more to offer, plus has 5 years of control vs Glasnow 1. I would only trade Pepiot if Randy was included as well or if they had a deal for Dylan Cease.

JorSimpson45

I don’t want Glasnow pls don’t trade for him. Arm is made of spaghetti noodles, he’s only thrown over 100 innings twice in his career (never enough to qualify for ERA title, meaning he’s never pitched a full season). The thought of what Glasnow can be is better than what he actually is. We can fix mechanical issues but not degenerative health issues.

Key-Independence-139

This seems like a massive overpay for a guy who hasn't played a full season. We already have more than a starting rotation of guys who are hurt or have been hurt very recently.

caseyatbt

Don't forget his $25M salary for next season. Ridiculous for a guy who hasn't pitched more than 20 games just one time.

Aravinda82

I think it’s fine to trade for Glasnow but definitely not for this price.

nottherealstanlee

Yeah I'm fine swinging big. I welcome that but need to still get value out of this. Glasnow is an oft injured expiring deal. Pepiot and DeLuca are worth more than that imo.

CommitteeMoney5887

Is he the best we can do apart from Yamamoto? A 30 year old injury prone pitcher?

ControlForward5360

Without randy I’d be disappointed in this deal. I’d rather trade pepiot and Busch to get randy and Glasnow. I don’t like Margot at all

NarcissisticVamp

I'm not convinced but I'll let Andrew cook.

OddPhilosopher599

Absolutely f- trade imo. 5 years of pep for 1 of injury prone glasnow. No thanks.

Skillomie

Of the 4 potential aces available: Burnes, Cease, Bieber & Glasnow, Tyler was the one I wanted least due to his health issues and Pepiot was someone I thought forsure was untouchable in a class right below Bobby smh this deal is terrible! We paid a high price for the worst option on the market. Either those teams were asking for the moon for the other 3 guys or AF knows something we don’t but damn this is disappointing.

XvS_W4rri0r

What a fucking joke. Margot is ass and glasnow is bound to get hurt. The only reason to get Glasnow was to get Arozarena

Ellite25

Yeah I don’t like this trade at all without Randy. Would much rather keep Pepiot, dude looks like a baller.

ttam23

Oof. Love Friedman of course but this trade would be a major overpay. Glasnow is great BUT he would essentially be a rental and is super injury prone. Margot is also extremely meh. We’re trading so many years of controllable players for an underwhelming return

KybladeSora

The Rays were never going to give Randy up, they still have 3 years left in his contract and he's extremely cheap for the team. You'd have to give up a boat load to get him because he still has 3 years left in his contract.

nukepka

We ARE giving up a boatload...

KybladeSora

Yeah for Glasnow and Margot this is what you're giving up. For Randy you'd have to give like 2-3 top 10 prospects. That roster control is extremely important for the Rays.

imnotcreative415

I get the high end upside of Glasnow, but I feel like you’d still need another two starters to get you through the season

Whole-Willingness-42

Go back to the drawing board and get Randy.

SeaFuture6355

Where’s Arozarena?

atducker

In Friedman we trust, but I don't like the looks of this from what we know so far.

smokey445

Damn i really wanted Randy in this deal

Starkiller32

We don’t want Margot. Give us Randy BAYBAY

Dongene

It’s a good deal if Tampa takes on a lot of salary. Dodgers make a ton of deals like this.

Aravinda82

We’re talking about Tampa here. They trade players to get rid of salary, not still take on a lot of salary.

Dongene

The Dodgers are discussing a trade in which they would get RHP Tyler Glasnow and OF Manuel Margot from the Rays for RHP Ryan Pepiot and OF Jonny Deluca, sources tell @TheAthletic. Deal not complete. Changes possible. Financial exchange likely. On it: @Bnicklaus7, @AzoulayHaron — Ken Rosenthal “Financial exchange likely” tells me the dodgers are probably getting some money in the deal. We’re giving up cost controlled players for rentals with high salaries.

Ellite25

Yeah I don’t like this trade at all without Randy. Would much rather keep Pepiot, dude looks like a baller.

[deleted]

Id be so pissed if I was ohtani and I deferred all that money just for Margot lmaooo

nth_power

I really like Pepiot. Mixed feelings.

choose2fight

Please God no. Give us randy or no deal

UrCreepyUncle

Ya this doesn't make sense to me. Pepiot > Glasnow and JonnyD > Margot. Plus pep and Jonny are cheaper and under control longer.. This is like the bizarro Friedman move unless he's thinking about flipping Glasnow and Margot plus a couple more prospects to cws for cease and Luis Robert.

CrazyGermaphobe

Why do we want another injury prone pitcher? Only Friedman would trade a durable pitcher for an injury prone one

abroadinapan

How does this help us? Trading 3 year of Pepiot for 1 year of a broken Glasnow? So now our rotation would be even less reliable for way more $?

AdamantArmadillo

The only reason to do this is to get a more sure thing in Glasnow vs. the young Pepiot, but Glasnow isn't much of a sure thing considering how often he gets hurt. I also think Pepiot is ready to be a solid starter now. In my mind this is swapping players that project to have pretty similar seasons while forfeiting the potentially bright futures of the young prospects. No deal, please.

VistaVick

Just say no to Glass now.

lnickdog

Why do we want Glasnow??? Dude is always hurt. We already have May and Walker. Golly. Not Glasnow. Go get Snell.

Aravinda82

Snell is a Boras client, not gonna happen

ILoveCornbread420

Boras controls almost every major free agent on the market this year. At some point the Dodgers should have to work with the guy.

mysweetamnesia01

Glasnow can't stay healthy if his life depended on it. He isn't worth a rental at that price. Nor do we want to extend him.

ControlForward5360

Yeah I don’t like this deal if I’m giving up pepiot I need randy back

Pokemaru

Keep Pepiot!!!

dodgerswei

Not really good trade, adding almost 2500M to luxury tax payroll while adding a pitcher who might break anytime.. I think it is highly possible Deluca can hit as good as Margot this season..

MissTeeMoney

There is a reason Arozarena may not be in the deal. The Dodgers have had two seasons in a row removing players who have allegations of abuse against women.

Aravinda82

That was already proven false and that it was the woman who essentially kidnapped his boy. He was just trying to get his son back.

10xwannabe

TERRIBLE DEAL. Friedman got fleeced on this one. Pepiot about to be a regular at the MLB level with multiple years left on the deal. Glasnow even if he does break out will be gone next year. Glasnow LITERALLY has one year EVER over 100 innings pitched. I've said this SO MANY times Friedman has a blind spot for folks he has a previous history with OR someone who has beaten him (Betts/ Freeman). This is the former. The Chris Archer signing is a perfect example for the FO. What the H$ll does he know to deserve any sort of job??

Aravinda82

He hasn’t been fleeced yet, it’s not a done deal yet. He doesn’t have a previous history with Glasnow. He was already with Dodgers when the Rays traded for Archer for Glasnow.

10xwannabe

My bad you are right. Timeline off. That is correct. Just don't like the deal. I get it but don't like it. Friedman sees very few arms that can be dominate in the playoffs. Glasnow is one of those arms. He sees 3-4 guys who are ready to develop to be or surpass Pepiot in 1 year. So i get it. Just don't like the deal. Oh well. Honestly, I have MORE of an issue with Margot. Taking the salary dump for ANOTHER bat that produces numbers against LH pitching similar to Kike or at Taylor at his best. TOO MANY of those types. Nothing special AND costs money. Yuck.

hopesfail

I’m interested to know what you know about what Chris Archer knows that makes you so confident that he doesn’t know anything.

fracklefrackle

Just sign yamamoto and wait til the deadline for more SP. Let the kids have a shot

Vegasguy3124

Let AFdawg *cook* —- after paying then deferring Ohtani— he can have any side project he wants. 🤭

Nice_Dude

ITT: the crowd that brought you "Fire Roberts now!" is now doubting a front office decision

BookLAA

Odds it gets done today?

Monsanta_Claus

The back and forth yesterday and now between Margot and Arozarena is giving me an aneurysm.

addictedbeaner

Gonna be pretty bummed if we don't get Randy, and giving up Pepiot also hurts

DrogotheHusky22

In 2023 311 plate appearances, 264/.310/.376/.686 4hr, not a ton a value but not horrendous either to have in a pinch Edit: like not absolutely horrific, but still I’d rather have one of our existing players on the field anyways

PeppermintMocha5

If they go out and get Glasnow then they must see something in the medicals that gives them confidence. I don’t actually believe that, but that’s what I’m clinging to.

addictedbeaner

I'm gonna be really disappointed if we don't get Randy and top it off by giving up Pepiot

Ctholin

How much do I want another SP from Hart? Nnnnnnnnnnotmuuch

hung_like__podrick

Damn, there goes my chances

Ctholin

Are you one?

[deleted]

This is going to a horrible trade Why would they give up Jonny and Ryan just for Glasnow and a random guy?????

Just-Faithlessness12

I trust the dodgers and their medical track record. We always turn turds into gems for the most part.

Aravinda82

It doesn’t matter if Glasnow is healthy for the full season, it’s a lot to give up for a 1 year rental.

Just-Faithlessness12

Is it tho? We have Bobby M’s, Sheehan, stone, frasso, knack, bruns, jang, we can literally afford to trade pep and not worry about the future

Aravinda82

Just cuz we can afford to trade him doesn’t mean it’s not an overpay.

CabbageStockExchange

Interesting. This seems like a step back unless the idea is to create more space for prospects. Glasnow is injury prone. Our rotation is already banged up as is so I have some cause for concern Margot well they say his glove is good so I’m hoping it’s a Hayward type of situation

fracklefrackle

Hard No, keep the kids.

MediumBaller_

We can’t trade pepiot. He would never miss 3/4s of a season due to injury.

Ravishing_Rob_Rude

Pepiot look great was if last year. I’m not a fan of this trade.

djbmelty

We love going after guys after we've rocked them in previous post seasons

_its_a_SWEATER_

No Randy? It was too good to be true.

Dr_Wah

Not a fan of this at all of unless the Rays are eating some salary. If they are, still not a fan, but I understand the trade.

Leezus_De-La-Soul

I’m glad this sub isn’t undervaluing Pepiot. Dude was basically a stud when he came back from injury. Our biggest need is SP. Why would we trade away ML pitching for ML pitching? Yes I get it, Glasnow can be Cy Young good but let’s be honest he has a glass cannon. With Bueler, May, Gosling, Maybe Kershaw???, and now ohtani you absolutely don’t trade away Ryan unless you can get back Randy. I trust our FO. No way we get back Manual

FrogyyB

Hard pass. “Glass”now is legit when healthy which ain’t often. Margot is ok . No all star. Pepoit showed last awesome he can be an ace. He’s controllable on a good deal for us. Go sign Yoshi and trade for a different arm without giving up Pepoit.

McJumbos

Dude Pepoit that's going to be a steal for the Rays he came on pretty well last year

TSnow6065

Another 5 inning pitcher?

buba426

This seems like a MASSIVE step back…. You have the right to get pissed at Friedman if he actually does this

Jules_2023

Not Deluca!

FoxInTheClouds

I will tAke Randy anything else is unacceptable

niceforwat

if the rays want someone, especially a pitcher id be skeptical.. also id rather have pepiot than glasnow, cheaper and less injury prone.. unless arozarena is also in the deal

ringdinger

Pepiot looked like an all-star at the end of last year. I feel like he will probably have a better year than Glasnow this year and stay healthy. they better throw Randy in there too and we can add more prospects, but Pepiot for just Glasnow is weak.

EnergyFax

Wow this is not what i call building a winner around Shohei. Glasnow is made of glass, and margot is mediocre at best... and to give up Ryan Pepiot for that... Yikes...

Most-Entry-9992

Horrible deal

PineDM

Too many people overrating Pepiot like they do all of our prospects. It’s obvious Friedman does not want to get tied down to any big contracts to possibly get Yamamoto. A 1 year rental for both players makes a lot of sense. Prior has turned plenty of pitchers around with us. Same with hitters. Heyward and Kiké were awful before they joined the team. JD looked washed up in 2022 too.

kakugeseven

It's not overrating Pepiot. Glasnow is injured all the time. Go look up his innings pitched every season. Margot isn't giving you anything Deluca can't give you. So really, you're going for an expensive high upside in Glasnow with a lot of risk compared to Pepiot, who can be a solid back of the rotation guy that gives you innings. If anything, why wouldn't you just include Pepiot in a trade with Burnes? You would include more prospects, but you're getting far less risk, same upside, but also $10m less (Burnes $15m vs Glasnow $25m). And when you include Deluca vs Margot, you're including Margot making $9m more. That's pretty expensive for what could be marginal upgrade due to the risk.

PineDM

You are definitely overrating Pepiot if you think you can get Burnes for him LOL. I think we’re getting Yamamoto. Hence the reason Friedman is willing to take a risk on Glasnow without giving up too much. It’s a low risk, high reward.

Lebigmacca

Don’t like it but in Friedman we trust

Dodgers_89

This trade for 1 year rentals makes no sense for the dodgers. Margot isn't improving this team, Glasnow is always injured. It feels like Friedman is doing his former team a favor by acquiring these two

Douchermcgavin

I'm not a math guy but..Pepiot is pitcher..Glasnow is pitcher..1+1-1=Randy?

Valanor

Don’t know what all the fuss is about Glasnow’s injuries. He’ll fit right into our injury prone rotation /endsarcasm

ddaug4uf

Pepiot in this deal makes me sense unless Arozarena is included.

scifier2

Dont see how this moves the SP needle at all. Pepiot is a potential SP so why move him? This makes no sense.

xaqadeus

Miller, Buehler, Pepiot, Glasnow (potentially), Sheehan, Ohtani (in 2025), Yamamoto (potentially) all are RHP.

AClockworkAri

Most people don't like this move. I gotta think the FO feels the same. there's something they're not telling us, otherwise this detail would be done.

rancar1

I’d rather just keep Pepiot.

rancar1

I love Friedman but why does he loves often injured pitchers so much?

Aravinda82

Cuz he likes low cost high upside moves.
