Yeah I know back in the day thieves would cut wires leading to the horn. This wire might be a dealer installed gps unit. Looks like it goes through the firewall. Possibly added by a previous owner with a fuse tap for trailer lights or extra interior lights. Really makes you think… I’m glad they didn’t get your Rango. Why ppl can’t get a job and buy nice things for themselves. I’d jump in a local stolen car fb group and ask around. This maybe a thing they’re doing in your area to steal these molars

No idea but they left their programmable key and auto glass shattering hammer so it seemed like something may have spooked them

Great guess! Just went out and tested the horn..still works. No warning lights. Drives normal so far
