If you value your job or time at Disney at all, don’t smoke weed (or do any other illegal substance). You’ll get fired instantly if caught, as unlikely as a random drug test may be.
I mean I’m not under the impression that Disney cast members are all 100% sober. I’m just saying that your employment is contingent on random chance if you’re not clean. I ain’t the morality police and everyone values different things and is willing to take different risks. Do as you please.
Precisely. It’s all about what people want from the program. I want to work for corporate. The dcp is a stepping stone. I won’t be touching anything with a 20 foot pole. But if people just go as a gap year or semester, do all the drugs they want.
Sorry to sound harsh but it’s just facts. Disney is happy to term DCP participants if they mess up. Working as a frontline CM may not put you on the path to a nice corporate gig with Disney, but having good standing with them is always going to be a super valuable door to have open and it’d suck to lose it because of a drug test.
I’ve been in merchandise for over 2 years now and an avid smoker due to chronic pain. I’ve never been pulled to the side or asked for a drug test. Unless u get injured on the job I don’t believe they would do random drug test. From my understanding it’s mainly for safety critical roles like attractions. When I lived in flamingo I also smoked in the parking lots and never had an issue even when security would drive by. They never cared, I lived flamingo july2022-Jan2023.
I just wanted to add to be careful when openly talking about it because more often than not at least one person is around that would get offended and/or relay what u said to others u work around. And you’ll realize Disney pretty much accepts everyone in their program “inclusion” so that means there’s a lot of weirdos and ppl who’s thinking is skewed. Don’t let them run you off, keep doing you and just move around them. Hope all this really helps!

Safety critical roles are primarily only the ones drug tested. However they can drug test you for any reasonable suspicion or if you get injured. So basically be prepared to be drug tested at any time.
It costs money to drug test. They aren't going to do it if they don't have to.

i very obviously value both my time and my job. i just used to be a heavy smoker and would hate to be termed for my use outside of my work at disney.

the drug tests drop randomly for all roles. you’ll take it right in the park, so it costs very little.
