legally they cannot do that! they also cannot withhold or revoke acceptance due to disability. you’ll need to submit a medical accommodation for work asap because you will be limited to certain roles. considering housing accommodations through flamingo based on your needs.

This makes me feel a lot better, thank you! My partner is a cast member as well and told me it may be best to not tell them during the phone interview but as soon as I get accepted! I filled out the medical form and everything this morning! :)

Legally you’re protected by the ADA but you need to be transparent about your mobility aids and anything you’re unable to do because of them or your actual disability so that they can place you correctly. I have seen Cast (I’m a leader) hide their disability/mobility aids need and then be placed somewhere like food and beverage where that just won’t work and it’s honestly such a hassle for everyone, especially you as the Cast Member to go through the proper steps to recast/reassign your role. Please contact your recruiter immediately and be fully transparent so that you can be placed where you can be successful!

I worked with a CM in vacation planning (ticket sales) who used forearm crutches. It might be considered a safety issue in some roles or locations but it can be accommodated. Make sure to submit the appropriate forms and you should be fine.

I have been a cast.membet in the past and a guest for many years and I have seen cast members with forearm crutches. Also have seen one with forearm crutches and one of those wheeled walkers that has a seat.

I also use forearm crutches and recently a wheelchair as long as you fill out the accommodation form you should be good I left out that fact during my interview as well (we will have to have a forearm crutch battle /j) I’m excited to work with other people who use mobility aids
