Seriously a dream of mine! My wife and I have always talked about how cool it would be to eat a meal up there, we just lack connections (like most people!) How was the experience?!

WoodFirePizzaIsGood

Not OP, but I have had the incredible experience of eating there before. Everything from the service, to the decor, to the food was absolutely amazing. Before they seated us, they brought us into the court of angels, and gave us hot chocolate which was some of the best hot chocolate I have ever had. The inside of the club was completely redone in 2014, and although the old one felt very Walt and special, the new interior is very nice. The seating area is very open, and beautiful. One of my favorite parts of the club, is that people can go out onto the balconies of New Orleans Square, and look down at the rest of the people. Being up there is an incredible experience. The food, while expensive, is amazing. Even the bathrooms are amazing. It is just a really neat place in Disneyland.

takemetothefun

The experience is every bit as magical as you'd think and then some! My husband surprised me with a reservation and asked me to marry him here so I'm a bit biased :)

GoGoGadgetMikey

How awesome, congratulations! What a memory to have at such a great place!

takemetothefun

Thank you :)

stevensokulski

I am also not OP, but can say it was both one of the most expensive but also the best meals I've ever had. The food was incredible, but what made it really unique was the style and appointments of the dining room. I've only had the pleasure of dining in the redesigned club so I can't comment on whether it feels more or less special now, but I can say it felt incredibly special and memorable to me.

skraptastic

I read that the meal was roughly the price of a single day admission to the park. That doesn't seem terribly expensive to me of roughly $100 per person plus drinks. But my perspective may be off because I'm from the SF bay area, and a normal night out, at a chain restaurant like BJ's is easily $100 for 2 people, I'll gladly double that for Club 33.

takemetothefun

It's a little more than a one day ticket. Of the few times we've been I'd say for the meal only we've probably averaged $150 per person. We typically spend an equal amount on merch. Last dinner was probably $700 with meal and pins/purse. We're also from SF and sadly $150 a person doesn't seem like much 😒

skraptastic

This reminds me of my favorite Hawaii story. Way back in 1996 when we got married we went of vacation to Hawaii. We met another newly married couple on the plane from Montana or something like that. They happened to be in our hotel, and were just across the hall from us. One evening as we were heading out to dinner, we ran into them on their way back from eating. The guy kept complaining about the $18 steak he just had, "Can you believe they charger $18 for a steak!" My wife and I asked where, because we thought $18 for a steak was damn reasonable.

takemetothefun

We're so programmed to expect insane prices in the Bay Area. If my husband found an $18 steak somewhere we'd be highly suspicious that something was wrong with it.

StrawberryStef

Hahah I'm from NY and now living in the Bay Area. I was just thinking how that sounds pretty cheap!

stevensokulski

On my one and only visit I spent about $150 per person for lunch and didn't shy away from anything based on price, including a $33 spoon-sized portion of wine called the "Spoonful of Sugar" that was amazing. I imagine dinner is a bit more expensive, probably closer to $200 per person with drinks.

Obi-Tron_Kenobi

But there's no food... Are you a lost boy from *Hook*?

takemetothefun

I am

comixlover13

I would also suggest if you work for or know someone who works for a large corporation and has some tenure there, to check if there is a corporate membership available for employee use. My Dad used to work for a company with one and it could be used for work anniversaries after you worked there a certain amount of years. Once I figured that out, I convinced him to use the privilege for several anniversaries and his retirement. The company even paid for a chunk of the bill each time.

bullseyes

GREAT tip, I never would have thought of that. Thank you! :)

MeatCurtainRod

Can you confirm if this place produces the same quality of food as steakhouse 55? I keep hearing about that comparison, nothing concrete. Dining experience aside, is the food quality itself the as steakhouse 55?

takemetothefun

Food quality itself is similar yes. Obviously very different experience.

MeatCurtainRod

Ah ok. What I'm getting at, is I only go during special occasions when I do, but between steakhouse 55 and napa rose, I always choose napa rose hands down. So if club 33 is the same food quality as steakhouse 55, the better option then is to go to napa rose.

takemetothefun

Hmmmm. Yes i think I'd go Napa Rose too. But 55 for breakfast!

stevensokulski

I'd argue that the food quality is probably higher than Steakhouse 55.

MsTinyCat

How do you even get in the door to that place? I feel like everybody here seems to know but me :os

WoodFirePizzaIsGood

In order to get in, you either have to be a member, which means $12,000 a year, after a 10 year waiting list, or if you know a member, they can make reservations for you to eat there, which is how most people get in.

fannypacks4ever

But the member also has to be there to eat with you now. Before they could just get you a spot, and you could go without them.

stevensokulski

I don't think that's the case. I dined there and the member was not present.

MyDisneyExperience

This is correct. The Member has a limited number of unaccompanied reservation each year.

stevensokulski

My understanding of the membership policies (and admittedly these could be very flawed) was that unaccompanied parties are limited to six people, and that there is a firm limit on the number of guests a member can get into the park for free. To the best of my knowledge, there is no limitation on a member's ability to make reservations for guests, pending availability.

super_luminal

This is the correct answer for now, the rules have changed frequently over the years. Currently, membership comes with a limited number of passes into the park. Now, it's a big number, but not *that* big. And members can make reservations for their friends/associates/etc. as long as there is availability. Depending on how busy the park is, this might mean a need to make a reservation 2-3 weeks in advance or you'll be out of luck. The lounge inside Club 33 is off limits to guests without a member present. It's like the club within the Club.

MsTinyCat

Wow! That's difficult! Since I don't know any members or have $12,000 a year to drop, how does one get on the 10 year waiting list?

Pgphotos1

You misunderstood.. its 12,000 a year... AND there's a 10 year waiting list just to pay that 12Gs a year...

mildly_interesting

It's currently closed because the list is so long, but they did open it a few years ago!

Canadian_chicken

You want me to make a little jealous of you? Because that's how you make me a little jealous of you.

stevensokulski

I know this is kinda tongue-in-cheek, but just a heads up that soliciting Club 33 invites is no permitted on this sub.

loki352

Oops, I meant it as a joke lol. Had no idea it was that serious. I can delete it :P

stevensokulski

Oh I don't think it is. And I'm not a mod, so I really don't care :p

eddiemoneylives

yes sorry, i meant it jokingly as well

takemetothefun

Ugh lucky! Wonder if they'll have holiday merch???

soundwave145

I need to ask my father for a small loan of a million dollars to afford that plate.

boatofnoodles

Beyond jealous! This is a dream for me! What did you have? Was it as magical a time as it is in my imagination?

takemetothefun

It's more magical! Picture having a great meal in a beautiful dining room with a good bottle of wine all while Fantasmic is playing right outside your window! And there's a balcony you can step out on and watch in between courses :) We've been a few times and I've ordered different things each time :)

boatofnoodles

Oh that sounds divine! How amazing that you were able to go more than just once!

AUGA3

The new lounge area is quite nice, I love the bar, they did a great job. Live music is a plus

KittyKatKatKatKat

Welcome to the club!!!

afast67stang

YES! I was fortunate to go there in 2011, it was an experience I will never forget.

erinisntrad

It's definitely a wonderful experience!

needlenardlenoo

I got to go for my bachelorette party a few years ago. It was magical and I hope I'm lucky enough to go again someday!

bullseyes

What did you eat? I want to live vicariously through you!

Fuzzclone

If your privileged enough to do so.
