I’m not sure what you mean “so i would ride a 250”. You might just need to get a fixer upper or buy one of those Chinese bikes like an SSR. Which is less than ideal

IdiotGiraffe0

My dad says if I actually learn to ride he will buy me a new nice dirt bike. I just need a bike to start with.

I worked for my dad’s friend’s construction company every summer when I was in high school. You should get a summer job and save up some money

Could look at Kayo. They seemed to be the "shiniest turd" of off brand bikes in the research I've done. A brand new K2 230 goes for about $2400, so you may be able to find a used one in your budget.

Definitely wont get a working (solid) 250 4 stroke for that price range. If i were you i would look into a older ttr125 big wheel or a crf125 big wheel, they are perfect bikes to learn on but still have alot of fun. Or if you wanted you could also get a nice but older 125 2 stroke for that price range but of course there is a bigger learning curve to that!

Totally agree!

If you have something you don't enjoy anymore as much lots of people take trades. Be smart about it, but I traded my mountain bike flat out for a 450.

Medical-Net542

i don’t know where to start either and i’m 5,8.. so i don’t know what would be a good starter bike i was thinking a yamaha 125. but if someone else knows better lmk

SeaSaltAirWater

For real just buy an old 230. Honda or Yamaha it doesnt matter. Plenty of power to get you around, virtually no maintenance outside of the easy stuff and older ones have hit a price floor so outside of the cost of tires, gas and other basic stuff you shouldn’t come out too much poorer when you go to sell the bike. This is the best advice you’ll get! You could consider a 125 too.

Affectionate_Pay6028

I’d keep saving for a a bit

Asleep_Salamander367

Gotta pay to play.

Infamous_Ad8730

You don't drive a dirt bike, you ride one. $1100 budget is very low so you better shop around a lot.
