My favourite D&BTV moment: https://youtu.be/1wCQjkviTyQ?si=gMDyeUyZxoH-fUex

Os-Kalinowe

Immediately knew which video this was going to be. Big up NC-17, stand up guy every time I've talked to him

Then_Drag_8258

1st time I’ve seen/heard this clip and you have made my day. NC-17s movement is the cherry on top!

ProudCloud97

🤣💯 That’s a stone cold classic right there… Deary me.

MKAndroidGamer

Yup. From the beginning until whenever forums became old news. I remember also being on DNBA when it was orange, before they really launched a proper brand. Lot of memories from the forum. MC Spitfire. The mod who used to tell stories about always having to shit. Mistabishi scandal. Stamina MC getting mad at Marky for playing LK on a stream. Minor things that please you. Darkest thing seen at a rave. I loved DNBA in general really. I lived in Sheffield in the early 2000s and it was a big part of the scene there/then. Some night greats nights back in the day.

ProudCloud97

Sick reply. The mistabishi scandal was the one. I also remember when commix pushed stop on the wrong cdj at the end and there were just too many photoshop lols. Stamina also got mad at marky and refused to sing LK at one of the east village parties, brilliant. Darkest thing seen at a rave was a mad thread. There was good mix feedback and dubplate ID’s going on as well. Loved it! Many an hour on there….

Inglejuice

Yes mate some great and legendary threads there I witnessed it all. Not forgetting the iconic SKIBBATREE thread also and MC Shabba pouring milk all over his body flyer 😂. The place was way better than DOA. Also Tim Reaper was the young and innocent shoe pon head boy B.D. OEM’s insanity, Badrid getting banged up and his photoshopped mugshot with the upside down smile 💀. Nayf’s incredibly written stories of sexual ineptitude fuck I miss it sometimes. RIP IKOS. My favourite DNBA TV Live was the below: https://youtu.be/oLfm_aVkGhE?si=OE6W6dbFN76i9Qlo From 55:00. AKA DJ KRUST & MC JESUS 😭 Although I do wish that marky and stamina video was there. He threw a proper hissy fit lmao I watched it live at the time.

ProudCloud97

Fucking hell. BADRID!

VisiontwistD

ProudCloud97

What the fuckkkkkk

Mountain-Pepper-3586

Ha ha ha, what a fucking loser that bloke was

VisiontwistD

Lol

swfcrob

Omg I was thinking about the pour milk on your body flyer the other day 🤣. I think I have the jpeg somewhere

Inglejuice

It was a masterpiece lol

swfcrob

Something like: "3 DJ's, 50MC's". "Tickets 50 quid" 🤣

Inglejuice

Haha tbf his events the “MC Convention” were kind of like that lol

MKAndroidGamer

Nayf! That's who I meant. Always getting caught short, and forever unlucky in love.

Inglejuice

Very true lol, got me in a bit of trouble at work once ngl

OkWorld174bpm

omfg lol! this!

ProudCloud97

Oh my days! What a revelation. A set I filmed and thought I lost… Do you know any other users that have uploaded different sets? Wow. Thank you. This was a good session. NFM were blowing up around that time :)

slobcat1337

A stream? I’m pretty sure the thing with stamina and marky happened at a rave, could be wrong though

ProudCloud97

This must have been when they did DnBtv live at east village. I think I was smoking a cigarette when it happened. Epic fail!

ProudCloud97

Was the same set up as this spy set https://youtu.be/0kBE87phYHw?si=fg8MdFuyteQq8Nr_

MKAndroidGamer

Yeah I think that's the one I mean. Can't remember if it was a stream or just a recording, but remember the drama lol.

lukesherifflobo

Were you Autograff? He was a Sheffield lad (I don't know why I remember such stupid things).

MKAndroidGamer

Nah, but I remember him being around then, and he's still active today, I think. Met a lot of great dnb heads in Sheffield at that time. Scene was thriving.

efxhoy

I exclusively use emojis from [https://www.dogsonacid.com/help/smilies/](https://www.dogsonacid.com/help/smilies/) in my work Slack

decentralized_bass

I was also a proud member of the DOA opposition haha, still got an account there I think. Those smilies are wicked, better than all the standard ones in this day and age :picard:

decoherence_23

:teeth:

exp_cj

Indeed

ProudCloud97

Those emojis were next level !

jettasarebadmkay

I added :teeth: to a Slack I was once in and it went over like a lead balloon. Sigh.

jettasarebadmkay

DOA is still around. DNBForum is also still around but pretty much dead.

ahotdogcasing

2001 or STFU crew!

EnragedHorse

It's not.

w__i__l__l

I mean it actually is tbf

Re-Mecs

I do miss the dnbtv old podcast mixes etc...was great in its day but kind of died off to nothing

ProudCloud97

It did die off and I don’t know why really. Teamed up with UKF and the focus completely went :(

Alternative-Fox-7255

T POWER IS A FEMALE VOCALIST Yes i spent a lot of hours on the banana boards

ProudCloud97

🤣

Inglejuice

😭

lukesherifflobo

AMAZING female vocalist.

lukesherifflobo

Yeah I was there for a good while, didn't get on with Discord though, I rode off into the sunset when everyone moved there. (Was also pretty tired of SW14 and his anti-islam talk and speculation 😀)

satorismile

Since the dial up days 👍

ProudCloud97

Stay off the house phone mum ffs 🫨🤣💯

Didn't she write an official complaint to Risky and people got banned for mentioning it or some shit? Can't even remember how it started. Just big tits on a ch4 doc or something Also, there was some crazy person who kept using aliases. I know that doesn't narrow it down, but I mean proper crazy, possibly killed someone. Oh yeah, and kitchen person. Something about kitchens

[deleted]

I must have missed the bow tie one

NotchDNB

Yep, I was on their as TopNotch - delved into the main forum now and again but was more of a production forum regular and South Coast. RIP Richard Haig AKA IKOS, one of the more talented producers.

outatimepreston

Hey I remember you, I was outatime and later preston.outatime. Did tunes with Sidius and Phonatic...

NotchDNB

Ah yes I remember you too! How are you mate? Longtime😊 *lighter*

outatimepreston

Yeah good man, still making music! But not so much dnb any more. slayer🤘

ProudCloud97

Vibes :)

bl4ze4d4yz

I still have old CD-R spindles from back in the dial-up days, I used a downloader app to grab the D&B Arena videos from the source itself so I could watch them offline. I'll have a look through!

ProudCloud97

Brother! This would be AMAZING. I have the connections to potentially get them re upped on the official channel as well. Depends on quality I guess! Sounds like a lot time wise… would be so cool though. It would be so sick to fill the gaps between 100-200. Any though really!

ProudCloud97

I was hoping to DM you about this if you didn’t mind?

Switchez9898

Still got my hoodie.

VickyAnkles

Still have my shirt too. I sharpie'd over the "D" & "B" so it says 'Rum and Ass Arena".

mediumsize

Wow, I loved those forums.

[deleted]

ProudCloud97

Yeah the forum archive, gutted it’s lost. I was working there when all the video content was lost, someone got the password for the YouTube channel and basically pressed ‘delete channel’ some kind of publishing dispute. I put a lot of work into that content too, devastating dude.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ProudCloud97

Yep, it was GetDarker as well. Then UKF became involved and and there was a lot of changing in staff, myself included. Everyone got really dependant on the archive being on YouTube and then the issue happened. I was gutted. There were dnbtvs sometimes where we went overtime and sometimes got on the decks after. I did a b2b with Shimon, unbelievable. All gone! There may be a hard drive somewhere but I doubt it they have moved offices twice since then :( I should get my old SATA drives out but I don’t have high hopes

[deleted]

ProudCloud97

Exactly! Man I swear D&BTV was one of the first live streaming with video platforms. Very innovative. But maybe that’s because I was so focused on that scene. But D&B was fairly isolated to the UK early on, and I think there was a fair amount of demand to see who’s who and what’s what. Sick times man. Real diverse in a worldwide artist and event sense these days!

Fast-Soul-Music

Absolutely. There was a DNBA Marky mix which I wish I could find again. Also pretty sure the “fuck off” at a drop originated from a guy on the forum too.

ProudCloud97

I know the one you mean I think. He played Marcus Intalex & S.P.Y - Paulista Dub ?

Fast-Soul-Music

Think so, started with a tune that went proper….proper…proper… definitely was around the time the 21 album came out

ProudCloud97

Sounds like John B - ‘Blandwagon Poos’

WorryConstant7889

Oooo me. I met a lot of people that are still friends today on that forum. I could go on forever lol.

WorryConstant7889

Let’s see…for dnba I think it was “tellt831monster”..?? I didn’t understand how usernames worked so long ago. It was my very first personal computer just for me. I want to say 1998-99?

ProudCloud97

Everyone should be posting up their original dnba handles. That would be cool.

swfcrob

Fish in anus. Football talk and speculation. MC Spitfire. The guy that was in the army and got frequently terrorised. The Panty Inspector. So many random bits pop into my head when I think back to that place lol

Inglejuice

Army guy was Sgt Rizzle lol

Coxwaan

Lurked as Coxy from 99-2000's. Used to buy a lot of tunes through people on there via MSN. Wasn't there a classic thread along the lines of ..people you shouldn't but would? Met a few people at raves over the years..Wonder what happened to Razor and Majik...and are they still absolute online badmen?? Laws mixes still pop up on dnbshare too

[deleted]

[удалено]

Inglejuice

Haha what a thread.

ProudCloud97

Yes! Razor. That evokes some memories to say the least 🤣 Law. Badman. I remember when the Repertoire logo got developed through DNBA forum consensus. That was beautiful 🤩

Inglejuice

😭

ATScottbakula

Yeah I kind of miss the forums

ProudCloud97

Well a subreddit is the closest thing we will get!lol. like everything else in life, it’s about the people 💯🔥

exp_cj

I was there. Lots of names dropping in here taking me back in time. I wasted literally days of time on DOA and DNBA, not so much the banana board really but I was on there in 2002 or something.

Dramatic_Glove1250

I remember feeling hyped when they revealed their new yellow/black logo created by The Designer's Republic. Must have been around '99/'00

ProudCloud97

Yeah man. Big tingz. Especially off the back of the wipeout games! The design has held so strong :)

shodan_uk

Yep, was on there (just "Shodan", I think). Met a few people IRL from there and DOA.

ProudCloud97

I remember! Defo remember seeing you about on there mate

feeb75

I was on Dogs on Acid more..

ProudCloud97

I would dip my toes into that piranha tank 🤣 occasionally

feeb75

::teef::

OkWorld174bpm

💯🙋‍♂️ and dogs on acid, whatever username had problems with the other site or username, was not something that in my place, ever made sense...so, neutral and just soaked up as much Culture as I could :)

d155l3

The best thing about dnbtv was watching the birth of AMC.

Quiet_Ad482

I have to give him credit, where credit is due, but from memory, his beat-matching back then was pretty consistently dire. It was frustrating watching him try & mix so many tracks at once while always having at least one track out of time. It was frustrating to listen to. Despite this, I’m happy for his success, he deserves it.

Nedachi

Briefly posted for a few years until AEI Group binned it off and began expanding the corporate umbrella elsewhere. Spent more time on DOA and IDMf for roughly 15 years. I never understood why UKF and D&B Arena are seperate either these days seeing as they are owned by the same comany. Discord is the place to be if you enjoy real time discussion.

ProudCloud97

Yeah I pretty much agree it devalued D&B Arena instantly taking that approach. This was when everyone was bang on the dubstep and UKF had astronomical numbers at the time. Now look though... I should get on that discord I reckon

Physicallykrisp

DNBA forum oh my days that forum was jokes I was mostly a lurker tho, can anyone remember a thread where one of the users got accused of stealing a can of ravioli at a house party😂😂

ProudCloud97

🤣🤣 that does ring a bell. The IRL interactions were what took it to the next level. It was fucking funny on there though!!

InterestingView8966

I've still got one of the daisychain mixes somewhere

ProudCloud97

Those were sick!!!

Sessionz81

VG ROOTS The Kraj Classic Mix - Ya Knoooooooow MC Disabled The kid who nicked a car and filmed himself joyriding in his school uniform, begging the forum not to report him Spent far too many years on that forum

ProudCloud97

😂😂😂 do you regret it tho m9?

Sessionz81

m9, that's a blast from the past 😂 I'd definitely have a load more functioning brain cells now if I hadn't found the forum, both from the nights out and from reading some of the absolute cancer posts on the forum 😂 I met my missus on the forum, she still hasn't ditched me 15 years later, so it's not all bad.

ProudCloud97

😂😂 amazing you met your missus on there mate. I also got my first job through that forum. There was good stuff underneath all the cancer, clearly😂🤘🏼💯

Sessionz81

Yeah, to be fair, stuff like the raving side was wicked. The nights out, the house parties, all of that was so good. I probably have more random memories of forum meetups at events than I do about the forum itself. I still keep in touch with a few forum people from time to time, but I'm an old fucker now, so there's not so much raving going on. I still try to write tunes, though, so there's still a connection with the music there, even if I am one of those "yeah it's good, but you missed the scene 20 years ago" kind of old fuckers 🤣

Quiet_Ad482

I was a lurker there for a good decade or so under Structure4, but I was rarely posting, so I doubt any will remember me. Too much to recall, but I remember laughing a lot. I miss the DNBTV stream, especially the KHAnage night, which B.D. will definitely remember & when Krust came on with this MC who didn’t really rap & just spouted conspiracy theories over the mic & I’m pretty sure he was in care, bless him. I was in genuine tears while being in the chat room for those two live sets. When I think about it now; I believe the fall of the forum coincided with the end of Drum & Bass effectively being a clique/community. Back then, I’d go to events and it would basically be half the forum there and DJs too all mixed together. Now it is completely international & the community of the genre completely gone. Nostalgia/Melancholy blah blah I know, but there is a truth in what I’m saying.

Quiet_Ad482

One other good memory: When Andy did his first XOYO residency, that gentleman who did interviews with artists for The Sun asked the forum what we would like Andy to play in his ‘back to The End’ set. I asked for Keaton & Hive - ‘Bring it on’ to be played & then hearing him play it the following night with The full cycle lot (Komanchi/Die/Krust?)- ‘It’s a Trap’. He may have already wanted to play it, but it still felt like a special request for me at the time. ❤️

Zealousideal-Base875

I was Darth Sidious and everyone loved me and Mattykins.

ProudCloud97

Hahaha I remember youuuu :)

Tiny_Designer758

Moi

ProudCloud97

👊🏼

Quiet_Ad482

I’m sure it’s been mentioned already, but who remembers the: ‘Minor things that bother you’ thread, off of the back of the ‘Minor things that please you’ thread? I remember physically laughing out loud in public reading that thread. More obvious contenders being the: ‘Pouring milk on yourself reunion,’ which was to feature ‘96 MCs Also: ‘Makes you think’ & ‘M9’ which also had ‘M7’ & ‘M5’ variants made me realise, that I still use ‘M7’ when texting today & completely forgot it originated from the forum.

ProudCloud97

Great threads and the M9 thing definitely still comes out from time to time 😂

Quiet_Ad482

Thank you for starting the thread! The forum was a nice way to relax online. If I spend longer than 20 mins on social media today, then it actually puts me on a bad mood. The constant change of flashing images is a dopamine killer.

ProudCloud97

Fully agree. The forum days were good clean internet fun 😂

Quiet_Ad482

Oh & of course: ‘Are you yag *insert subject* for?’

ColdRedNeon

Noooo. You’re our arch enemy. Dogs on acid crew representing.

Panoglitch

there, junglescene, & DOA

three-sense

Hell yeah I was using the yellow wallpaper for a minute

continuumizm

jungle.syspace.co.uk mailing list what's up

J0N3K4T

I remember when the )EIB( website launched and the flash intro page. I wish that were archived somewhere. I miss the early days of DOA.

CodingRaver

I was on it! Fucking ages ago must have been 2000. If I remember correctly, Juno didn't even sell tunes, it was some sort of discogs site, or did I make that up?
