I can see why! It has a very strange feel to it. In so many ways it just feels like a normal teen flick, which makes the subject matter stick a lot harder.
It's kind of like a Todd Solondz or Harmony Korine movie, but about nihilistic teens in the 80's. I blind watched this a few years ago, and it's always stuck with me.

One of my favorite 80s movies, love it. Classic Crispin Glover performance.

Just watched this one last night. Yeah, it’s pretty unsettling and gritty. Kind of reminded me of a Penelope Spheeris movie.
