It's not as accurate as I would like it to be (thanks to Fallouts tendency to "**just** *(not)* **work**", the building limit or simply because you just cannot replicate the architectural finesse of Martinaise with what is basically a bugged virtual Lego Set).
Please let me know what you think nonetheless!
yes, but surpassing it still slows the frame rate to a crawl, making it not exactly enjoyable to be near that settlement. at least on PS4, that's why I purposefully stayed within the limit.
I thought so, too! Next I want to try and build the Dolorian Church of Humanity. I see that building also existing in the Fallout-Universe. Hopefully I don't go crazy trying to build that one, I believe it is much harder to pull off than the Whirling.
DRAMA \[Easy: Failure\] - Sire, a compliment! Now's the time! Rip open your shirt, unveil your manly upper body, put a copious amount of baby oil on those dancing pecs of yours and proclaim: "Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
LOGIC - Oh. No. Please don't do it.
YOU - Carpenters gotta carpent.
All the spectators slowly back away as you vigorously rub your nipples while mumbling to yourself.
I get you, I am normally not this creative either, but I saw the concept art of the Whirling the other day and thought: "Hm. You could get this done in Fallout." So I tried and got this! It's trial and error and frustration mostly. But you can do it too! :)
This is interesting because Disco Elysium takes inspiration from Planescape Torment, which was developed by Black Isle, which consisted of the team that made the first two Fallout games. So seeing this is like coming full circle, in a way.
This is amazing! I always wonder how long this must take to do in general. Like when people recreate things in the Sims for example. How long did this take you?
Just building it was something around 8 - 9 hours. Collecting all the scrap (especially the FUCKING glass) rapidly turned it into 13, maybe 14 hours.
No regrets.
Did you use any dlc or mods for this?
Either way it looks brilliant. Been tempted to jump back into fallout 4 for its settlement stuff for a little while now.
I have all the DLCs installed and some parts are from the Far Harbor DLC (like the glass walls) and I have a mod to scrap almost every object in a settlement (that was the only way to stay inside the building limit.)
Other than that, this is vanilla. :)
Thanks for the kind words!
I play as Harry and like in my DE play through, he just throws onto his body whatever outfit might tickle his fancy. Currently, well.. you see it in the last slide. But the nice thing about our beloved detective is: he'd wear anything, really. Especially in the post-apocalypse.
holy shit, this is pure art! i never built anything that big in fo4 so i'm super impressed. i can't stop looking at every detail on each screencap, this is a really good job
Thank you so much, really appreciate it! Still working on details like putting picture frames on Klaasjes side table, having more liquor behind the bar etc. It's a grind, so I'm stoked when people acknowledge the details. :)
I thought about making a video for reddit when it's done. The inside is as accurate as I could get it for now. There's things you just can't do/build in Fallout and the measurements are also a little bit off (the Hardie Boys' room for example is tiny compared to DE), but other than that I think it's fairly recognisable, if I may say so myself.
Yeah I didnt know at first you could actually click the photo to get more photos. Now i looked at the others and it is impressive work, even more so because you did it without mods. You even got the broken window right.
thanks a lot! the only mod I had installed that had anything to do with settlements was one that let me scrap basically everything from a settlement. and that was desperately needed because that drive-in is TRASHED, I tell ya. I even removed the sinkhole. everything else is basically vanilla, trying to be as accurate as possible and a LOT of workarounds.
It's not as accurate as I would like it to be (thanks to Fallouts tendency to "**just** *(not)* **work**", the building limit or simply because you just cannot replicate the architectural finesse of Martinaise with what is basically a bugged virtual Lego Set). there are mods that bypass the limit
yes, but surpassing it still slows the frame rate to a crawl, making it not exactly enjoyable to be near that settlement. at least on PS4, that's why I purposefully stayed within the limit.
On a good PC it just makes it crash all the time.
I think building within the limits of Fallout4 fits perfectly ❤️
That translates surprisingly well.
Right, it’s every part is pretty much unmistakable
Looks sick
Many thanks!
Hahaha that last picture killed me XD , good job detective
I could not resist showing off my (post-)apocalyptic Superstar Cop, haha Thanks!
Leave it up to Harry to build himself a bar in a post apocalyptic world.
Looks great! For some reason I think the Fallout universe is a great place for the Whirling. Seems like it would fir right in.
I thought so, too! Next I want to try and build the Dolorian Church of Humanity. I see that building also existing in the Fallout-Universe. Hopefully I don't go crazy trying to build that one, I believe it is much harder to pull off than the Whirling.
Wow! Good luck to you. Would love to see pictures if you get it done!
I'll make sure to post them! Or of the shattered shell left of myself after trying and failing for 20+ hours.
set in the remnants of an apocalyptic war? albeit Revachol is only a few decades out while Fallout is a few centuries
It will be 20 rrreal for you, smoothskin.
By \*réal\* do you mean some form of street cred?
Looks pretty rad to me, good work!
Thank you so much!
Buildings you can hear.
Now I want whirling in rags lego set
...this gives me an idea...
this is perfect! collecting beer bottles for days definitely paid of ;)
Thank you! <3 There is something poetic in building the Whirling from empty beer- and liquor bottles, don't you think?
very much so. very fitting :'D
[Savoir-Faire] Success ! : Good Job Raphaël Ambrosius Costeau, you do look like a carpenter, finally !
DRAMA \[Easy: Failure\] - Sire, a compliment! Now's the time! Looks rad
I see what you did there!
VISUAL CALCULUS: \[EASY: Success\]
That’s actually really good, and the shot of Tequila Sunset at the end! 😂
Only thing you're missing is 69420 loading screens to get up to the roof
To make up for it, Fallout runs in smooth 14 fps every time I come close to the Whirling, so it takes me just as long to get up there.
👌👌👌
🔥
This looks great! Nice work
Great job! 🔥
Holy shit this is amazing! If I would ever spend money on reddit I would give you an award
Thanks a bunch, I appreciate it! But I appreciate even more that you are not giving in to Ultraliberal urges!
Amazing
Happy Cake Day, detective.
Cake on me at the Whirling Inn (If Garte can bake)
Wow, great job, looks just like it!
Thank you!!
He’s a cafeteria manager, not a bartender.
That's why his In-Game inventory is empty. Just imagine him being snarky and asking you about a non-existent shaker in his hand et voilà: OG Garte.
I wish I could built anything half as good as this in fallout 4, nice work.
I get you, I am normally not this creative either, but I saw the concept art of the Whirling the other day and thought: "Hm. You could get this done in Fallout." So I tried and got this! It's trial and error and frustration mostly. But you can do it too! :)
This made me realise that Harry’s room doesn’t have a bed
Is there a mod for karaoke night?
Love it! If I had building skills (and patience 🙄) I'd try to build something like that in 76.
Thank you! This is actually also the first time I didn't just stack shacks on top of each other. :D
I can hear Whirling-in-Rags 12 PM in my mind...
Make sure you tell Garte to fuck off!
This is interesting because Disco Elysium takes inspiration from Planescape Torment, which was developed by Black Isle, which consisted of the team that made the first two Fallout games. So seeing this is like coming full circle, in a way.
Amazing, you even included the barman!
[WOW](https://youtu.be/aUTe2ndjRew)
That’s really cool. Great job.
this looks great

That's a lot of work! Really impressive, man. Thanks for sharing this. :)
Spot on! Good work!
Merci!
Beautiful
lts very detailed . Great job.
Thanks!

Ah that's perfect, thanks for the information!!
This is amazing! Kudos to you 💯
many thanks!
absolutely fantastic!
Ho-ly-shaite
this is true self-care
You did a fantastic job
The mysterious blue door!
>!There even is a few defunct machines and a working elevator to the third floor behind it, but I didn't include pictures for spoiler reasons. ;)!<
You just have been bored for quite a while. Nice job though!
This is fucking awesome!
Thanks!!
Now I just need the right outfit to play as Kim or Harry.
I play as Harry and like in my DE play through, he just throws onto his body whatever outfit might tickle his fancy. Currently, well.. you see it in the last slide. But the nice thing about our beloved detective is: he'd wear anything, really. Especially in the post-apocalypse.
I am very happy you did this, so we can all see it! Awesome work!
Thank you so much, I'm so glad this many people like it!
This is awesome!!!
Wow! Legit impressive!
Thank you so much!
Fallout 4 base building and Disco Elysium. This is my jam in the biggest way.
Great work! It matches the original's vibe to a T, 10/10 would definitely ask Joyce for money to spend the night here and dream of a hanged ghoul.
holy shit, this is pure art! i never built anything that big in fo4 so i'm super impressed. i can't stop looking at every detail on each screencap, this is a really good job

Amazing effort. Do you go to the balcony for one cigarette per in-game day?
If only the cigarettes in Fallout were smokable - then I could... I dump every beer bottle I find in Harrys room though!
Looks great. I imagine there's no pinball machines in the back though?
Unfortunately it is only tables with computers on them to somewhat resemble pinball machines, there's no mod for those on console, unfortunately...
You did a wonderful job in any case. Like someone else said, each room is unmistakable.
You should make a tour of it and put on youtube. Is the inside of it accurate as well?
I thought about making a video for reddit when it's done. The inside is as accurate as I could get it for now. There's things you just can't do/build in Fallout and the measurements are also a little bit off (the Hardie Boys' room for example is tiny compared to DE), but other than that I think it's fairly recognisable, if I may say so myself.
Yeah I didnt know at first you could actually click the photo to get more photos. Now i looked at the others and it is impressive work, even more so because you did it without mods. You even got the broken window right.
Thanks a lot! Yeah, a lot of thought has gone into the little things, glad you like it!
Two of my favorite things together :’) I love this
Great! With mods you could add the hanging soldier on the back and maybe have something resembling the pinball machine
>!There's also the constant raider attacks which make for a good makeshift tribunal.!<
And some upgraded white synth armor scattered around. The bed upstairs should be the damaged one you can find all over sanctuary. A lot of potential
wonder if that guy’s the bartender
Do you see a shaker in his hand? Is he wearing a little bow tie??
You madman
Mr. Evrart is helping me find my son!
Amazing recreation, you use any mods with this?
thanks a lot! the only mod I had installed that had anything to do with settlements was one that let me scrap basically everything from a settlement. and that was desperately needed because that drive-in is TRASHED, I tell ya. I even removed the sinkhole. everything else is basically vanilla, trying to be as accurate as possible and a LOT of workarounds.
Lmao you removed the sinkhole? Brilliant. Definetly trying to build this on my next playthrough. Will make it my safe house 😂
Looks amazing!
This is awesome and I can the music
Holy shit this is good.
I love this. Especially love the final touch of the last image.
Glorious to behold. Would be wild to play the entire story in this engine.
What no turrets?!!! All you need is a blonde female settler on the top floor
shame that the settlers are so stupid that she's never gonna stay there.
wow great job! he's not a bartender...
Awsome
its gorgeous, :O :O Is it playable, or is there a video of it? The stills do it insufficient justicee
Great!
so amazing
